lol the white people in the comments didn't watch the whole video and got in their feelings
Lolz
My son who is the only African in his class has never had lice even though there is ALWAYS lice epidemic in his class. He has dreadlocks too. I wash his hair almost every day and I rinse it with ACV and tea tree essential oil then I oil his scalp with my Shea butter n castor oil etc mixture. Plus I do all this in the sauna ( Finland) Lice cannot even try to get close to his head at allllll😤
Update
I have 4c hair and I got them from my son who has curly hair. It's socks, not fun at all
@Observe self at the time I had weave in my hair and I could see them crawling in my hair it was gross!!
@Observe self I knew my son had them ( I agree they are hard to see) so I put a lot of grease in my hair and that confirmed that I had them because they moved more toward the ends of my hair then the scalp. Idk if that make sense. All I know is, after I put grease on my hair that made them come out. To where I was able tp see them
I am black and live amongst white people so I am very very careful.
I live in group home I keep my clothes and hair clean I oil my hair
I thought lice didn't like tea tree, lavender, peppermint oil, or any of the other essentials oils some of our products tend to have, which keeps them away. This concept is new to me. Even when I was in elementary school, I never got them. My mom used that bergamot grease on my scalp. My white friends got lice though. You learn something new every day. Interesting.
White people usually don't put any oils in their hair, because their hair makes its own oils. Europeans in the middle ages would sometimes use lavender to fight fleas and lice, so it probably helps straight hair some, but I have never heard of any non-hippe white people using it, LOL.
the essential oils that you list are natural insect repellents so that would help prevent them and get rid of them if a person caught lice
Innocent Exactly! You can used those oils for your plants to repelled any insects away from eating them.
Sarah Eli Anybody can get head lice it is a bug that the Lord Jesus Christ cursed the Egyptians with, people read your bible and stop listening to lies. When you are human just like the next person.
DaBank any race cane get it
I have been working as a health aid in elementary schools for the last 8 yrs. I have seen 6 cases where African American students have gotten head lice. Just as it is being reported here, it is difficult for black people to get it because of the shape of their hair and some of the products they use in their hair. There are certain oils that make it difficult for the lice to hold on to the hair but there are also oils that make it easy for them to attach themselves to the hair like the petroleum based oils. There are also essential oils that they just don't like, such as tea tree oil and peppermint oil. So it is possible just as being reported here. So the most important thing to remember is that lice is passed on from by head to head (hair to hair) contact, by using another person's hair things, wearing another person's clothing items that touch the hair, trying on items at the department stores, and one place that people never take in consideration is the movie theater seats. The reason theater seats are a big deal is because there is never a day where the movie theater is not empty. The lice can live off it's host for up to 24 hours. Most of the seats at the movies have had somebody in them within that time frame. So if you sat where somebody who has lice sat they could potentially leave lice behind. So you always have to take precautions in these situations. Tell you children not to share hair things with their friends and keep your child's hair up off their shoulders as much as possible. THINK PROTECTIVE STYLING.
Great point and well put ! Here is a link to the second part of this video - ua-cam.com/video/ktdoBwCbdOw/v-deo.html
Every time I get a sew in or box braids I feel like I have lice bcuz of the itch.
Hair from ALIBABA OR ALIEXPRESS have been known to have lice in them so make sure to “thoroughly” inspect all hair before using it !!!
Green Beauty Channel ™ no bueno
Teo Lou i forgot what its called but its probably something they put in the hair. Thats why i soak with ACV and then you'll see some kind of residue then wash it with shampoo let it dry and you're good to go
Acting is bo$$ The hair probably have lice it comes from people that get lice!
Rinse your braiding hair with Apple cider vinegar and wash your bundles before putting in your hair
Love the night time sleep attack part. Good info but, Lord this has got my head itching!
glad I have nappy hair😷😆
samy lynch actually according to the video there are types of lice that love afro hair
mary stop lying cave becky
mary She said if lice have to change and adapt to a different environment it will for survival.
Taj Mahal Anybody can get head lice it is a bug that the Lord Jesus Christ cursed the Egyptians with, people read your bible and stop listening to lies. When you are human just like the next person.
