    The “UI QUALITY” in valorant settings won't affect fps, but it makes your game UIs translucent instead of opaque, it helps if u are changing settings mid game n u can see if someone appears on your screen

    Overclocking your cpu will also net more fps. Valorant is a core count, clock speed, and multithread based game. I have a 5800x aswell, and if you have a compatible motherboard, good airflow, good cooler, and a power supply with enough headroom for overclocking; there are no downsides to overclocking. Enabling PBO in bios settings/AMD ryzen settings will automatically overclock your cpu and improve performance. Dual channel and atleast 16gb of ram is optimal for Valorant, and will reduce stutters and improve frame stability. Your GPU will be the main factor for input lag and this is especially the case for AMD gpus. Low end Nvidia Gpus continue to perform better at input latency reduction compared to low end AMD gpus. You can test to see if your gpu is bottlenecking your cpu by uncapping fps and looking at gpu utilization. If your gpu is stuck at 100% utilization uncapped it means you are bottlenecked.

    Bloom and antiorostopic filtering 4x don't affect fps too much, and they especially make the purple sovereign, glitchpop and prime look better, bloom makes any skin that radiates some kind of light look better, with glitchpop the difference is night and day, and the antiorostopic filtering lowers the pixelatedness of purple sovereign lines, like the one's in the video, I use 8x now that I have a better pc, imo 16x is just overkill

    3:38 The next two tips simply don't give you more FPS. Firstly, when you enable High Performance, your PC just needs more Power and doesn't have any tangible impact on your FPS. Secondly, the deactivation of the Delivery Optimizations doesn't have any impact on your FPS or Internet Speed as well. By default, Windows does only enable Delivery Optimizations on Windows-PCs in your local Network. And Windows prioritizes processes which require an internet connection, that you don't feel any disadvantages by having this setting enabled. But overall, in my opinion, the video is a good guide for optimizing your PC to play Valorant and other games.

    Great video, I changed some of the settings that you showed in the video and it helped boost my fps by a lot! (When my144hz laptop was new, I was getting 180-200 fps in game. Now it's a few months old and I get around 130-180 maybe a little bit over, sometimes. I've recently installed SQUADOV and i even didn't let it run in the background and since then my FPS has dropped significantly, which is strange, about 100-130, from my quick glances at my FPS every now and then. Now, with these settings, I get a little lower than my FPS when my laptop was new! Thanks a lot, will edit the comment when I go in game. (The reason I didn't change all the settings that you showed me is that I couldn't find them. Some NVIDIA and Windows settings weren't there when I followed your instructions. I would NOT recommend setting power management to [Maximum performance]. Especially not globally... instead you can take the lazy approach and set it to [Adaptive] OR set it on a per application basis via profiles. (nVidia CP does global) You will get A LOT of Google results, claiming Optimal and Adaptive are the same.. this is NOT true.
    ** Optimal = It will limit the GPU power and clock to reduce heat, etc.
    ** Adaptive = GPU will dynamically adjust the power and clock speeds based on the usage of the 3D application. (So if it needs max... it gets max)
    ** Maximum = GPU will try to run at max power and clock, regardless of the 3D app usage.
    So if globally set to Maximum it will be... like Cyberpunk = Max also Among Us = Max. I mean I am sure we all want our GPU's maxed out for Among Us, but highly un-necessary especially if you are doing any overclocking.
    I would say if you are at GTX 1070 or up. Valorant is unlikely ever reach a spot where it will utilize the full card especially with AA and more intensive smoothing/graphical enhancements turned off.
    Or if your CPU is bottlenecking the card in any way. Your stuttering and microstutters, might not be just GPU utilization. But a combination of CPU->GPU and other hardware variables... power supplies, not delivering, etc.
    You will get the same performance at Adaptive as you will Maximum, you can test it out for yourself. You just won't get the same max clock speeds when playing Uno. If you want to be 100% sure Valorant is getting max you can do that via the "Program Settings" tab by adding it to the list.

      should i use optimal? cause i want less heat as my room is always hot

    • @peptoyo
      @peptoyo 3 роки тому

      @@Axezz If that is all your concern is then yeah. However the change might not be that great.
      I would recommend, IF YOU HAVE the knowledge, a combination of underclocking/undervolting your GPU and CPU. If you really want a noticeable decrease in heat-to-room output.
      Either that or get some really long quality cables routed from the room next door or from a closet, haha. Much the way Linus did on one of his videos... no PC in your equals less heat. ;)
      However, if you do... any thing where you might want your hardware's full potential to easily be accessible, I would recommend looking into power profiles and various P-state settings (being very careful with P-states and making sure you know what you are doing, most BIOS will have this same disclaimer). As you said "always" which to me may mean things like... sleep/idle states may not be being used.

    Quick question: Under the desktop size and position tab in the control panel, what scaling mode should you use and what should you perform scaling on?

    • @SenaVL
      @SenaVL  3 роки тому +3

      I use aspect ratio. If I'm being honest I have no idea if this is the best setting but it's been working good for me.

    • @Reesespuffy
      @Reesespuffy 3 роки тому +2

      Use fullscreen

    • @peptoyo
      @peptoyo 3 роки тому +6

      The ONLY thing that you really want to make sure is that the "Perform scaling on:" is set to Display not GPU. There is no need for your GPU to be doing any scaling at all.
      The scaling mode really only effects things where you are outside of your natural aspect ratio or resolution... i.e. 4:3 and you are 16:9. So any setting is fine if you are 1080p and using 1080p resolution or a sequential 16:9 aspect ratio. If you are trying to stretch things then the scaling mode will have an impact, but otherwise "Perform scaling on" is the biggest performance feature in this section of the nVidia Control Panel. Otherwise unless you are seeing black bars at some point in some application the scaling mode probably won't matter to you ever.
      Edit: Oh yeah, I didn't explain why even though the first sentence answers your question.
      GPU scaling can(could) introduce extra input lag as it requires a little extra processing.
      To test if your monitor supports scaling:
      You can select Full-Screen on your nVidia Control Panel and then change the resolution to 800x600 or any 4:3 resolution and see if it takes up the whole screen.
      And then select "No scaling" for an itty bitty desktop experience.

    Last year when I played valorant it ran at a smooth 70-100 FPS on high settings, never had any frame drops which affected my gameplay.
    Now, since I've reinstalled I get 10-100 FPS no matter which graphical settings (whether it's on high or low, I receive identical frames), I continually experience extreme frame drops. Every turn of my mouse, straight down to 10 FPS for shoot back up to 70-100 FPS moment I stop moving.
    It's unplayable, nothing seems to fix it. All my drivers are up to date, I don't understand what has caused this... one thing I note which may fix this issue is multi-threading, that setting option doesn't appear in my settings? I'm on a Ryzen 7, so it should appear?
