Let me know your thoughts down below! or if you have any questions let me know.
Yes, I have a question. Are you a Northern Irish guy pretending to be a Canadian?
Hahaha! I am northern Irish but I moved to the states over 4 years ago. Never had a thick norn Irish accent to begin with though!
It doesn't have auto-focus using a monitor? or is that just to the monitor and not down to the source? Isn't it APS-C Thanks!
I'm so confused with the optional part @ 6:20 What's the name of that piece?? Mini Map Mod? Mini Map Book? I cant find anything on it, please help it would be a huge help.
The smallrig mini matte box. It’s about $100 and comes with a bunch of adapter rings to mount it to the front of your lens. You can then use the front flap to help stop big lens flares when light hits your lens. Looks cool too
"completely unnecessary, completely over the top, but it's a lot of fun!" I love it!!!😆 Great start to your channel!
haha thanks!
Have to say this was a great first vid. A fun little build there and liked the relaxed style. Looking forward to more with the ZV-E10 too!
Dude! First video? Amazing aputure setup and the way you explain things is such a breeze. I would definetely watch more about zv e10 and what you can do it with different accessories.
Love rigging out little cameras like this, even if it's just for fun! Looking forward to seeing more vids from you Thomas!
Thanks man! Cheap/older cameras are so underrated, I’ve always loved seeing your content on budget options and how you can make them look as good as you do!
I love how this was purely to show what you can do and for fun! keep them coming!
This is the way to go when one wants to dope their camera... so well thought and done !
I may get some inspiration from your work when building my future rig.
Bravo, brilliant ideas and excellent execution !
The brilliance in this piece is the thoughtfulness toward budget. Using NP batteries vs V mount saves bundles and weight in so many ways. Yes, it is overkill. But, damn this is a great little setup. So many great pieces. The FX-30 may be the perfect candidate for the setup.
Thank you! Yeah I’d love to get my hands on an fx30 to put into this type of rig. Maybe sometime in 2023 lol
What an amazing first video, congrats! I'm trying to figure out how to rig mine up while keeping it portable.
Absolutly amazing and entertaining content keep on creating
Awesome vid mate! Just picked up a ZVE-10 as a beginner and I feel like building this rig already!! 😄😁 keep the cool vids n tips coming pal!!
Great job with your first video! I am loving this background setup! I have similar camera and my problem is, my skills are just not there to cope with image quality, what that camera can output. So lot of new learning all the time :)
Great video! Love the angles!
i really enjoyed it - thank you - ive just bought a zv-e10 and will probably learn all about "rigging out" with it until its time to upgrade - - - many thanks once again - Shaw
This is amazing, just bought this camera. This is so inspiring. Thanks!
Glad you like it!
Insanely good content for a new channel, we are witnessing the beginning of another great youtuber 😁
Loved this video! Thanks so much for sharing. I may not build up my ZV-E10 but looking to make a rig for my FX30 I think I can use a lot of these parts for that. Cheers
This is a great insight, planning to buy this camera for daily & professional use, looking forward for result review footage with that rig, thankyouuu for the insight!
It’s a fun little camera! Hope you enjoy it!
Awesome first video! Good stuff! Keep it going! Would love to see some footage that was captured with this rig setup! Especially with those cinema lenses! Haven't seen much ZVE10 Cinema lens content on here!! Good Start to a channel though!! Thank for sharing!
Loving this mate! Nice tweaks that can be implemented to any rig! Great vid =]
Thanks! Yeah i think this would be a great setup with a Sony a7c in it or something
Loved everything about this video. I avoid subscribing like the plague but decided I wanted to sub to your channel. Looking forward to more!
Loved this kind of content. I really like small cinema rigs with affordable cameras
wayow, i am going to build my own version of this. thanx for making this!!!
You should definitely do more of these camera builds, and add some test footage aswell. Maybe do a sony nex camera or a canon m50 cinema rig! Keep up the great work man you gained another sub!!!
If i can get my hands on them i will!
Wow , It’s amazing Bro. I love it.
Great video man congrat.
Man this is sick. And that ending!!! Love all of it and you have a great speaking voice bro!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
Great video my man! ❤
Amazing Video! Subscribed... Looking forward to what future videos you make
Thanks!
An absolute hoot to watch. Makes me wanna build my own now :D
Thank you for making this video 😎👍
Nice video man, really don't feel like it's your first one! And also very interesting, nice!
