I don't care what generation you were born, everybody knows this jam.
Sorry to disappoint, I've never heard this song
@Almost Average I wonder that myself at times 🤔
This song reminds me of the John Candy movie “Uncle Buck”😊
Facts💯, not so much in this chaotic generation that love dark music, instead of light hearted fun and loving music unfortunately.
Exactly
You cannot imagine how MASSIVE this was, and pretty much always will be. Young MC and Tone Loc owned the world for a few hot minutes.
And MC Hammer! Late 80s these 3 had it going on! Epic jams!
This was a definitely a huge hit. I remember jamming to it in HS.
That female hittin that note set it off! That's what made me record this on my mixed cassette tape back in 1989. It was a good combination of their musical talents.
That bass line with Flea was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That funky bass groove made the song in my opinion flea is a fucking legend
@@youteo3596 I concur sir 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Hell yeah!!! Flea is beast!!!
Young MC has writing credits to Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina". Awesome reaction guys.
Whoa… I never knew that!! Preeesh!!!
Always love this song. Great old school rap! Now you NEED to hear Rob Base & DJ Easy Rock "It Takes Two"
Old school rap is late 70’s, early 80’s. Great song in any era though. ✌🏻
Oh yea the jam
YES!! 👏🏼👏🏼
It Takes Two is the greatest hip hop song of all-time.
Yes. One of my all time fave dance songs.
This won a Grammy for best Rap in 1990
Yep I posted that this song is more of a 90's song even though it was released in 1989
@@TrackRecord3455 I believe it was 1989! I went to a wedding in 1989 and they played it at the reception! Almost everyone knows this song! A classic jam!!
@@TrackRecord3455 I never saw that as an 90s song. 🙂
Young MC was great back in the day
Late Eighties. I was a metalhead who couldn't resist this song when it dropped. IT TAKES TWO by Rob Base and TURN THIS MUTHA OUT by MC Hammer were also some shit was hard to ignore. Which reminds me to remind Asia and BJ to check out APACHE by The Incredible Bongo Band. Because that old ass tune has been sampled by hip hop artists for forty years and running.
The official video was soooo dope back in the day. All of the rap singles were -- they were all about having a good time.
Wife here..Taking me back to School Dances..!!!..This got everybody on the floor!!!.."Bust out those out School eighties dances"!!!..So AWESOME to see you 2 loving this CLASSIC JAM!!!
Thanks for listening
@@AsiaandBJ I'm a big fan of your channel, but I had to give this video a big DISLIKE. Look, it's fine if you want to *review* songs that you already know once in a while, but 1) tell us *upfront* that you already know it and, 2) don't lie in your video title by labeling it, "First-time Hearing", or "First-time Reaction". It's not your first time hearing it, and therefore it's not a "reaction" at all. It's a "review". C'mon guys, do better.
Being a rocker since the late 60's, this rap song was a guilty pleasure, especially with the MTV Video that it came with. One of the first rap tunes I really liked and it always put a smile on my face.
Agree on all counts!
You need to watch the video...then check out Tone Loc Funky Cold Medina
Still remember every single word! 💜
Your reaction to this video is exactly what it should be. This song is bad ass always has been always will be
Listen, this song was a big big deal back in the day. It was everything.! and it’s still one of my favorite songs. I’m 53 years old and I have 15-year-old daughter and she knows this song. Word for word thanks to her mama! here’s the situation though when you listen to rappers hip-hop artists since the 80s he’s never mentioned and let me tell you this guy spits bars!
Great reaction! You guys are so adorable!! This song definitely gets you groovin'. Transcends time and generations! 👌
Asia is feeling it, a great one from the good ole days!
young mc wrote many of the hit raps in the late 80's
That would be Flea from the RHCP on bass. He's even in the video.
oh hell yeah i love this back in the day so cool. Released: 1989
One of my favorite songs when I was 12yr-13yr. From riding around on my bike with my walkman, to the town pool, friends parties, to skating rinks.
You two are so great!!! Keep up the great vibes!!!
Thank you so much!!
Y'all make me smile like a lunatic. Even though I was at the time considered just a "metalhead" even I can admit that ALL music in the 80's was just better.
My jam!!! I was waiting for BJ to get up and hit the “Roger Rabbit.”
Or "The Running Man."
Great catchy lyrics and very danceable. My daughters listened to this though the 80's & 90's. Very nice and you should be dancing,to quote the Bee Gees.
Thanks for listening
Flea on bass.
This song always hits differently. No matter where or what, peeps out dancin.
Geeez.......when this came out, I could do just that...bust a move. If I bust anything now, it''ll probably be a leg... It was a fun one back in the day...
You two crack me up. Love this reaction!
Thank you!! 😁
You kids needed to see the video to this. It’s pretty fun. I loved this. This song was big in my clubbing days. Shook my ass off to this. 😂
Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock - It Takes Two. Can't do the rest without doing the best.
Dang, I Iove this song!!! Thanks for doing it. Lotsa fun!!! GREAT memories.
