Honestly I think Liverpool will still do well next season. They've got a good squad of players that with one or two additions is still easily in the top 4, and Slot's style of play suits the players they have. I think Klopp leaving might be good in the long run because his style of play wears down players and opposition teams were starting to figure out how to play against it too. A lot hinges on how much they get to spend I think, because reinforcements are definitely needed. You could tell that by how tired the team was in the final stretch. We all know Liverpool can't spend the kind of money everyone around them does, but I think with a budget of £100m or so (which is still pretty modest by modern CL club standards) to get one or two good players in, they'll be fine.
Slot is very much a manager who will identify his stronger players in the squad and adapt his tactics to that, I dont think forcing the Feyenoord system on Liverpool is gonna work. If anything because key positions like RB are filled in completely differently I'll be interested to see what happens tho, secretly I hope for a chance for Sepp vd Berg (they both know each other from the U18 of my favourite club, PEC Zwolle haha)
As a Liverpool fan I have said in a few chats now I will be happy with a top 4 and finish in the latter stages in all the cups so reaching the semi’s or the finals… quarters in champions league… Slot is not Klopp so some adjustment period is needed
Klopp preferred a 4231 formation at Dortmund and when he arrived at Liverpool but switched relatively quickly to a 433, mainly because Fabinho joined. It'll be interesting to see if a holding midfielder comes in or if Bajcetic can get fit and hit the levels he showed before his injuries.
to be honest. if slot won that league cup and got quaters of the ucl. i genuinely wouldnt mind that as a season. id say it would be a success tbh. retaining league cup. semis to arsenal isnt too bad theyre a good side. and then ucl footy next season. those two results being the opposite would make it a fun season.
One of the other attacking systems that I think Slot could go for -especially if Salah leaves is: Diaz on the right as the winger (his shooting output is poor but imagine if just did pull backs and focused on assists in the box), Gakpo on the left as the inverted winger (he looked good in that role recently), and Nunez up front. With Salah, elliot or szoboszlai in the 10
Im a huge Feyenoord fan and slot is not comparable to ten hag. Ten hag came to an Ajax that was already dominating the league and build on that squad with an elite youth coming through. Slot came to Feyenoord when they were in shambles and he rebuild the team to an elite squad with less money and he’s really likeable I think he’s more of a Dutch klopp then he’s a Erik ten hag type of coach
In the more top games Slot played with 2 defensive midfielders no vol. Stengs went to IFW Right and Timber as mezalla. And Serouki as a defensive midfielder. I am a fan of Feyenoord.
The only reason why Slot used Geertruida as an inverted back is because Geertruida has an incredible vision and is good at build up play. When he plays center back Slot uses an attacking wing back (Pedersen/Nieuwkoop). His midfield when using a inverted back will then change to 1 box to box player, 1 playmaker and 1 attacking midfielder. No defensive midfielder as that is basically the inverted back.
I’m a Liverpool fan, I’d take top 6 honestly, I would stick with Slot if we got any sort of Europe, the same way we stuck with Klopp all those years ago now.
I know this is for fun but let's face it, CAMs don't work in FM24. That CAM will spend 90% of the time sat right next to the PF like you're playing 4-2-4.
Talks of Kokcu to Liverpool has been talked about in Portugal for a couple of weeks now. He was discouraged at Benfica this year so it may be a possibility
As a feyenoord fan I enjoy Slot controlling the intensity of his team so much. He knows perfectly when to start to play with more intensity and vice versa which I think isn’t really a thing in fm24 so you should try to think away lots of draws and injuries
Im a strong beleiver in if we have an interted forward, the wingback must stay wide for balance. Therefore, if Salah remains in the team, he will likely cut inside and force Trent outside. If we sell Salah that would open up Trent on the inside with potentially Diaz on the right as a wide winger to favour his right foot
I can see Diaz being used on the right like when Salah was at Afcon, I agree with Salah moving more central & Szoboszlai/Gakpo playing their preferred LW positions: Gomez/Bradley - RB (inverted) Trent & Mac - pivot Diaz - RW (conventional) Salah/Elliott - 10 Szoboszlai/Gakpo - LW (inverted) Nunez/Jota - 9
Would be more interesting if you had all the staff be edited to the 2425 season. And then put all the works be delegated accordingly. Happy if we could be in top 7 position during this transition phase.
Might have some struggles early then it starts to come together around Oct/Nov. But with a full preseason it could be like big Ange where y'all just keep winning. It'll depend on who's in and who's out, if there's enough new talent in and maybe a refresh at 1/2 spots. We shall see... 🏆🏆🏆🏆 :)
i think we’ll start the season with endo in the dm spot and trent right back but quite often especially if we’re winning games i think we’ll bring bradley on for endo and try trent in there to see how he does. We’ll try him there in pre season but we won’t play complete teams in pre season it’ll be botched and/or crap teams so we won’t start the season with it just incase
Arne Slot is a big fan of Gakpo. He will be played in his best position, which is inverted left winger. He will also want Bakayoko, and i can imagine Liverpool taking a stab at Schouten. Was also by far the best midfielder in the eredivisie past season and Slot loves him. I cant see him go for a lot of feyenoord players, and definitely not Geertruida.
@@disagiato9391 Not the point. And Schouten was a top tier player in Italy that was desired by Milan. He proved himself. Even in the cl his underlying stats are top tier on any position he played. By far one of the most underrated players in modern football. People are staring blind at Frenkie de Jong, he is at least just as good though. Same age, too.
With the power of hindsight regarding the EURO's I think Gakpo will be playing left wing, and might be starting ahead of Diaz, at the end of last season Gakpo performed better on the left wing than Diaz did so yeah
Top 4 for a new manager is realistic. For FM, they probably slightly underperformed. The tactic is a bit unbalanced. The winger should always be paired with the IWB. And the volante needs to be on the IWB side because the IWB is essentially another midfielder, especially on support. I hope you try again, perhaps after the transfer window.
Jones is terrific in the pivot, he finds space all of the time and press resistant. I think Nunez is gone tbh. Strange behaviour at the end of the season. I think Gomez and Kelleher have earned the right to be sold for first team football elsewhere. Don’t want them to go as they’re brill but they’re first team players for at least half of the Premier League. I hope Salahs dip in form is temporary. Keep him for at least another season.
European football will be a success, simply because the top half is so ridiculously competitive now. I just hope the fans stick by him and the squad, he's replacing one of the best managers ever.
You have absolutely lost your mind on Jones. Slot likes a lot of one touch play and Jones always takes 2-3 more touches than he actually needs to take so I’d be massively surprised if Jones is still getting significant game time next season
Top 4 in prem is minimum.. a good run into champs league.. would be nice to get past last 16.. and I. Don’t care about carabao or FA.. whatever happens there is a bonus

The biggest issue I have with this simulation is Spurs winning the league. Completely unrealistic.
(Oh, and Newcastle winning the Champions League)
It's realistic just cuz u believe some grand conspiracy doesn't make it less true
Spurs under Ange will win the league eventually if they stick with him
ange has a great chance of being successful, spurs do not right now. they'd need new owners and new fans for that to happen@@proteinz4796

Spurs winning the league probably puts the credibility of this game to bed. Enjoyed this, mate. You know our squad better than most!

The Assymetrical is right. With Salah as the shadow striker in the 10, with the right wing more as a right sided midfielder in Trent.
