ARRIVING AT FRANKFURT AIRPORT (FRA) - GOING TO LONG DISTANCE TRAIN STATION
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 сер 2024
- Hello Hoppers! We arrive at Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and I show you where to get your connecting flights, the baggage claim, and customs. Once we are landside, I show you how to get to the parking, car rental, and the two train stations. I have to take a train at the Long Distance Train Station so I show you how I get there. Butttttt, there are major delays. See finally what I did.

Several of you have asked how long it takes to go to the Long Distance Train Station. Well, it depends. From Terminal 1, Concourse A (Departures!!!!) it's about 15 minutes. BUT, if you are arriving by plane, depending on what terminal and gate you are arriving at, it will take longer or shorter. If you land at Terminal 2, you will have to get a bus or SkyLine to Terminal 1, and that can take 10-15 minutes. The unknown is the gate you will arrive at. If it is far from the exit, you will have to walk quite a bit. If your gate is close to the exit, your walk will be shorter. And then you have to consider if you will have to go through Passport Control, pick up a bag at Baggage Claim, or go through Customs. So, there is no exact time. HOWEVER, if you travel with carryon only, you arrive at Terminal 1, your gate is close to the exit, you already have your train ticket, and you do not have to go through passport control or customs, it will take a minimum of 1 hour, that is, knowing your way around and knowing how to find your track. This is door to door, plane to train. I hope this answers the question.
I'm travelling alone for the first time and this video is so helpful. Thank you so much :)
I personally prefer longer videos showing everything. I love you when you make videos at Frankfurt Airport. It reminds me of all my travels through there. Thank you!!
Great! I know how you feel. I watch my own videos sometimes to relive places I've been to. LOL. I sort of like the whole story in one video but I feel nobody is going to watch it. Thanks for letting me know you prefer the complete trip! and thanks for watching!!
I love the longer videos with detailed information. You never which piece of information people are confused about and it helps to see it before we leave home - to know what to expect. Thank you for the videos!
Great! Thanks for letting me know.
I want to thank you for all the information about the Frankfurt airport. I cannot begin to tell you how useful it was. We just got back from Frankfurt and I used your videos to know how to get from Terminal 2 to the Fernbahnhof and how to check in at Terminal 2 on the way home. I would have been seriously confused without your videos.
Loved the video, thank you so much. Traveling in two days, it relieved my tension. ;)
Yes longer ,more information, door to door .Love your content
Thank you! So more information is preferred! And I thought people would get bored. Thanks for letting me know!!! My Hoppers are the BEST!!
Thank you so much!! This is my first trip alone and this video really helped me to be familiarised with this big airport. Personally, I prefer longer and detailed videos:))))
I was searching for this exact information. The length was perfect. I wanted all turns, all details, no guessing. This will be my first arrival my first time in Europe. Will be jet lagged and stressed out, now I won't have to puzzle out directions to the trains. Thanks!
So glad this video was exactly what you needed! No need to stress. Just go with plenty of time and notice the signs. Try to enjoy the experience! Have a great time in Europe!!
Just used your video at Frankfurt. It really helps. I bought a white bag by the way.
I love videos like this. It helps a lot to watch someone do something beforehand so I have a visual of what I'm looking for. I also got a sense that it would take a good amount of time from plan to long-distance train station so I can have a realistic sense of my timetable. (Also, I do land Terminal 2 so I now know there will be added time with the bus.) Also, spare no detail. Even if videos get a little longer, you may be providing just the bit of information someone wants. For example, some people may want to see you use the ticket machine. I'm a pro with DB so I don't need to see that but wouldn't mind if you covered that as well.
So glad you liked the video. What you said about making longer videos because different people may need different bits of information makes total sense. I never thought of it that way. I just don't want to bore people and don't want my viewers to spend time looking for the part that interests them. Many of my viewers like the longer video, from the time I leave my house or hotel to the time I reach my house or hotel. I thought it would be easier if I did short videos of all these bits separately. I guess both are good, LOL. Thanks for watching!!
Am going back to Frankfurt again in two weeks. Thank you for pointing out where the rental cars are located. Thanks for the new video.
