I have a G 650 GS, and I think that is a very good bike. With a larger windshield the bike becomes perfect for travel. Unfortunately in Italy this bike has not a great success, because the BMW fans (and not only..) prefer the higher displacements. In Italy you can see the R 1200 GS everywhere!!!
I couldn't ride the V-Strom legally whilst on learner restrictions, I'm not sure if Suzuki make a LAMS approved model now. The BMW was approved for learner riders and a work mate owned one who let me have a test ride. I really liked the comfort of the beamer so I got one. In saying that, the V-Strom is a solid bike. You should ask MrAusadventure, here on youtube, his thoughts as he currently owns one. Cheers mate!
F650GS (single) and the G650GS are not very different. Both use the Rotax single cylinder engine. It's mainly just the display and fairings that are different. Apparently the G has 3 more HP, but don't quote me on that.
Hello ! Great review man , im planning to buy a bike and this one is on top of the list , do you think this bike could pull off a Europe trip ? We are talking about 2000 or 2500 kms ...
Of course it could, the BMW is great for touring and amazing on twisty roads. However, if your trip is going to involve more off-road than road, I would recommend a KTM 500 EXC or KTM 690 Enduro R.
Brembo all the way, the whole GS line comes with Brembo brakes. As a whole quality is good, however the handle bars are crap steel (going to replace with renthals), stock tires wear too quick and stock sprockets are like butter.

Legit LOL at 9:24. Nice review.
Cheers mate. The 700's a nice bike! Take it offroad at all? I was thinking of upgrading to the f800gs but I love how nimble the 650 is.
