Stretched in Valorant is not the Stretched we know from other games. It actually shows the same FoV unlike for example CSGO or R6. The Models are NOT bigger or wider in Valorant on a 4:3 Resolution. So you only have the slight advantage of more fps, as obviously more fps lowers input delay slightly. But realistically you don't need the 0,001ms you gain from that. So play on whatever resolution you think looks good in this game.
So I play on a native 1366×768 res with athlon 3000g and 8gb ram, i get somewhat 60 fps while nothing much is going on but drops to 34-45 fps while in a gunfight. Will 1280×960 help me get 60fps consistently?
(I copied my comment to your reply cuz you seem like you can answer my question. Pls help me out bro! Thank you!)
@@notgoku1466 I don't think so, as your native resolution only supports 768 pixels vertically. So 1280x960 should not work as 960 > 768. You can try 1024x768 as custom resolution and should theoretically have higher framerates as you render less pixels and are now on 4:3 aspect ratio.
It is possible to obtain real 4:3 with the help of a program.
@@kiryhara I know but it's not officially supported and could potentially lead to a ban at some point. And well, you need to play in windowed mode for it to work, which comes with input latency issues that eliminates any advantage.
Lower horizontal FOV also makes it so that at times you can't see enemies in the corner of the screen when you could with 16:9
This video is probably the most useful thing I've gain here, i was always punished by playing in so low end laptop but by lowering the resolution now i can hit 60+fps no problem. Thanks a lot!
I personally use 1280 by 720
To reduce laptop overheat and 60 fps
@@vasudashenoy5199but the game looks jaggy and pixelated u have any soln?
for me it had helped me for FPS 90(16:9) -130(4:3)
I love 1440x1080 so much, it feels smoother
but doesn't it make it harder to see heads very far away? I'm playing on FHD and on Breeze sometime it just looks like 3 pixels, not a head anymore lol
@@Assassunn change the anisotropic filtering to 8x or 16x in game, and if you have nvidia gpu go into nvidia control panel -> manage 3d settings -> applications ( idk what it is called ) -> select valorant if you dont have it there run valorant then do the process then select anisotropic filtering to application controlled ( it should be in bold letters after you apply it )
@@smashedpotato223 thanks you I will try I was putting 4x and MSAA x2
i play on 1900x600p, it gives a small fps boost and it doesn't make the menu look ugly
2:26 i hate my mind, how long did it take u to spot it?
I customized my res to 1080x1080 a few months ago while trying out different res and aspect ratios, and this 1:1 worked for me too well and have been playing on it since. No degraded graphics as its 1080p, but its more stretched than a 4:3 res. No quality comprise, Fps boost.
Is this autism
I've never really liked stretch res. All it does for me in my opinion is just make the game look bad and grainy, and ruin the look of the UI. (I have a pretty strong computer, so my fps is always fine despite native res.)
this is mostly misinformation, valorant only stretches out your ui, you could literally put the game on 1080x1440 and your game would still have the same field of view, with only the crosshair and ui actually stretching out, hence giving the stretch feel with the characters not looking any wider.
This is relatively common knowledge afaik so i'm pretty surprised none of you knew about this
I hate to reply to a really old message, but if you have an ultrawide monitor & a 16:9 monitor. You can play stretched by going to switch in-game from ultrawide black bars to the 16:9 monitor but then not hitting apply. Your Ui will be the exact same size but in-game is stretched. It's been a bug since beta surprisingly.
@Based Madara Set your main monitor as the ultrawide, with your secondary monitor connected being a 1080p monitor. When you are in-game go to switch your monitor from the ultrawide to said 1080p monitor, the whole entire graphics stretches before you even hit apply. So close out of the settings before hitting apply and it will be stretched.
If that makes sense.
@Based Madara You would have to create custom resolutions for one of the monitors to not show the 1440p res cause valorant in-game monitor swaps always default to the largest res. So you would have to trick it in to thinking its a 1080p.
What res should I run on a 1440p monitor? I get my 165fps which is my hertz but idk if I like native 1440
Probably 1920x1440, you can make this custom resolution in nvidia controlpanel
@@moaeriksson1290 thanks i’ll try it out
I play with the lowest resolution, and gotta admit the game looks shit, but i don’t have those black bars on each side. And i saw that people use the low resolution but their graphics won’t change badly. like the game still looks like 1920x1280 but just stretched xd that’s it. idk how to get that:(
Pros need to move up to 2560x1440, its so much clearer its crazy, especially after 20 meters. Its also not that big of an fps hit since valorant is mostly cpu bound anyaway and they play on low.
Why do I not see a "display" tab in my amd software, also it just says amd raedon software not adrenaline version if that means anything
I have a 3090ti and 12900k with a 1440p 240hz curved monitor, I get over 500fps in 1440p max settings I still choose to play 1024x768
I didn't know resolution gives a lot more frames for most pcs, I have 60-100 fps in game on the standard and never knew I could get even more by changing that
Do you have a good pc or??
U dont get more fps it fix fps drop and maybe i am not sure i guess u will have 120 fps sometime if u have 100 fps