Ahhh, great! Enjoy your stay in Frankfurt. Glad the video helped!
Thank you, you helped both my daughters…. Step by step for those who have never been there. God bless!
Glad I was able to help. God bless you, too. Thanks 🤗
Hello 👋 and thanks for this video. Exactly what I was looking for, because I need to get to the long-distance train station tomorrow after arriving from Norway. 👍
Great, glad I filmed what you were looking for. Have a great trip tomorrow.
You have such as calm voice, thank you for the video really helpful
Oh thank you! I'm really glad the video helped. Big hugs!
Seems like a clean and quiet airport compared to others.
Fantastic and so informative and easy to follow 😁👍
Thanks! Glad it was easy to follow!
The more details the better all together in one trip. it's easy to follow.
I love it when its all together
Yes! Thanks for letting me know. This really helps me plan out future videos. I just uploaded a 15 min video, LOL!
Thanks for that info I was looking for some of them and thank god I found u because I'm flying tomorrow to Manchester and ehat u did was super helpful
Glad I could help! I hope you are enjoying Manchester.
This is much better than the one i clicked before and got stuck coz it was 44 minutes long and all i need to find the way to long distance train stayion from terminal one . Luckily my flight landing at terminal one but don"t know about the other process yet , your wideo is really informative and helpful. Thanks for posting and god bless 🙂
So glad you liked my video and that it was helpful. Thank YOU for watching!!!
You always seem relaxed and not stressed out! I hope I will be that way when I arrive next month! Thank you for another great UA-cam! I'm going to land in Frankfurt then on my way via train to Heidelberg. 🙂
How did it go? And what about the trains? They are presently doing construction of the train tracks between Frankfurt and Mannheim and there is some chaos.
for a first timer in frankfurt, this gives me to get to my long distance train to stuttgart. thanks subcribed !
Glad it helped!! Thanks for subscribing!!!!!!!
I'm traveling overseas for the first time alone , but this Video helped SOOO much thank you ..
I'm so glad!
Thank you for the video. It helped me navigate the airport in my last trip.
I liked see from start to end.
Thanks for the feedback!!
this video information has saved me! there was someone who told me (with good intentions) that the train station nearest to the airport is 30 mins away from taxi. Turns out that person didn't know that this long distance station exists right here haha!
People get confused. There are TWO main Frankfurt Train Stations, the one at Frankfurt Airport (Frankfurt Flughafen (Fernb or Long Distance Station)) and the one in Frankfurt City Center (Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)), this last one is about 20-30 minutes by car.
i want to see long video. i love it when the video show details :)
I have watched several of your videos and they make me feel at ease. Seeing you walk thru the airport following the signs make me a little familiar so when I arrive it is almost like I had been there before. I would say maybe the shorter versions would be better but this one was good so I am probably not much help on the question you asked. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Ms MuchoHop. This info is very helpful and helps alleviate the stress of going to a new place for the first time and setting expectations.
Sure!! I'm glad my video helped you!!! Thanks for watching my channel!! Hugs 🤗
I'd love to see a "door to door" from Mannheim to London (by train, bus, plane, whatever!).
Very helpful video. I like the shorter cut videos, but I can see the usefulness in the longer ones too. Thanks again
I vote for you to make videos similar to the way you created this one! Gracias.
Thanks for answering. You prefer shorter and right to the point. Gracias a ti!!!
I like the longer video. And this was very helpful. I'm searching to see if you have a video navigating the mannheim station.
Very good i like the full run down when you leave you home ,all the way through to where you are going it remindss me of our long journey from Hoek Van Der Holland to Berlin which they dont do anymore
Thank you so much for making this video!! I am going to Mannheim this summer alone!
Glad I made this video! Enjoy Mannheim!!
Thank you so much as I have not taken the train in Frankfurt and this was soooo helpful! Especially the "long" train wording. Thanks!
Great video thanks!
Wife is going to Frankfurt next week and it was very helpful!!!