Thanks!
Thanks a lot! Great combination!
Thanks!
Instant sub! Love it. Corporate clients will eat this up 👀
That's a crazy setup bro :))
Nice job Thomas. For your first post, it's a very good one. I appreciate that you explained why you chose each item. Now I have a giant "ZV E-10 Rig" list on my Amazon account. LOL!
Just finished building mine. Video on its way! :)
Wtf! First video? You're amazing man. And the ending is too good! 😂
Thanks man! Lol
SOOO NEAT!!
You rock man!
Good one mate!
Absolute must do! Like i always say "Just because you can rig it up doesn't mean you shouldn't" lol!
Wow!!! #Perfect!
I really liked the idea but i also wanted see how it look a video from that
amazing! muito brabo! 🟡🟢
Amazing first video!!!!! I was waiting for you to go out n shoot with it but it does look sadly but very goofy..I think i was worth it lmfaoo
Awesome!!!
It's funny this is your first video, keep them coming
Amazing first video!! Sheesh your content is way better than ours. I am thinking about getting that camera though so thanks for that.
I loved seeing this in your first video. In fact I have a sony zv-e10 to be my camera in Streamings and for walks to take photos every day. When I saw this I was so impressed that I just bought the SmallRig cage hahahaha. I think that you can share parts in the blackmagic 6k both in this one, so the expense would not be so noticeable if you take advantage of it in both bodies or in three bodies as is my case. I have Blackmagic 6k Pro, Sony a7IV and this little one. You got me to subscribe
great video!
keep it coming .... dude ... i got the zv -e10.... but using it on the ronin rs 3
I just bought this camera because of this channel. You seem like a good guy so I trust your opinion on it. There were none available through your Amazon link, I’m sorry you won’t be getting kickback from the sale. But I will be buying through your links here for anything I can get off these Amazon links. Thank you sir for the good quality content!
Bruhhhhh love thiss even though I'm not gonna do it tbh lol was entertaining. Thanks
Nice.. very nice set up. Close up of lenses used in the video and also which adapters if any etc were used? Rgds
Great video for your first one! Many youtubers look back on their first video and cringe, I don't think you will 3 years from now. Keep it up.👍🏻
Thanks man! Really appreciate it!
love it
Nice work.
I kinda love this
This was fun! Trying to get back into shooting (and hopefully starting a channel of my own) so I ordered a ZV-E10. Say I'm desiring a cinematic vibe to my videos and I'm planning to grab maybe a Sirui 35mm anamorphic, can you explain why this rig would be overkill? Or maybe a better question would be: what would be a reasonable outfit for the ZV-E10 to help balance and trend it toward a cinematic vibe? Great first video, man. WOW!
I think the Sirui 35mm is great for it, I’m testing that lens out this weekend in Boston and loving it so far. The reason i say it’s overkill is that the only things that actually change the image are the camera and lens. The rig helps some with stabilization, and the monitor helps for better framing etc. but it’s mainly about budget. If you have the budget to go all out with it then it’s a lot of fun. But i wouldn’t recommend someone break the bank over it
hahah this is sick!
Thanks!
l love the video, it's very good for your first video. You taught me something new about attaching the battery plate directly to a cheese plate instead of on rail rods. The rig looks awesome. love the way you light your space, however, I was thinking that the foreground could be a little brighter seeing that the camera rig is black, (it's no big prob though). my only drawback is your background music. It's nice and jazzy, but a bit too loud. It's actually competing with your voice. Overall I give your presentation 9 out of 10. Lower the volume in your next vid and it should be a 10 hands down. I will definitely like and subscribe. Keep up the good work.
Great fun video
Thank you!
cool setup, also wanted to say you should be a narrator if you're not already haha, really great voice for explaining things.
I think this is a great setup! I’m only missing a v-mount system in this setup. maybe something for in the future zve10 rig. 👀
V mount systems are good, i have one for this setup, but with the size of the camera etc it made more sense for me to go with npf for the budget savings 😊
that build is dope though
Very nice!
very cool video i would like to see the total price at the end but other than that fun to wach and fub idea !
This is the best video I've ever seen
Lol i see you found me sir
You're first upload is my end game goal!!!!
