I'd say if you have any edge damage you'll want to address it with a stone first. More of a maintenance tool, but I've sharpened some pathetically dull blades with it successfully. Hope this helps.
Nice review bud ,I have a old mora puukko knife from the early 60s n still in great shape n edge went shaving sharp real fast after a few minutes of stropping it.Do you think tht lansky block would work good on a sabre grind?
My Moras always take an edge so fast. Love them. I think so long as the cutting edge angle is close to one of the angles provided it should work fine on a sabre grind. Again, you can always drill your own if you need something specific.
Sorry if you've already gotten this figured out but yes, fyi ceramic is harder than any knife steel so d2 all the way up to super steels can be sharpened with ceramic, diamond even more so and sharpens D2 and super steels easily
Glad I saw this cause was thinking about doing the same thing with drilling extra holes 15 degrees. Great idea doing them on the back side. Thanks
Haha. Awesome. Worked good for me. THanks for watching
Clever mod. Just bought one and plan to do the same
Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing the mod and demonstrating your technique.
Nice mod there, well done sir.
Nice drill press set up. My lansky turn box holes are non matching a few degrees off. I guess I could return it.
Huh. no good. These ones are bang on. Yours must have been made on a Monday morning. See if you can't swap that one out.
Are the rods coarse enough to raise a burr and repair bevels? Or is this more of a maintain the edge tool

You from Minnesota? thanks for the review.
Nope. Canadian Prairies. Thanks for watching!
Is there any way I can add extra holes without any power tools?
I suppose if you had a bit and brace drill you could, but the angle must be very precise.
I rubber banded a crock stick to the box and used it like a stone. Nothing replaces real a stone.
That's a good little hack too, James. Thanks for the tip!
Hope your well dude, miss your videos.
hi, i have a boker plus kihon steel d2 with a sharpening angle of 22 degrees c and can sharpen it with this lansky turn box system?
Sorry if you've already gotten this figured out but yes, fyi ceramic is harder than any knife steel so d2 all the way up to super steels can be sharpened with ceramic, diamond even more so and sharpens D2 and super steels easily
You'd basically pick an angle and gradually reprofile it but you'd have it hair popping sharp after the first time
Lionsteel h2 just wouldn't take a razor edge on this system. Other knives I have totally amazing edge. Know your knife steels
so many ah , ah ah ah ah ah ... distracting as ahhhhh hell
it's a good product.............But shaving your arm isn't anywhere close to or shaving sharp.
Isn't _shaving_ your arm _shaving_ sharp?
