I’m relatively new to all the mountain men, pioneers and frontier men myself, Being from England, so we don’t hear the stories at home from grandads or family friends, I only really got to know my first bits from watching documentary series on tv from over 10 years ago now like “ Alaska the last frontier “ and “ below zero “ and then started looking up anything uploaded on here, and I also enjoy doc’s about hobo’s too, and then the Hugh Glass story “ The Revenant “ movie, but is there any others that I should look for that you can recommend ? I've tried to follow the storyline of one of his other stories but eventually gave it up! Did anyone else have that problem?

I can’t figure out why the author goes all over the place with the years, territories, characters and stories.
I have to agree this was very dificult to follow in a timeline sense. But great to sleep to.
Certainly perhaps the greatest mountain man.
