@aoeugb yes I did. So they miss timed it some. I bet you're the kind of person who looks a gift horse in the mouth. Just enjoy it for what it is and tryst they'll mess up again, cause they're human.
@@aoeugbI've never watched this podcast a single time, all audio only for me. You're telling me you prefer to spend your time sitting down to watch people sit at a table and talk?
I was 6 years old when I got my first cat 🐈 literally orange like the emoji, I watched my grandfather come over shove him in a rubber boot and use a pair of my grandmothers sewing scissors, snip a hole, pop one out, snip it off, pop the other one out and snip it off, dump iodine on the scrotum, pull my cat out and my cat crawl into his lap and fall asleep like, "bro, those were causing me so much trouble, thanks" 🤣 😅
@@drewstreetar03 It started out as his brother speaking out against some hunting influences, etc. Then it evolved into hating RRR, public land advocacy, any forms of hunting being made public, etc. He got mad that people were at his 'secret' trailheads. and wants hunter numbers to decline.
I raced olympic distance triathlons for 15 years and it requires you to be mentally and physically tough, it made me an awesome bowhunter. It does change you!
Eagle cap, Eugene/Springfield, country roads, spot and stalk. I'm out on camp creek rd. So damn nice to see/hear someone/stories from someone that probably knows/been the places I've been. Awesome
It's pretty cool to watch it progressively get dark on them talking, it makes one think of how the time slips by on my own conversations with good friends out in the field
Every time we’ve use the call it works. And it is when we are stocking them but they get too hard ahead of us. When you a call from the area, they just previously were at and that was safe, it really draws their attention.
As a Texan, please understand..with the influx of people moving to Texas. Many of them do not hold Texas ideals and values. (especially Houston). Its your land..you do what you want.
Brazos vs Brazonia vs ? Not sure which is the correct location as I heard a N in one description but recall a Brazoria while once driving in Texas. Curious is all.🤔
So Brazos county is NW of us. It’s where College Station is located. I reside in Brazoria County. It’s pronounced bruh-zor-e-uh. 😂 but even the locals butcher it, so no harm done! But yes, there was an entire Commissioner’s Court meeting in regards to this. Not sure what the outcome was, but you could probably google it and find the answer fairly quickly.
My mom and her sister neutered 2 of our cats in our garage. I must have been 7-8. They stuck the cats in the sleeve of one of my dad’s work coats. My aunt wasn’t a vet but she had a very small farm and we lived on a farm as well.
My grandfather used a boot and rusty knife to fix a tomcat on his ranch. One of my uncles had to lend him his knife to finish the job. Not sure exactly when this event took place.
They come to the distress call really well if they walk past where you are at. If you were on their trail behind them and you call, they will definitely return them to the area which they just previously thought was clear five minutes ago, and now they think they left the baby behind. If you randomly call them not from their their recent path, they are more likely to run.
Talking about the difference between Steve being a generalist hunter and Cam being a big game bow hunter only. I wonder how Cam would do spear fishing with Steve and if he'd enjoy that.
Running into y’all in Raymondville getting lunch or something after a morning hunt would be cool… Go check out the big friendly bucks in port Mansfield about 25 mins away, keep coming down to south Texas. Some of the coolest coastal land all the way to the river. Do some fishing down here. Enjoy this gem of Texas most people don’t even know exist, and maybe don’t tell too many people either lol. Jk always cool to see y’all way down south.
have you heard about monkey island in beaufort sc? they were brought to the island in the 70's (i think 70's) for research and they are all infected with hepatitis? it's within paddling distance from shore and closed to civilians?
Y'all should have had "Chad" for your name 50 years ago. I'm 58 now. Noone and I mean noone was named Chad in the 60s & 70s. I think I was 18 before I heard of another Chad. Oh well.. my parents were awesome so I'm good with it now. Great live outdoor show!
Come to the Mississippi Delta and go hunt in Dahomey national forest. You’ll find out real quick how dominant hogs have become. No more turkeys and the deer numbers are falling.
Here in WV in a small town we have some millionaires who bought the local landfill and have already had 1 spill because they don't know what they're doing and now have bought up more land to ship in Asbestos from 22 other states. We live next to a large river, probably going to make the national headlines soon.
Wait so sus scrofa domesticus (s.domesticus) has a corkscrew penis, yet is known to be the "same" as the wild boar. Ole boney from the trail cam pics doesn't look like that at all? It looks straight? Yet they can interbreed? Signed, Confused in PA, Ralph Thomas
I love meateater, I hate how many new hunters Steve has created. The South Florida Osceola hunt almost broke me. It used to take about 4 points to draw. After that episode, I know it's going to double!
As a multi-generational Texans true and thru.... we don't all like this exotic crap everywhere. We love personal freedoms, but when rich assholes start putting tigers and monkeys and shit on ranches it is getting out of hand.
Same here. I’m all for the exotic game ranches, especially ones that are helping prolong species lifetimes that’ve become endangered in their own habitat(Scimitar Oryx) but something like a monkey farm seems not only ridiculous but potentially dangerous. It wasn’t too long ago that a research facility in Florida had monkeys escape that were infected with either Herpes complex or some other highly contagious disease
When you all talk about being COMPLETELY indifferent to killing things when you were younger, as opposed to being a bit LESS indifferent now, at an older age, don’t you think maybe it’s due to your age/testosterone levels? A little more impulsive, a little more aggressive… Just wondering if perhaps nature has built you all to be more indifferent to killing when you’re in your “prime” simply for survival and warring reasons. Just a thought.
No. That indifference for me was prior to puberty. I had no issues shooting birds, squirrels, gigging frogs etc when I was a kid. However, as soon as I started experiencing death (mentor/football coach died, grandmother, a friend killed herself) I think I started to appreciate it a bit more and especially when I had kids it changed. I dont think it has anything to do with hormones and more to do with life experience. You just arent around death as much as a kid as you are an adult.
Hammering hogs means something very different where I come from lol
We call it "sloppin" down south.... 😂😂😂😂
🤣
hahahahahahhaha yesssss
More cushion
Do hogs mean your sister?
Definitely enjoy these "On Scene" podcasts. Plus, having two of my favorite hunters on the same podcasts makes this that much better.
Just curious. Did you watch the whole podcast? Do you really enjoy looking at a black screen for 20 minutes?

Anything related to hunting, while being filmed, would be against his wishes.

The most enjoyable podcast I have listened to or watched yet. Tanks Cam and the Meateater crew.
I’ve been waiting for this colab for a very long time. This one should be great!!
Happy family day to everyone from Ontario Canada 🐕🫡
Love this, always wanted to see Steven Rinella and Caneron Hanes together on a podcast, amazing, thank you, and hope to see more in the future
Having this outside is so fitting. Love it when you're on location!
Loving these "outside" podcasts!!

all right! Another fantastic "field-cast"

My friend (a pig farmer) and I once neutered my big orange tom. I have been part of nutting pigs and calfs, and none of that was as difficult!
Make all those pep talks one of your shirt lists, like the things turkeys gobble at! Put Roy’s at the top
Funny how the potted plant must be the go-to place! I did the same once 25 yo.
There was a small population of monkeys in a small town down here in Texas, I don’t recall where or how

I grew up near the area you guys are at. That's one of the most game rich areas in Texas. Be 100% sure cats you shoot it. That's Ocelot territory.
