I was so skeptical whether watch this video or not even though i searched for the topic myself. It's not that I'mma an introvert, i have always been an extrovert who can talk to anyone anywhere BUT in the last few years i have started listening to everyone around, i like how people share their stories with me. But because of too much listening i have completely forgotten how to tell a story of my own, i always think whether the person in front of me would be intrested or not OR whether my story is any good or not. Thank you so much for this video. It was a simple yet very important message for me. Thanks!
This man speaks facts, I am always self conscious and felt like I am being left out, to the others that are communating with joy sharing their stories while I couldn't think of anything as I don't have any and felt awkward, I could only stay silent and hope they remember that I am still there
It’s my second day in Australia (from Canada) and nothing has gone according to plan and everything has been a challenge. This is the first video I see after I got home for the days. Thanks Vinh, this helped 👍
Everybody's life has stories worth telling though. If you know nothing about someone or what they've done, that can be a fascinating story to someone. Something has happened to everyone.
I think it's also important that when you do go on adventures or have new experiences that you live in the moment. Many times I catch myself thinking about the past or worrying about the future that makes the present moment less memorable
It absolutely makes sense cause once you know your position and experience which is already high enough than the average people it's an instant self value or immense self confidence that comes unknowingly as your selves realizes that you're even more than worthy. The sense of Social anxiety and any kind of mental or verbal dilemma then automatically stops by loosing zero effort. Because the root cause of this personality trope is now obliterated and got replaced with the sense of ego.
So right ! I think the problem is people are afraid of trying new things because they fear failure. But if you can get over that fear of failing you'd be surprised at just how many things you can accomplish.
Man, those 3 examples are relevant as people struggle with interesting self reflection during storytelling- with experiences come good/happy/sad insights which are heart of good stories. Good one 👍🏻
Think of life as an interesting RPG game. *BE* the main character, not just an NPC. You wouldn't want to play a boring MC. You'd want to play someone with a cool backstory, cool skills, and maybe even a cool look. Be unique, and live uniquely. Live story-worthy.
I really liked his point. We should do something new. Scrolling through social media is a habit of people, even mine as well, but it's not worth it if you do this for a long time. Instead of that something new or interesting thing should be done, maybe learning a new skill, language or going on some trip. But, this takes a lot of courage for a lazy person like me 😅.
@@sarahkalonji2744 well laziness is a strength. can you tell me are you focused on something lately? cause sometimes to focus on that specific task you're turning off other functions of your body/mind. well when i was in kindergarten sitting on my seat doing nothing all day in class, the teacher came to me and said "why are you being so lazy" she then immediately knew i was just very FOCUSED on Rubik's cube. solution: wait for that specific task to get completed so you can allow your whole spirit to function again normally.
You will not require communication skills classes if you have a great life and it will be shared easily if the content is great . And bonds will be strong
Guys if you didnt know actually you dont even need to tell a good story, if you are passionate about what you are saying and you have high confidence people will be drawn to it. The reason for that is we are wired to follow and pay attention to people that are high value.
Here's the thing, I disagree that doing the same things will not lead to a great story. A great storyteller can see the wonder in the mundane. It's not always about what you do that creates the story, it's your ability to see the extraordinary in the ordinary that makes the difference.
Nope. I disagree with him on that one for a couple of reasons: 1) people with “boring” jobs are needed. If everyone had his job, then no one would have a job. 2) some people are more short and concise than others. 2 people can tell the same story in very different ways, and within drastically different time frames. I have friends that can spend half an hour telling me a story like they’re drawing me a picture, they have to tell me about every little thing they saw on their journey. then I’ll retell the same story in 2 minutes time. It would be the most mundane story too, but the way they tell it would make it sound so interesting and engaging. Think about jokes, which are a type of a story. The way you tell a joke can either make or break the joke.
In add to this, I've heard great stories told from events that's not happened to them but to someone else they know, or a novel they read. They probably told a better story than the book or person they heard from.
What happened with me is that I am more interested in talking about ideas but sometimes of chilling I talk about events, I have my cave era and my version of hippie from Woodstock in modernity hahaha
What about someone who has stories to share, but they're just bad and structuring the story.. And the listeners get bored or distracted early from the story teller?
If you keep staying in your comfort zone and procrastinate all the time, your situation will stay the same and your life will not change for the better.
I usually like your content but this is not correct. Because what.. if you don't live an exciting life, you will always just be boring? That's so far from any truth. Tons of introverts don't have an exciting life by your standards but are much more interesting than 90% of loud extroverted people who capture your attention quickly, but have no depth.
Storytime: Little sis: when are we going to grandma's Dad:now Big sis: why are we going to her? It is like 1,5 hour away. Mom: it is grandma's 81th birthday. Little sis: yay!! It is going to be so much fun!! Big sis: but mom! I promised to Amanda my Bestfriend to go an hang out at her house! If i dont go she probally is going to be angry at me! Dad: your going Mom: just text her and saythat you are going to your grandma or just say you are sick. Big sis: or you guys just go and i dont? I also have much homework to do! Dad: that trick isnt working anymore on us. Little sis: sissy, why do you not want to go to grandma. It will be so pleasant!!and grandma's cake is the best in the whoule world!! People love to hear about your failures. It's something everyone can relate. And how you bounce back is the kicker

Challenges or future stories to tell?
@@gastonangelini8352 many. My brother and I made a video about it, and are currently making more about our endeavours. We might release them

100% anything interesting that I have done I have done on impulse. All those choices very different from what I normally would do.
Fully agree 👍👍
Love his clear delivery, though I can't stand it when people pronounce the 't' in 'often'. Does he use fabric "sofTener"? 😂
That's wise
Exactly
Also you can tell a story about how you wasted your time on internet😂
Your videos are really helpful, thank
I feel like crying... 😢
Amazing
Sounds great
How do I grab someone's attention long enough to tell a short story? About 2 minutes long?
This is kinda difficult for a disabled person who hasn't have a chance to live their own life.
He'd say you're just not trying hard enough lol. "Comfort zone" and other such nonsense.
On point
Hmmm... that's true.
Yes. I love living a life that is worth talking about.
Amazing🔥🔥🔥

A hard pill to swallow.
I'm not asking how to make stories, i have it already. How to tell it more engagingly that's my question, talk about that
