I never thought this would be the reason you've lost all respect for me but I can't lie to you, not you who are so loyal and kind. So prepare yourself to unsubscribe, burn your posters of me, burn all of my previous albums I DON'T CARE. Because it's TRUE! Layout, design, pacing, size, detail, art - all of it is AMAZING. And the solo supplement is AMAZING.

Walking Dead was the first rpg where I thought after reading the solo section, “I can do this”. And I actually could! It was fun!
And yes, I searched for “walking dead rpg solo” on UA-cam 😂 And found HollowPonds Solo Sagas who’s awesome!!

What's weird is that I stopped caring about ANYTHING zombie in like 2008. But there was a moment...early 2000s where Zombies were like IT. They were the THING.

I’m interested is seeing solo walking dead. Just started a game with a group online. The GM was an enthusiastic backer for it. Everyone else is Walking Dead agnostic. I was sucked into WD tv show when I discovered it like 10 years ago, but lost steam after 4 or 5 seasons. Love this sort of genre though - survival/apocalypse.
I backed on kickstarter. I was happy that it is a great zombie game and that walking dead is just a dressing piece.

I totally agree. This game is incredibly well designed and written. Especially for solo. I also got the Starter Box because the dice and threat meter look neat 😅
Same. I also grabbed the GM screen. The tables they chose are all pretty useful, although about half the space is used for the various walker specific tables, so if you plan on playing it as a non-zombie game it'll probably be less useful.

This is the third great review that I have viewed on the Walking Dead Universe rules. Now I am going to have to invest in yet another Free League book. I should take out stock in them. A Man Alone Industries publication! I am in.

After seeing basically all of the channels I follow recommend this, I bit the bullet myself. Luckily I was able to round the price down-just like you taught us-so I also included the proprietary dice.
Also: I would love to see you do a live stream of this. I feel your style of live stream would fit well with this.

Im interested in seeing this solo play. You can even use google maps to play in "your place".
But im going to be 100% honest, this ttrpg was a big let down in some parts for me.
Im a big fan of wallking dead but what made me pledg on the kickstart for this game was the solo rules and the Haven. The Haven rules was realy dissapointing. To short, with few examples and mechanicaly it dont have to mutch in it. Was expecting something like in Mutant year zero but it gots to simplified for my taste.
Other thing i dident like it was the concept of the anchors. When solo playing having the need to have an anchor for me dont blends to well.
Added to that the game looks to be to brutall and characters looks to die easely. Yes im talking "LOOKS" becouse i dident realy tryed.
Other than that i actualy like the GM tools/tables and solo part of this game.
For people that dont like zombies , just call it demons. The world got full of demons and they can turn others into demons. The wallkers rules are so simple that you can call them what ever you like.
Whoa this is actually a really cool idea. It would feel super immersive to use my own streets AND people could find out where I live and throw rocks at my window to wake me up

My gold standards for best written books and very to the point are ICRPG and Electric Bastionland (Into the Odd is good too but Electric Bastionland advice are just better imho)
For real! I so badly want to play solo using the stress system. I think it sounds super fun. I got alien just to try it and maybe adapt the stress to an easily solo foundation. But if this does that, then it saves me the effort!
Free League just makes great RPGs and then probably later when trying to market it they figure out "oh! This would probably sell even better and bring new people to the hobby if it was Walking Dead/Blade Runner/Alien"
the only problem I have with zombies is that after you kill them, you can't turn them into deli meat.
gnomes, dwarves, elves, orcs, harpies, orphans, dragons, fiends, you can kill all those and turn them into deli meats. Not worth the risk with the undead though.
this post would be very strange out of the context of the bit I've been doing in this channel's comments. Now I want to throw a merchant selling zombie meat into my solo game.

It's crazy how good free league is in general. Alien rpg, Bladerunner and twilight 2000 are all masterpiece creations for me!, Although i have not been able to play a full session of blade runner yet
Fully agree with you on this. I went in to this with LOW expectations because The Walking Dead just doesn’t interest me (although I like The Last of Us). It was recommended to me as a nice post-collapse modern RPG setting + rules. And it turns out I loved the book. Considering just playing it with no zombies at all, since they’re already a side issue in this game.

Great job bringing this entertaining content. I really enjoy watching and listening to your take on solo rpg'ing.
TWD universe RPG is actually the first game I did play solo. I altered a couple of rules from the solo supplement to my own liking. But I agree that it's a great source to start playing. The whole book reads so easily.
In my solo experience playing this game, I tend to use ChatGPT a lot. I kinda like what it created for me. It replaces some of the dice rolls or the use of the Oracle (whenever you want to or feel to).
For example: one of my rumours was a possible hostile faction. Instead of letting the dice drop over the map, I got three possible locations I needed to visit in order to know if the faction was located there. I like that I need to investigate myself and to not know the information.
So, long story short, I have a question for you if you'd like to answer: what's your experience with using ai to help you create a story?

After spending the last week on the YZE SRD, I decided to buy this at full price just to see their implementation of a YZE solo mode. Now that I've read through it, I have to say I'm happy with the book, it's a solid zombie RPG. The Walking Dead flavoring is so easy to ignore that it may as well not be there, TBH.
My only real nitpicks for the book are:
1. I wouldn't have minded if the book added a dozen or so pages at the end, just to collect all the tables.
2. Coming from Mythic 2e, I was a bit disappointed with the Luck and Theme Oracles.
Once my budget allows, I want to get your solo rules for another interpretation for my personal play with YZE.

Love this RPG, i play solo, ignore the walking dead cannon for the most part. Mostly keeping the zombie lore. The setting is pretty generic, easy to exclude any official twd stuff like the CRM or anything else.
I've only ever played solo, but i found this rpg easy to follow and fairly straight forward to play.
Now if only someone could convert The Panic Engine from mothership rpg to a modern zombie game
dammit...meaning, hadnt given this a second look once, until watching this, lol! it does look like a fantastic book (and having never seen the show, still seems perfectly great)....not on summer sale, alas

generally agree, but the actual interior of the book has very little Walking Dead IP. rip off the cover and you could almost forget it's even Walking Dead related.

I'm going to give you honest feedback right back at you: I'm not going to do that. I make videos the way I enjoy making videos. I make them for me. I apologize if it doesn't work for your schedule. Sounds like this channel won't work for your needs. Lots of other good solo channels on UA-cam, plenty that do good editing too. I won't be doing that - so hope you find something that works for you *because I do not*