So helpful, keep it up..length of the videos are good .. thank you for the information
Thank you for all that great info! I prefer small videos :)
Glad the info was helpful! Thanks for your feedback and for watching! Hugs 🤗
Thanks for the Video interesting
This was helpful. Thank you for this content
We love your travel details 👍
Longer video's please. Love all your vids! Want to go to Frankfurt next month btw. :)
I just uploaded a 15 minute video, hahaha. My Hoppers are the bosses! Thanks for letting me know you prefer longer videos. Enjoy Frankfurt!!
@@MuchoHop Yess, thank you!! 🙃👍🏻👍🏻
excellent video, thank you for posting this, was really helpful.
I really appreciated this video as I’ll be traveling from the us to Frankfurt and need to connect a train in an hour. Worried about customs, but this helps with gauging how fast I need to run
Yesss! Make them longer and more detailed!!
I usually prefer the longer style videos as they have more continuity. However, for the really long videos such as your mountain adventures I think that having them split up is better. - I hope this helps :)
Yes, it helps!! Thanks for letting me know you prefer longer videos. It does make sense, what you say about the continuity. I have to keep that in mind. Thanks again!!
Perfect! The video really helps!
Thank you for your videos. Newbie travellers like myself prefer the long videos :)
Thanks!
Very helpful! Danke
Bitte! Glad it helped!
thanku for the vid, I prefer longer videos. Keep it up
I love your videos always :)
Thank you!!! You are so kind. I will have many new videos. I hope you enjoy them!

Great, glad you found it helpful! Enjoy your stay in Hamburg, it's a fantastic city. I have several videos of Hamburg.
Nice video very informative step by step
Glad you liked it
Post both types of videos. Its better for the youtube algorithm and people can choose.
The longer the better more details
Great🎉
Thanks 😄
Thanks for this video.
You can also use oyster cards in London for shopping also
Oh great to know! Thanks!
It depends on what you're trying to show us. At the airport, I am interested at looking at every nook and cranny.
Great to know. This helps me for future videos! Thanks!
By the way what you did with the train was completely legal because even if your ticket has a certain train printed on it, you can take any under the condition that you will be late for more than 20 minutes at your destination taking the train printed on the ticket. But anyways, most DB personell handle issues like this quite relaxed.
Thanks for clearing this up for us. I've never had problems with the DB personnel. They are quite flexible. In this case, the first train was half empty so it made sense to take it. I wouldn't be taking anybody's seat. Plus, I paid for mine. In any case, different fares offer different benefits. Usually the more economic tickets cannot be changed, you have to take that train and that time. Other fares are more flexible, but you also pay for this service, these tickets are more expensive. But this was not my case. Thanks again for watching and for clearing this up.
That’s great💐
Sweet
Make it a long one. Love from INDIA
I like all-in-one video so I don't have to hop from video to video.
Great video...
Thanks a ton for this guide to get to the long distance station near the Frankfurt airport. Do you remember approximately how long it took for you from Terminal 1 to the station because I booked a Lufthansa flight that gives me a window of ~1 hr 10 mins to catch the train!
Hello, thank you for these videos. They helped me a lot on my travels in Germany. Could you please one day show how to transfer at Frankfurt airport from lond distance trains to long distance buses? I can't figure that out yet. Many connections from Czech rep. to western parts of Germany are via Frankfurt airport using transfer from DB IC buses to DB trains.
EDIT: Longer videos are great. "Door to door" is always better for new traverlers.
Thank YOU for watching. I'm so glad my videos have helped you. Interesting what you say about the buses. I could definitely do a video on that next time I am in Frankfurt. It might be a couple of months...but in the meantime, I have a video on Bus Travel in German that could help a bit. But I'll do one from Frankfurt, good idea. Thanks again.

Door to door it will be! Everybody seem to prefer the longer video. So glad I asked. Thanks again!
prefer the longer complete video definitely
Thank you❤️👍
Thank you so much for sharing this video. Looks like it could be confusing finding the right train. My son will be flying to Frankfurt and taking train to Leipzig. I'll share your video with him. They don't mind if you take an earlier train if it's available??
