      Can u help me understand these teachings? I don't know where to begin with dzogchen. I've read Ramana Maharshi and others and I get it intellectually. Is this something different or more to learn here. Am I missing something if I just listen to Ramana. Maharshi. What is the difference is what I want to know. And where do I begin if I want to explore more or delve deeper into the essence of the mind through dzogchen. It's strange how even without really understanding Longchen.,I'm drawn towards him. And I'm.sure its not a coincidence. How do I approach these to be able to easily understand?

      @@harjotmahal8985 Longchenpa's teachings are quite difficult to grasp if you don't have any training in or understanding of the Dzogchen/Buddhist concepts. You would be better off starting with the basic teachings on Dzogchen and letting that understanding settle for a while. Here are some suggestions for more accessible teachings in this tradition I would suggest you listen to:

      However, if you find that you resonate and understand Ramana Maharshi's teachings, then stick with those. There are loads on my channel that I have read. You certainly won't be missing anything - they are all pointing to the One Truth - just using different words, concepts and frameworks. But listen to whatever makes your heart sing and brings you peace of mind. With all good wishes

    The teachings of Longchenpa teaches so much without any teaching - neither gross nor subtle.. It has changed my days and nights than before, thank you so much from bottom of my heart. While searching online books I came across a book "Pith Instructions" by Longchenpa And I am curious to read this. I am checking in if any of your published youtube has any content from this book?

    What does rayified meanv or am i drinking too much

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  4 роки тому +25

      Hi Luke, here the term "reification" is being used in this teaching to talk about the psychological process whereby we make something "concrete" or "solid" out of something that is inherently substanceless and empty. For example, we often take our thoughts or our idea of "self" to be a real "thing" and as concrete, yet when we investigate we see the insubstantial nature of it and everything in existence. If you listen to the rest of the teaching, Longchenpa goes on to explain how to be aware of this process and to avoid these obstacles, and to avoid conceptualising altogether.

    • @SamaneriJayasara
      @SamaneriJayasara  4 роки тому +29

      Ah Luke, that's just it! Don't reify the concept or idea of "your practice" - be free from all reification as Longchenpa urges. Free from a 'my' or a 'mine'. That is where freedom is to be found.

      Believing or treating something abstract as a real thing, such as objects, thoughts or mind.
      Reification is the basis of our Samsara, it’s the mask of God.