just to add a note if u dont have a monitor close to your face stretched helps :D
The only reason I play in 1024x768 is because
My monitor is forced to used 75hz at that specific resolution
At any other res I can only achieve 60hz
You gotta make a custom res in NVCP to achieve you highest res with any other resolution you want.
Soo if i have high end pc then i don't need to use the stretched rez cuz idc about fps i care about my valorant progress
if yall like the 16:10 feel but want a lower res for more fps try out 1280:800, i personally play on 1280:960 though.
Custom res doesn't work for laptops even though i have nvdia graphics card
duh
A UA-cam channel dedicated for VALORANT tips and guides saying that stretched makes the player models wider and faster. Yikes
i dont understand why val dont open their res options like csgo. Its so dumb and its prolly because people fill a dissadvanage
when i use stretched my graphics start to look terrible, i can legit count the pixels and my weapon has black lines
So I used to play valorant with hd 4800 graphics. So here are some tips to get better fps.
1. Use all low settings, sometimes you can squeeze out bloom depending on the map, but in general all off.
2. Use vsync. This might sound weird as pros often say to keep it off so that you get the best respond time. And yes it can use a small amount of system usage. However, it will remove random graphical issues, like random white blocks appearing, or the buy screen shaking. (Yes this does happen in low spec PCs.)
3. Avoid long corridors. You know haven where there is long corridors everywheres, well avoid those, otherwise you'll be stuck with 30fps or less.
4. Close all tabs. Self explanatory
5. Close out any unnecessary things in task manager.
6. Play on some of the lower resolutions above. I personally played on 1600x900.
7. If all else fails and you really don't want to buy a gpu, then you can try debloating windows.
8. Eventually succumb and get a 1650s when the market crashes.
With these simple steps you can get maybe 60fps during some parts of the game.
Also if I would recommend a gpu for us desk station workers, I recommend the Rx 6400. Bye!
or throw that box out and actually get a decent computer (even a $150 works)
i use a r7 240 and a8 5600k, turn on vsync is really help me since my valorant is very stuttering (i have a 100+ fps but drop to 60-50)
vsync? no
Vsync? Lol
i play like 1390 : 780 or something, idk why, but it gives me the most fps for some reason
Hi My fps stays the same despite changing resolution but the guns and everything look more pixelated
Kinda impossible
U should try 1750 x 1080 its a really unique one!
I think you meant 1728x1080. If you want 16:10 strech res on 1080p, here's the formula:
1080 / 10 = 108
108 * 16 = 1728
Same rule applies to every other resolution.
i play on 1280 x 1024 which is weird cant lie
its great, many people don't realise it's a "better" version of 1280x960, with clearer image, etc
if I lower res to 1600x900 for more fps. So do I need to lower my sens?? Mine is 800 dpi, 400 edpi. Thank for answering my question
No you dont need to change your sens
So I play on a native 1366×768 res with athlon 3000g and 8gb ram, i get somewhat 60 fps while nothing much is going on but drops to 34-45 fps while in a gunfight. Will 1280×960 help me get 60fps consistently?
1280x960 is going to have less pixels, so yeah, your fps will increase. Experiment with it and see how it feels to use
Hiii, I know nothing about your living conditions in your household and country but prices are dropping. If youre old enough to work you could grind for that sweet sweet fps boost and maybe even a 144hz monitor
you need lower resolution 1280x720 or my favorite 1024x768
@@msmc5379 im not old enough and my mom is a ho she doesnt buy me anything

What about 4k?
I have a 4K monitor and played Valorant on it briefly before switching over to a 144hz monitor. The issue with 4K is that it feels drastically inconsistent compared to lower resolutions. On 1440p, I would pretty much never go below 300 fps. On 4k, it would fluctuate between as high as 180 fps and as low as 45 fps, primarily depending on what was on screen, but also seemingly randomly at times.
It should be noted that I have a 3080 and 11600k, so this didn't have anythingto do with poor hardware; Valorant just doesn't seem to be optimized for 4K gameplay.
The repeat editing fail @10:18 Lmaoo noice

Why should Nats be more noteably than these Liquid Legends, Soulcas, L1nk and Nivera...? They are better rated in the Competitive Scene...

Anything not native is bad in this game. Doesn’t give you any advantage and just increases input delay
Resolution has nothing to do with input delay if it still supports the same refresh rate. Indeed you could lower the input delay by more FPS, which would suggest a lower resolution than native is in fact "better". But realistically you don't need the 0,01ms you gain from that.
What do You Say man... You re wrong
It definitely gives advantage for some people, 4:3 makes the body look larger and you can hit headshots easier
@@GlacikingTheIceColdKing 4:3 does not make the bodys larger in valorant.
You need at least 100 FPS, not 60 FPS... but it should be achievable by 90% of people unless they use like a GT 210.

Now hold on... You're suggesting to set the main resolution of the display to something custom??? Well yes, it works but what if that monitor is used also to do other stuff than playing valorant? You switch back to 1920x1080 etc. after your gaming session?
With an AMD GPU you can set custom display settings for each game you have on your pc and the GPU Software will automatically switch back to the default setting when you close the game or when you leave the game window.
But idk if you can do the same with a Nvidia GPU. Maybe there is something like this in the GeForce Experience software, but it has been ages since I last used it so I don't remember it well.

They should really ban stretched res in pro play. It looks fucking garbage and is kind of a disrespectful move to the art team Riot spends millions on. I know it's only a UI stretch in Val but I find it an awful experience to watch.
Also you can run this game on a fucking potato clock, the performance boost is useless for most people.
I can’t even play on 40 fps without stretch resolution, stretch resolution gives me 60 fps more and the difference is huge because my fps always drops to very low frames so is not useless.

how is it a disrespectful move to stretch your resolution?
are you somehow disrespecting the people who made the thing on the side of your screen (which only gets in your way mid gameplay) shiny by turning off bloom, and putting graphics to low?
obviously, you aren't getting the full beauty of the map with your graphics and map detail levels to low, are you somehow disrespecting the map designers who put extra props in by doing that?
and also, it would probably look worse if those people on 1280x960 put the game to 720p, which is actually a lower resolution, thus has less pixels.
