That is a magnificent model. I was expecting something twice the size to allow for all the detail but he has managed to fit it all into quite a small piece really. Thanks for showing us this remarkable model.
Thank you very much for the kind words. Greatly appreciated. Yes, the swords are my favourite part aside from a couple grail statues I’ve gotten. Thanks for watching and get ready for more coming up. Cheers. 😁😁
@@themiddleearthcollector2785 I I have a few swords too. Though probably not as robust. They were like 120-180 a piece. Aduril. Glamdring. Orcrist. Aragorns ranger sword from the movies. And some from other movies. My favorite though is my ring of barahir replica. Which I wear everyday.
I just stumbled across your channel and emedietly subscribed. I'm utterly STUNNED to almost speechless the absolute beautiful details!! You can probably spend the rest of your life examining, and still find new things. Thanks so much for posting 👍. 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
Thank you so much for the kind words and comment. It really is a great piece. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more stuff on the way. Cheers. 😁😁😁
I really don't understand what constitutes the title of "Masters Collection".... as THIS one and Minas Morgul and the new upcoming (can't wait)..Helms Deep are sooooo detailed, ...but don't get to wear the badge!!. In my opinion, there is a lot more to look at these environmental pieces. What they managed to accomplish here in these models is incredible. I keep going over my Minas Tirith, I've had it for years... and it's sheer detail is mindblowing at this scale. I do wish they had have put the White tree, and the catapults onto this model as well as it seems like they scimped out by not doing this. I guess that's what 3d printers are for tho :) You have an awesome collection by the way!!.
Very valid points. In a masters collection I believe would be double this size and be 2-2 1/2 grand more and have what you mentioned in it. They can only do so much with a 5-6 hundred dollar margin. I do intend to get helms deep when I can. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more content. Cheers
Having watched this video a few times. I can honestly say this is a very beautiful piece. I would rate the sculpt 10+ out of 10. However, I have to say the paint is super underwhelming at a 4.5/10 IMO. Either camera doesn’t capture it properly or they just went very gray heavy on the walls and very cheap. I know that the color palette isn’t extremely diverse in the movie as well. However, I would expect much more roadwork maybe some details on the streets and lower buildings. They should have done a lot more overall tone work on the castle parts. Also, all of the houses within should have some color on the roof or something. Looks like a very basic gray splash on the lowest level. For $600 I would expect a much more impressive paint work with a lot more detailing. Also, the tunnels that go between the jutting mountain cliff should be completed or at least deep enough that I can’t clearly see where they end. These are all smaller things but I think for the price point we should be this picky.
Thank you, it definitely is my favourite environment. All the details on it are just awesome. Thanks for watching, cheers. Stay tuned for more coming up
What is the area behind the citadel over the bridge in back for? Does anyone know the lore there? I remember also watching the movie and always wondering what that back portion was for.
There is a smaller version that would come close to it. It’s from the Extended versions of the film not 4K. Each movie came out with different item for each year. Fellowship was the Argonath, Two Towers was Gollum, and Return of the king is Minas Tirith. Hope you can find one. Cheers, thanks for watching
@@themiddleearthcollector2785 no, thank you! :) I believe my cousin had the original RotK collectors version way back in the day and he ended up selling it (regrettably as I understand it) I was always a bit jealous of him when he had it. edit: looks like Etsy has some nice options out there with much more affordable prices. I hate to not give Weta my pennies, but I am a poor peasant.
It’s my favourite environment to date by far. Which Bagend do you have, the open ended version? There are 3. Open ended, Bagend on the hill (Limited edition), and hobbit hole version? I have the open edition, and large Bagend on the hill. Need to do unboxing and review on it. Thanks for watching, cheers
@@themiddleearthcollector2785 I'm not certain which I own. It was the only one I saw for sale at the site at the time. Looking at the bottom of the base all I see printed is "Bag End by Richard Taylor".
Hmmmmmm….thats a really good question. Perhaps the gentleman from Nerd of the Rings would be able to answer that for you than me. He is more into the folklore and such and would definitely know more than me on that. Thanks for watching, cheers. Stay tuned for more stuff coming up..
They lived in the Pelenor fields surrounding the city, like in any major city from the "dark ages"...it wasnt shown properly in PJ's movies but in the books....
Oh really? Dude, you have to open Argonath. Such a gorgeous piece as well. Definitely one of my favourites as well. I go downstairs and look at it at least once a week. I really want to get Helms deep, that way I have all 3 in order from left to right from each movie. Thanks for watching, stay tuned. I have lots more coming up. Cheers
I Love Minas Tirith! It's Truly the Most Awesome, Most Beautiful Place in All of Middle Earth! To Me at Least. And There are ALOT of Truly Epic Places in Middle Earth. If Middle Earth wasn't So Dangerous, I'd LOVE to Live There, Bar None! Real Earth has Nothing on Middle Earth. Which is Probably Why So Many People Imagen So Many Bigger, Better, Grander, More Beautiful Places in Fiction. Because We Can Image Far Better than This. Not that Real Earth Dosen't Have it's Beauty. It's Just, Well, it's a Pale Shadow in Comparison to What We Can Imagine. Luckily, I Hear Heaven, is Even Far Better than That! So, Here's to Better Days! 🙏🎉❤
Hello sir, just found your channel and had immediatly to subscribe. Seeing your passion for lord of the rings just made me smile, hope you continue the great work! Have a good one!
Hello . Excuse me . May I ask the true dementions of this Minas Tirith Environment (Containing the base ) ? The WETA offical webside shows the Dimensions is (W x H x L) 46 cm x 21 cm x 31 cm . But is it containing the base ? The base looks like more much longer than 46 cm . Thank you .
I should have bought it when it came out . Now these go like 1500+ euros on ebay and I cant justify the spend on such a old model . Anyone has a idea why the tree was never included ?
This is a rerelease to let you know and they run 599 USD. Whatever that equates to your dollar, I don’t know. You can get them I know straight from Weta, and CastleKon.. They could have had the tree of Gondor in separately and do insert for it. Would have been a cool little feature for sure. Thanks for watching. Cheers
This is very close to how i always imagined it.The city was built around a moutain shoulder that goes in the center. This was one of the biggest dissapointements of the movie. Good work!
That's by far one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen!
Very much so. This one and Elendil are my grails. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for lots more statues and other stuff. Cheers

This would look great next to my model of Les Mont Saint Michael, which was a big influence for the design of Minas Tirith.