Such a fun song the 80s was so much fun
Awesome song it will never get OLD timeless
I still know all the lyrics to this, too short, Rob base, Rodney O, etc, but can’t remember where I put my sunglasses. Lol.
80’s had some great music!
I will be 60 years old in September. This is one of my favorite songs from back then. Love to see you two having fun with these songs.
Can’t believe time flies that fast. I’m 48 and was only 15 when this came out. You must have been in your late 20’s.
Oh how I played this song over and over as a teen in the 80's.
Dude ! I love this song! Back in the early 90’s me and my friends used to skate to Young Mc ! Awesome!
This is a late 80s song. So lit and timeless.
Young MC - Know How still rocks the dancefoor
i still have this memorized.
Love this song, remember watching the video on MTV when they used to play music videos
Love it!! Kept the spirit of the 80s.
Young MC went to my high school - a few grades earlier then me so didn’t know him- but thought that was cool
i dance every time i hear this. is what it is...and i get funky with it...
That's the jam! Even today it's still great!
Always will be the party song in the movie "Uncle Buck"
My childhood. That singer awakened something in 9 year old me.
The video is so fun for this snappy groove! Such a well written track too!
First rap song that I had ever liked and had a true appreciation for.
Love this song, omg.
NOT WELL KNOWN - but the hook from this song is actually sampled from the 1970 song "Found a Child" by Ballin' Jack. That song never did very well, but the second half of it is clearly Bust a Move, lol.
The album this was on and the one after have so many great songs. Way underrated. Know How, Listen to the Beat of the Music, and I Come Off are all amazing.
That beat drop is nasty!!!👌
great tune from back in the day!.....what makes it better is you rockin a blue jays hat!.....Hi from Toronto
I totally remember this song being released. OH MAN OH MAN! Everyone got down to this song!!! Hell ya!
Man Young MC has a few classics this one included
Omg. Asia the shoulder grind dance thing! Hilarious 😂 🤣
Great video to go along with it
Love this, a blast from the past. It certainly started a catch phrase "bust a move"....🕺
I haven't heard THIS song in 25 years good times
Oh yeah,oh yeah oh...lol this brings back the memories- 💃 💃
His “Know How” is a banger!…..Mixed with the “Theme from Shaft”……killer !
1989 KMEL San Francisco FM , I grew up with this
This came out in 89. First time I heard it I was in Boston while visiting my mamma in CT. At that time I had never paid attention to rap before. But I thought it was a funny song.
Love this song.
You guys have got to listen to chapel Hart one of their songs is called you can have him Jolene. These ladies are awesome. They were just on America’s got talent not too long ago you can find them on UA-cam.
This was a huge hit in 1989! I love the official video too! Young MC’s biggest hit!❤️❤️
Who can sit still to this gem?
When we would go to the club my Pirate Band of friends and I, towards the end of the night. would either be too full(of alcohol) or just tired from all the azz shakin' we were doing out on the floor. So, we'd go back to our table and do what we called "Chair Dancing". Arms waving, shoulders moving, head bouncing, girls butts bouncing, and wiggling in their chair's, fists pumping, feet stomping, singing or just Groovin'.
I like how 2:21 came naturally to her and the move was actually a part of Dance Central. The groove is just too strong with this one!!
Dude this song brings me back ✌🏼
One of my old school favs too😎👍
Watching the video would be great, you can see the dancers and just get the whole vibe way better
Soon as it came on i started dancing!!!bustin a move!!🤣🤣🤣🤣if you didn't start dancin to this back in the day somethin was wrong and i was EXTREMELY shy but you HAD to!!
Love this song in a few movies as well ❣️
The official video is great!
One of the best rap songs ever
I remember when this came out. It was 🔥🔥🔥
As a white guy I loved this song. I used to clear the dance floor without knowing, and when song was finished girls would say I didn't know you could get down like that. Neither did I, but this song I just bust it! Doing my laundry at 58 and busting it again. My knees a little creaky from 26 years of rugby but who cares.
I still have my vinyl 12" single of this.
So long ago, so good.
This song was huge
Flea the bass player for The Red Hot Chili Peppers played Bass on this
This took me back a good hot minute... Skatin Rink and rockin the house! Lol
“Digging without a shovel” needs to be on a t-shirt.
Proper classic rap!!
Love that kick drum! And the breakdown is tasty. 🔥💥
She diggin without a shovel! truth
Awesome! Loving the Blue Jay support as well. 😎
You need to also watch the video!
This was a jam back in the day.
Thumbs up for repping the Jays! Blue looks fire
One of my favorites fron the 80s! 😁❤️
got too crank this on the car radio. love it...
One of the best early raps
Yo, Young MC's "Know How". That song is still fresh.
I gotta admit, this style of music is quite a ways out of my wheelhouse, but when this came out in the late 80s me, and a buddy with similar musical tastes just went to town with this song. Definitely a "guilty" pleasure. Love it!
I may be a rock/metal guitarist, but that don't mean I don't think this track kills.
'Diggin' without a shovel'.
bringing back middle school and high school