I have curly hair nigga im fuccced
My first time seeing lice was this year. My two biracial nieces both got those blood suckers. Everybody in the house, on the black side (lol), was shocked, because we've never seen them. Some got onto my clothes when i was trying to wash my nieces' hair, and throughout the day, but none of us ever got the lice in our own hair. I wasn't even putting products in my hair, so i'm glad i didn't get any in my hair. Of course, black ppl can get lice, but i think we are least likely to get it. Now...idk about them mutated ones tho 😐
byoung4eva1 Mutated. Lol.
byoung4eva1 Black people ckant get lice .. they ckome from white people y’all are most likely to get it
byoung4eva1 The reason being is they attract to scalps that are less oily/greesy...
Tyanna ktv Anybody can get head lice it is a bug that the Lord Jesus Christ cursed the Egyptians with, people read your bible and stop listening to lies. When you are human just like the next person.
byoung4eva1 lol i never seen head lice too
I like that you use and site other youtubers. I've never heard of a few of them. I'll have to look them up
I believe the reason why it's harder for us to get head lice especially people who have 4c hair is because our hair is a lot thicker n harder for lice to breath n survive on our scalp.
Hey there, I do lice treatments as a side gig because it pays well. In all of my years of treating lice, I've only treated one person of color (biracial girl). I usually treat lice/eggs with baking soda and olive oil. I tell clients to oil at night then shampoo in the morning with a lice comb and repeat this process for 7 to 10 days. Always wear your hair up in a bun or high ponytail. And NEVER share brushes, hats, or helmets!
Does this work well? Oil on its own at night... shampoo with the baking soda the next day?
My daughter is biracial
THIS MAKES ME WANT TO GET UP IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT AND OIL MY HAIR EVEN THOUGH ITS 12:00 am
My daughter is black. She has 3b hair and got lice 3x from a girl with straight hair in her class. The experience was so traumatic! I used the treatment that killed the lice but it came back because 4 people in the class ended up getting it. (Funny thing all the kids that got it had loose curls) I put the treatment in my hair just as precaution I have 4 type hair and some of my hair fell out bc it still had a little relaxer in it. (Thankfully I had no lice in my hair at all. They never went in my hair even though she slept next to me at times.) I realized you can't use this product (Rid X and Equate) if you have any chemicals in your hair i.e. Relaxer, color. You can opt to use the natural lice treatment but they are less effective.
I think your daughter may have gotten it because of her looser texture, but nevertheless it's interesting to hear that some black ppl have gotten it.
Black people can get lice, it is rare but we can.
DATDUDEGUN_YT of course she got it from a white girl yuck
@@rmanney100 lmao right!😂
@@queenbee0777NO you stop saying this! Don't speak it *passes out from anxiety *
I thought head lice don't like grease.. that's why the old school women always greased our heads
You're right.
As an African American, I've NEVER had lice and know of no one in my family had head lice.
I could only listen and not watch. I'm already in bed but I just feel like washing my hair. I never get an itchy scalp but today my scalp was so itchy, I even took my hair down while in the elevator to scratch it . And now I'm seeing this video . 😨 sorry I do love your videos, but this one is hard.
same.
Sorry for freaking you out but, I have to share the information in hopes that it helps someone
Lice prefers CLEAN hair. Free of oil. My mom is from Ghana and she said in boarding school she got lice. Her hair is kinky Afro hair. She told me hair oil helped to repel it. She told me this when I was 8. My mom is old school African. I’m now 45 and own a lice company. I am a cosmetologist and have treated lice for over 20 years so this isn’t all the way correct. I am also biracial and see that ANYONE can get lice. They don’t like OILS. I treat lice for a living so just use hair oil That’s how I never got lice. I did my first lice removal at the age of 8 with my mom helping me. This is a great vlog. Lice are adapting. The best treatment is DIATOMACEOUS EARTH. IT IS A MECHANICAL SOLUTION THAT BREAKS DOWN THE LOUSE AND NITS. 🙏🏽
Great video! Im a preschool teacher and for sure can relate to the problem of having those nasty creatures.
That’s odd to hear, I always thought it was more common to black people. In my country, head lice are pretty common, especially on children, almost every child over here gets it at least ones and most of them have 4c hair. I live in Angola, a West-coast country in Africa.