Thanks!
awesome! :-D i would love to see some b-roll with that rig at the end, and also how ridiculous would the price for that rig be 😀
Thats wild..i just bought the EV-Z10, but i absolutely wont be doing this...however i loved the video regardless 😂
First video? Really?! No man you don’t seem to be doing a first video at all! This is really really good! Keep it up
I love the overkill!! What is the great looking lens you have on the camera?
It’s the meike full frame cine line! That with a Viltrox speed booster is a mighty combo on this camera
Awesome video for the beginners I guess, Like your style !!! But want go bare bones carrying such a rig on hikes would be overkill 😂 maybe it’s good for YT vids
Awesome bro, what lens would you recommend for zv e10,? And what lens is that? Thank you
Great video! which is that cinema lens? thanks
This is so overkill that it's entertaining :D :D :D
Immediate sub... now let's see a shoot with this rig! :)
thanks! I'm taking it to Boston with the sirui anamorphic this weekend to shoot some content, hopefully, will have that up in a couple weeks!
Look great.. question though..doesn't having the camera screen on the side take away its functionality? To use any touch screen points like focus you have to look at the side now
Nice! On a sidenote, if you´re on a budget get the 18-105mm F4 Sony lens. I consider it the Sony Cinema Sleeper Lens. Yes it´s F4, but most of the time i wouldnt go faster anyway. The big pro is the power zoom (all internal), IS, great quality, it´s parfocal and really cheap. Imo the most versatile lens for any APS-C video cam or FF if you´re filming in crop mode on a budget.
ill have to give it a go! the one that intrigues me most is the tamron 17-70 f2.8 with OSS. pretty wild specs
Thought I’d come in and be your 1000th viewer
Love that! Honestly i was hoping for 100 views on this. And got 1000 in 3-4 days… kinda mind blown, thanks!
Wow.. can you make cine cam from sony A6400
Hi. If you can, please make a video showing samples of this rig.
Looking for a small compact camera and 1 anamorphic lens to document family life. Curious which song and lens you would recommend ?
Complete overkill...I love it!
Bmpcc 4k..You don’t have to attach the vmount battery vertical, you can attach it horizontal and have access to the screen
I just put out my rig build for the bmpcc 4K last week so you can see why i did what i did with the v mount :). I find if it’s horizontal it sticks out too far
Hi Thomas, can you tell a bit more about the combo zv-e10 and ninja v?
@thomasjmcclure is the Ninja V going to help out make a difference? Hard to find info regarding the gains of such pairing. Can you enlighten us please?
Hey! Were you using the 48mm or 35mm nato rail on top? I’m assuming the 48 since that’s the one in your links but just making sure because it has two options once I click the link.
See you in Ireland pal
Yep, I'm gonna do it. Can't wait to show up with a cinema rig for my $600 camera. 😂
Honestly, I love it lol, got my mark ii rig coming out soon
Hey man sick video, What lens are you using in the video?
The lens on the zve10 is the meike full frame cine line with a Viltrox speedbooster. Or if you mean the one I’m using to film, it’s a sigma 18-35mm f1.8
@@thomasjmcclure Thanks bro you rock!
Fantastic 😊
.but we want result with that
Nice little rig! What lens brand is that 85mm?
It’s the meike full frame cine line, t2.1, i have the canon ef and a Viltrox speed booster to get closer to a full frame look
nice
Anyone have issues with these kondor blue rods. After taking the rod clamp off a couple times i cant seem to put it back on the back because it bends or is slightly angled. But i can put it on the front fine. If i take out the rods and flip it clamp goes on fine
How does the ninja pair with the zv-e10? Do you work with timecode? Thinking about how tentacle system or atomos timecode (ultrasyncs) will flow with this rig
Looks really good!
What hardware do you need to buy on the side? Or do they come with all parts come with extra screws?
It’s always helpful to pick up packs of 1/4 20 and 3/8th screws for rig building. Smallrig make “camera screw sets” that are totally worth it
@@thomasjmcclure thanks, that’s what I ended up doing 👍🏽
This has to be the template for a great first video😅😅
Does that hardware come with cheese plate?
I appreciate your work !! Which mic u used during recording vedio ?? ...
In this one i was using an old shotgun mic i was testing, not the biggest fan of it personally, but I just put out a video a couple days ago talking about mics for UA-cam and which one i ended up settling on: ua-cam.com/video/kFoo7XwgRmc/v-deo.html
@@thomasjmcclure which shotgun mic was that ??
I believe it’s a Sony ECM-670.
