Oh Kristin, I loved hearing the moment of birth, that your surrogate was confirmed pregnant too❤️❤️. You so deserved that moment and all the joyful moments going forward❤️. Thank you for sharing London and your story with us💕
Thank you for sharing your experience. Makes me appreciate my daughter in law even more than i do. She has been fortunate enough to carry two healthy babies for the same couple. I have learned so much more about the process and the gift she gave.
My heart wanted such a beautiful ending (yet beginning) to Kristen's story! ❤️ The past 2 episodes have been so heartbreaking, but this heals so much. So happy for her and her family!
I have loved this podcast and all the information that is given. I have also loved the different stories and ways to parenthood and the happy endings. I did struggle a bit with how Kristen speaks about adoption and the difficulties surrounding adoption. It is almost as if she is saying - no one wants this child so it is ok to just give a child to anyone who is willing to take it. Protocols are necessary to protect these children. Todd - thank you for playing "devils advocate" and defending the system.
Beautiful. I was doing ok until I heard about all the nurses changing their schedules & wearing their sweaters to welcome Ford. 😭😭😭 Kudos, Kristin, for starting such a valuable nonprofit in London’s memory.
It's not totally accurate that a birth mom has up until 72 hours to change her mind. Every US state has rules around when a birth mom can first sign consent to adoption for her baby. In many states, the first time she can sign is 72 hours, some it's 48, others have different timeframes. She can also sign later if she wants to, for example if she tried to parent for 3 months and then decided to do an adoption. If she signs earlier than that, the adopting parents open themselves up to problems because they or their attorney didn't follow the rules, so if you get a signature earlier than you should have, you're not actually "safe". Birth parent expenses (paying for a person who is planning to place their baby with you after it is born) depend on the state. Some have rules around how much you can give them. These expenses are gifts, yes, because otherwise it could be coercive for a birth parent who is struggling financially. Of course this also makes it attractive for scammers to come in. Any reputable adoption agency you work with should confirm the pregnancy and have procedures in place to check if a person is scamming or is genuine.
Thank you so much for sharing this incredible story!!!

Scammed 3 times on top of everything else! Just unbelievable what Kristin and her husband have been through.
I’m telling you. I can’t make this up. It was like nothing good was going our way.
I know…