I suggest Natroba for an black person with lice. It kills both lice and nits. My daughter recently got it from school and that's what we had to use. She has natural hair down to her waist, and that lice comb did not cut it.
Flat iron her hair use mayo put Walmart bag over it then in the morning rinse out put vinegar in there then wash it over then use the nitting comb comb it
Everytime people say black people cant get lice it kinda makes me embarrassed because when I was 8/9 I had headlice and my family didn’t understand why because me and my sister and my brother had it and they use to protective style and check our hair and I don’t wanna sound rude by blaming someone else but.. I remember having a friend who’s hair was filled with headlice 😅
Is your hair a looser texture?
Jade Grenade nope Black people don’t all shave their heads darling most just don’t get lice. I would think it’s the texture, but even when my hair was relaxed and I was around girls with lice I didn’t get them.
Good morning ma'am u seen around white people that's why
jamrockjamrock jamrock maybe, but, now that i’m older i realized actually my mom neglected me so that explains the headlice
You are wrong black people can get it I have 4c hair and I got it
Hello. I'm a recent subbie, and I must say I'm very impressed with your videos. I've learned a lot. So I was wondering if you could address hair facts and care for menopausal women like myself. I know you're not there yet, lol, but I'm sure there are others besides me who would find this info helpful. Thanks so much for all your hard work and well-put together presentations!
Hello Linda, that's a great idea. Menopause can do a number on your hair and skin so, I agree it's important to share ways to make the process smoother and less damaging.
maaaaaaaan I'm itching baaaaad😤😤😤😤
lol
I’ve been avoiding this video for a realllllyyy longggg tiiimeeeee. I’ve been itching since the intro of this video lol... THANK GOD for my curly hair. Amen. (But them mutated ones doe)
This channel should have way more subs
The info was needed.
I've never worried about them because they don'y like oil or grease.
I have an itchy mosquito looking bump in the middle of my head and my hair is really short right there I was wondering if you had any clue as to what it could be.
I still can't stop geting the chills
Can you make a video of explaining how does greasing your scalp does or doesn't promote hair growth? I've seen it work for some people
Hi is it true that if you take a shower every day lice won't go on your hair?.
I was wondering are there any shampoos that get rid of lice? I don't have them but just tryna stay precautious
Thank you for the video GREEN BEAUTY
And can you please do a video on the green house method for natural hair
This is probably the most disgusting video ever made on this channel , i swear every time i hear about "parasites" ugh
Dr Jeanne-Isaïe ahhahaha it's so good to catch them and kill with the nails ahahaha so relaxing. I don't remember to have it as a kid but we do this way here and acid vinegar kills the eggs
in my 31 years of living I've never seen not one black person with head lice infestations and in school when I was there and none of black girls got lice so I find this hard to believe in America I guess
I believe we can get it, but it is rare...not common for us at all.
I've never seen a white kid with lice either so...
Does this also apply for natural curly hair that’s not Afro textured?
I have been finding strands of hair with holes in them like the strand split in the middle and I can't find a lot of info on it. Is it normal
Here's a link to a video that goes over mid strand splits - ua-cam.com/video/x_tqq9rCQBc/v-deo.html
My daughter is in the .3% that was exposed to lice. Prior to this, I was under the assumption that we couldn't get it as well. She was 10 years old and an all star cheerleader. The majority of her squad was Caucasian, however her position o. The squad was a base. She we was exposed to these pest from a flyer who had it. She has very thick and coily hair we had to do three rounds of the treatment to completely get rid of the infestation. Thank you for sharing this information! More of us need to know that we can contract these pest
Thank you for sharing this wonderful informative video on head lice.
But I’m mixed but I don’t have straight hair I have puffy hair and when it’s wet it gets curly soooo am I able to get life ?im still in school and my heads really itchy right now so my moms gonna chekd it tmmr

No and any body that does is either mixed race, wearing other people hair or using other people combs are brushes or just lying! Never heard of in my black family!
Can you do a video on benefits of using rice water?
