Oh Hannochka! It is so nice natural lesson! The plant is TASTY, made somebody happy ( looks like a squirrel, big chunks in the pot)\ Now you can investigate (second discovery ahead) how the plant recover itself, with natural trauma. I never tested cactuses, what their flash tests like? I think, it is ok to take a little to try. I would cover the specimen with some mash, for not to loose the experiment. And the male would be better to cover as well. Son, except not only my condolences, but congratulations the same time! Best wishes.
I'm so sorry about the damage to your beautiful plant. I've seen multiple heads form when a euphorbia has this type of damage. Do you use cinnamon on cut areas of your plants? I've seen that some find this helpful in protecting the plant from virus, etc., when there is an open area.
Squirrel or rat, see the video of the same thing happening to Michael at Arid Zine, he caught the rat and let it go far away from his little greenhouse. It really is heartbreaking…especially when they seem to choose the best plants 🌵
Not ok! I love nature but its not ok when "nature" in my case slugs eat my plants, plz keep us updated it looks like you are right abouf the center i was thinking that when right when you said it
Interesting it didnt just take one bite, that animal must have a way worse than you, when u get toxic in your mouth. As for the plants that is very old like these get a cage or anything like that. I know the feeling when it comes to slow growing plants like Euphorbia, i had some obesa where a slug ate all the flowers over night ..same with Cactus blooms. Good think about plants is that they can regenerate, or we can take seeds from them. So not all is lost. Its sad tho, but we all learn from our mistakes. And hopefully it was only a one time event and thx god it was only one plant...i grow cyclamen wild species that grow very slow like Euphorbia, if a squrille got an eye on them , it is game over. That is why i got a greenhouse or a cage. Still need to solve the slug problem 😡...
Hopefully it continues to grow!
Thank you, I hope so, too!