Though the beginning was a bit clumsy bcoz I wanted the video to start from the point collecting your luggage moving towards the Flughafen Fernbahnhof and that"s what you did. In 2018, I wanted to take the long distance train from the Frankfurt airport to Saarbrücken but some people at the airport gave me the wrong instructions. so I took a shuttle bus and ended up at Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Could you please tell me the distance from the luggage collection to the long distance train station Flughafen Fernbahnhof ? roughly what is the distance. It was a great effort from you not easy doing a video while you are walking. I think that video was fine bcoz longer videos has continuity, you did a good job. Thank you.
thanks so much
Thank YOU for watching!
Frankfurt to kaiserslautern. Please guide
Really helpful ! Could have been more better if you could cover each and everything and also how to get the ticket from the kiosk . Thank you :)
Glad it helped. That's a good idea for a future video. Thanks
❤
Just show me the connecting shots. Gates in B terminal to Gates in A terminal. Also show the tunnel. How to use it and both entrances. A side and B side.
very great video indeed but but i would rather go with regional to manheim because its cheaper and takes always a shortcut but your choice
The regional train is not as expensive as the ICE, that's for sure, but it takes longer. At least when I took it. Presently, they are doing construction on the train tracks and you have to take the regional train to Mannheim. Thanks for watching!!
Great videos. Thank you. I always travel to asia from MIA via FRA. How to reach Hauptbuhnhof station from FRA. Not many long distance trains (such as to Paris) go through this station.
Good video, thanks! One question: when you get in to the train, do you have an assigned seat? Or you just seat anywhere? Thanks!
I like long ones
I had no idea people liked the longer ones. Thanks for letting me know!
There is a passport check in arrival to go to out side Please any one tell me
Hi nice video! Ihave a question is the baggage claim area public for people to pick me up? I'm flying to Frankfurt on the 30th
Vert good video, great!!❤I have a question please. I will come from Frankfurt airport and i am going also to Mannheim train station. Do you remember how much cost the ticket to Mannheim? And, does Mannheim have one train station ? I mean, i don't want to screw up 😢. Thank you very much ❤
Glad you like the video! For current prices, check your route in bahn.de You have the option of selection English. There is only one Main Train Station in Mannheim, Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station in German). Thanks for watching and happy travels!
yesss pls i prefer longer videos ma'am...
I prefer longer video like that you did here. It makes more sense!
Anyway, I didn’t really understand what you did by hopping on the earlier train. Does it mean your ticket is now invalid? Or is it the same?
How do you know which Mannheim train to take?
Hi dear ..how are you?? Nice vidéo
Hello! I'm doing ok, still recovering from my broken shoulder but uploading new videos so I'm happy! Glad you liked the video. Thanks for watching and asking how I was!
@@MuchoHop hope that you are OK now...im happy to have your news ...i follow you always....bon courage et bonne chance ...good luck.
Hey ma’m I have already been there but i have a question? If you have a connecting flight but you need your suitcase where should you go to take the connecting flight?
If you have a connecting flight you might not be able to get your suitcase as it usually goes to the final destination. When you check in your suitcase mention this to the airline agent OR just book 2 separate flights and you can pick up your suitcase after your first flight. This is in general, there are many other factors to consider.
Can you pls show us transport from Frankfurt city to airport
This is a great idea! I have to film this! Thanks for the suggestion! I just wrote it down on my list of To Do Videos. Thanks!
Is tge same thing to go to dusseldorf?
I like your videos
Next year i go to dusseldorf to graphic expo
Drupa
I like shorter videos that are well annotated. It's not likely that I'm taking the exact same trip you are (although we both have great taste, so maybe that does happen). :)
hahahha, yes indeed, we both have great taste!!! Love it! Yeah, what you say makes sense. You want to watch what you need.
Hi! Are there elevators (lifts) too on this path. I am carrying a lot of luggage and I am scared to use escalators with the luggage. If anyone knows, please help!!
Also, thanks for the video 🌿❤
Yes, there are elevators, no problem. And there is also passenger assistance for people who can’t walk long distances. There is a little cart to drive people around the airport and also wheelchairs. You should notify your airline if you need assistance.
no, don't cut the videos, keep it as you have been making.. long but with details, as i got to know how to check for your trains right from my room in india. so keep making videos with details though it goes longer... its totally fine
Is Heidelberg considered long distance train ride from the Frankfurt airport?
Make a Story along the way from start to finish.