Hi so i have a question i got a perm a few months ago and i wanted to ask i caught nits off this little girl i slept with on holiday at night ew! But ive been itchy recently but combs dont fit through curly hair so will this work or no? I can soak it with water then cover it in conditioner then try to use the nit comb so it slips through will it work or not?
Zobia_ 14x girl if you have nappy hair you have to put mayo in there put a Walmart bag on it for 6 or 5 hours or overnight wash it out then put apple cider and vinegar in there but if you got nappy hair flat iron it first
I'm Filipino and I look more Chinese ,Korean,Japanese but my hair is so kinky since my grandma told me we have some Black American Blood so I now have lice I don't know how since I always take bath and it's really hard living alone .
lice are very comment in Africa Thank you for explaining this because when I try to explain I am told it is not true but growing up in west Africa I have seen so many people with lice.
When I was in elementary school and we had lice checks, the school nurse would just look at me and go “You don’t have lice... and you braid your hair everyday. You probably won’t ever get them.” And that was that. Since then we’ve never had lice, me or my older brother. My little brother is mixed, his hair is more straight. A while back he was having itching and irritation on his head and back we thought it was his detergent (he was sensitive as a baby) and we started trying different clothes and detergents. It wasn’t until another woman looked when she was doing his hair that we found out that he had lice. We had absolutely no way of even knowing. My mom was upset but really it got remedied quickly. It was just surprising it literally NEVER crossed out minds. Needless to say he now has his hair thoroughly oiled and braided everyday. We haven’t cut his hair since he was born so he has long hair.
I would need them gone super fast! Either that or the clippers would come out, I couldn't bare insects in my hair.
OK. So what do you do if you actually do have lice in your hair? I was never afraid of lice before. But since you told me about those mutated ones, I'm worried! And how in the world do you get them? Do they jump from head to head or do they move around like bed bugs? I wanna know! LOL!
Love your naps❤️
I've had dandruff before and that's all I ever had, never had bugs in my head so I'll never understand.
Great video thanks
Some people shave their hair to remove all the lice, and idk what type my hair is, buy it’s easy get knots but it’s not staright Nor curly
I had head lice before and by the time i noticed, it had already damaged my scalp/roots. My parts were very.....spacy.
I'm experiencing crawly scalp with prickly sensation what does that mean? I don't see any lice but I sometimes when I scratch flakes fall out !!! My dermatologist said I have scalp pruritus but I don't believe that
It's always a good idea to get medical advice from about 2 to 3 doctors especially if you are not comfortable with what one told you. Scalp pruritus can be a symptom of something else so, I suggest you book an appointment with a different doctor for a second advice as soon as you can.
Christina McFarlane Dandruff or maybe even ringworm? Both causes itchy scalp and flakes. I wouldn't know what the crawlin' sensation could be from tho'. Sometimes insects (not lice) can get in people's hair, but even if it bites you on the scalp, I don't think that would cause flakes tho'.
could perm kill?
one word DETOOOOOOOOOL
Ami- lee *detail
what?
Ami- lee lol. that's someone who thinks you made a grammatical error😂😂😂 but I feel u girl. I'm about to buy the biggest bottles of dettol I can find rn
Lol they should look up detol lol.
Ami- lee exactly, with their ignorant selves😐
I had lice before coated my big fro with olive oil and it took me 5 hours to get them completely out I was 15 back then 😓 .. now I (only) discovered one lice in my denman brush🤢 and I'm in panic!! in an instant i reached to my olive oil bottle. Just to be sure I will leave it in overnight
Now I truly understand why lice is such a scary thing.. I'm like freaking out and I feel itchy just thinking about it.
I wish I had curls now Im completely strait!
Why am I watching this at night and feeling a tickle in my head
can you please do a video on rice water.
My sons class just had a student that had lice. Now I’m over here tripping. He has short hair and a little longer on top. So he barely has any hair at all. So I’m sure he’s good. But I’m going in tmrw on his hair. Shampoo and tree oil.
I’m sure he’s good too but, I agree with you. It’s best to be safe than sorry 💚
can we have a part 2. how to get rid of of them, what products are best for natural hair, home made products etc.. how to treat our hair after using the treatment. do we wash everything we have, hats, blankets and if yes with what? (or maybe they don't survive if not in hair after a while) sorry you scared me and I've never met anyone with lice so I have no idea how it works. I just know that my head is itching like crazy now. lol. in the comments some people talk about "ring worms" can you do a video on that too please. thanks for all your videos.
The next video will answer all those questions. This Thursday
Here's a link to the Part 2 - How to avoid and get rid of HEAD LICE - ua-cam.com/video/ktdoBwCbdOw/v-deo.html
I hope its helpful :-)
Wow, how do you treat/get rid of head lice?
Jolie 44 some use lice shampoo and you spend awhile getting them out of the scalp then you set the person, with chemical, in the sun. I never had any bugs in my hair being around white ppl who have it.
RickyboyH Right! I know for a fact that I have been around a number of white ppl with bugs in their hair but it never happen to me. I would have to question how much if their hair is more albino than black.
Can't u wash them off with lime juice?😫
samy lynch does it work?
Purplefrilly I don't know I just asking, because lime have natural acid and burn.
Lice is so scary. Though I went to a predominantly white elementary school, I never got it. I did remember a Black teacher saying lice don't like our hair because of grease usage.
Your teacher was right, lice hate petroleum and many chemical and natural oil products.
I was always told that lice would die in afro hair, as it is unable to crawl around and lay eggs? I love your graphics, and your vids, I had to make do my vids in IMVU style lol
Wym by natural hair though is straight hair not natural hair???
Their food source is your scalp 😱
I always heard it was due to the oils we used, where straighter hair ppl wash often to cut down on their natural oils
My daughter got lice for the first time. It took me 3 hrs to clean and comb them out. Now I have to do my own and repeat in a week
Rhonda Denis , Are you black?
FamousChattingStories Tv Yes ma’am and the child that passed it on to my child was also black. Don’t believe the hype. And I know other black women who have had to del with this issue.
Rhonda Denis Soo scary
My boys had the worst infestation I had ever seen. They are black w/ kinky-textured hair. It was awful. We thought we’d have to cut their hair. 😣
I remember it like it was yesterday lol ... it was soo hard to take it out...
Am not black but I ain’t white I have curly at the ends and straight in the top am gonna start useing my oil more
I really like the 3D character
yep & the only reason we may get it is because we are using a lice infected brush or hat..
Taj Mahal or by relaxing our hair.
Ahhh!!! Now I'm itching and got the willies!!😖
lol sorry :-(
What about if your hair straighten?
I'll cover that in the next video
I’ve had head lice twice as a child. Once in Nigeria and one in America. Both given to me by someone else. Yes, Black people can get hair lice.
Can relaxers kill the lice?
Probably since the chemicals are so strong
I can't watch the animation. I get too scrimy.
No one in my family never had lice and l never heard of lice until later as l got older.
Yep my bf definitely gave me head lice 🤦🏿♀️😩 but I’m getting bit up too .
I was really wondering what bug it was
iam shooketh i never new i could get head lice
I got an ad for guess before the video
Im scared I just found a little bug on my pillow idk if it’s lice or just a bug
Guys I actually have lice
How’d you get rid of it
I got head lice after sharing a room with some friends over a few days 😬
I got head lice in my locs I believe it was from sharing a room too ughhh had to cut all my waist length locs off but my new cut 🔥 😂 I also was itching on my neck, in my ears, & legs ....most disgusting thing I ever experienced
hi can you do a video on the grow your hair 1 inch over night challenge.
Elizabeth Neri she did a video on that. it's titled the inversion method :)
no i am talking about the on when you use egs for one hour and then put coconut oil on your hair over noght juss.erin did a demo on it.
What would eggs do? The protein in eggs is too big to penetrate the hair shaft... is it meant to be some sort of moisturizer? I'd sooner stick with adding honey to my deep conditioner.
im not sure thats what i was wondering as people were getting amazing results
Elizabeth Neri people have got to be lying in those videos. The protein in eggs is far too large to penetrate the hair. I'm still trying to figure how is happening.
Well I’m going to go oil my hair
Shave my hair, eyebrows matter-of-fact shave and wax my whole damn body.😣
Few
I've seen carpet beetles in locs
