Love the B - roll from Mrs C, like a pro. I remember what it's like on site , a race between sparks and plumbers for space - cables vs pipes. Big up to you both .
Big up sir she will be happy with that thank you
Yeah it can be a nightmare especially in one room 😂😂 we get it done tho don’t we 😂
Good to know lads and always helps to hear a little refresh from experienced lads. Every days a school day 👍
Cheers dude thanks again for the continued support sir BIG UP
Excellent video. The wiring montage was just brilliant. Big up yourselves.
Thank you good sir
Very nooice lads...
I agree with the kitchen ring rather than radial...
👍
NOICE your a legend that’s y 👊
Enjoyed this guys! Picked up a couple of nifty tricks, cheers
Legend thanks 🙏
Nice work Jack. Nice B roll. Your misses is doing some great editing work. Keep it going buddy.
Cheers mate I’ll tell her
Thank you much appreciated
"FANTASTICO" and "FULLBOLLOK" for this weeks words
Hahahaha two fantastic words aswell might I add
Interesting watch! As an Australian spark, its interesting to see you guys still use ring circuits, as well as solid core cables.
Ayyy that’s awesome that your watching from over there Thankyou,
What are you using over there for kitchen, I only use rings in kitchens now to be fair also what cable do you use?
@@JRCElectrical We use Radials for everything here! We also have laundry rooms in every house so no washing machines in the kitchen. Usually 4 power circuits per house, kitchen/laundry/half the house/ the other half. We also use 7 core stranded cable! Standard is 90°C. You can buy solid core but it's not common these days.
Great as always 👍
Thank you fine sir
Nice explanation Jack. And thanks for slowing down the footage of Scotty, man he moves fast when he’s working 😂
He does indeed
Need to slow him down to stop his shoes melting off
Every time ‘run the ting’ 😅 gets me without fail
💪 😂😂
This was a great video
Cheers dude
Editings got loads better 🎉
I’ll tell her she will love that coming from you 😂😂
As a recently retired JIB GOLD card industrial electrician of 50 years,I'm old school and a huge fan of final ring circuits ,I've never wired a final ring circuit in cable less than 4mm sometimes in 6mm ,with these modern socket outlets with 2 earth terminals you split the incoming and outgoing cpc in separate earth terminals,if you lose one of the cpcs your circuit will continue to give the whole circuit a functional cpc which you wouldn't get say if your first socket list it's incoming cpc then your whole circuit is left with no earth function, this thing about the price is bs pecause I know contractors etc 75% off the price of coils of twin and earth,so for me ringmains all day long far enough upstairs bedrooms don't require ringmains because the power they are pulling is next to nothing
Yeah we tend to run radial circuits for upstairs, radial for downstairs and ring circuit for kitchens as that’s where the main draw is. If tested and not messed with tho a radial is safe as your testing if the earthing is continuous throughout.
If a ring circuit is broken there is potential for 32amps to run down 1 leg of 2.5 so I can see arguments for both sides
I am learning about this for some basic DIY at home so my knowledge is very limited. Could I please ask couple of questions:
1. How do you know or find out whether your system is ring circuit or a radial one?
2. If you have a ring circuit, my understanding is that you can only spur off a socket once. How would you know/find out, the socket you are taking the connection from is part of the ring and not a spur off socket itself?
Didn’t know that but now I know but the trouble is I need some extensions for self and Love your videos
What do you mean extensions dude? Thanks for watching sir big up
@@JRCElectrical I do Sending a request for a quote but I forgot to add one for the kitchen as I need an extra socket putting in for a small dishwasher on the counter and outdoor ring flood light for later on
@@f26247 ahhhh I’ve not long seen this on tradify, I will give you a call tommorow to discuss 👍👍
Big ups from NZ
Yooooo NZ BIG UP that’s class
I always avoid ring finals. Prefer to put the appliances on a 4mm radial and sockets on a 2.5mm radial. Does mean having two circuits and two RCBOs though.
People do it all sorts of different ways, mad isn’t it really that’s a good shout tho
Nice little b roll at the end jack
Cheers mate I’ll tell the editor 😎 she will be happy 😂😂
Big up 🙌🏽
Big up az me mon
Great 👍
Thanks Eric
New Subscriber, say you on one of Nick's videos. He did not link you in the main post but saw your post in the comments.
Ahoy sir welcome, I hope you enjoy 👊
Hi. Just a quick question ⁉️ is 2.5mm2 cable for sockets in the workshop? The max I would be running of the socket is a table saw 2.2kw and a dust extractor 1.1 kw at the same time. Any help much appreciated!!!
3300w works out at 14.34amps
If your feeding it from a spur the spur will only hold 13amp fuse so it will be too much
Run dat ring!! 👍👍
Rrrrrrrrrun d ting
Nice video again guys, is Scotty looking for a modelling career with that slo mo walk and look back lol made me laugh anyways .
Like he’s auditioning for a new only fans 😂😂

Noiceeeeeee 💪🏼
Noice sir big up
Agree on the rings, 4mm radials are hassle,
Gonna quiz you now, what are the different colour earth clamps are for? 🤔
.
Yes I know 😂
Different locations so if it’s in a wet location and ting, I used red
Because I had red on the van 😂😂
🎉winner 😂😂😂
Red - internal/dry
Blue - wet or dry
Green - wet or hazardous

NICEIC inspector asked me a few years ago and I said - hot or cold taps 😂

I did for some of it dude 👍👍🤙🤙
@@JRCElectrical Ah yeah - hadn't got to the end ;)
Fantastico, Run the ting
RUN IT 🏃
would you mix ring finals and radials in same property ?
Yeah we usually do ring kitchen and up and down radials
Here's a comment... RUN DA TING 🍻🍻🍻😂😂😂
The best of comments 🤙🤙🤙
Surely now you have wired new circuits into the consumer unit you have to comply with the 18th edition and upgrade the consumer unit from a plastic one to a metal one
No sir because it’s an existing installation that still passes all the tests all protected and to regs just not a metal board which wouldn’t fail an eicr anyway
@@JRCElectrical That just isn't true,if an existing installation is altered or you wire new circuits into that existing installation then it all has to come up to the 18th edition,if you were just doing an visible inspection that's different,
@@davidclarke2513 I did not no this then, I’ve always thought if the installation and consumer unit is all protected and to regs then you can wire into it, I stand corrected if that’s the case tho
Big up ya grans
Big up eerrrrrrrbody
big up yourself
Big up you sir 👊
2 radials in a kitchen for me if possible. It takes an extra way in the CU. Easier to test and in most cases any Line neutral break by kitchen fitters then the next socket just won't work. I've encountered way too many broken ring circuits in kitchens.
Your content just gets better 😜👍.
Thank you sir, yeah there’s loads of different ways to do it really and interesting How different people do things
Radial 4 mm twin and earth on 32A
Saving time and money
What about when u want to add something and spur off? Can’t get more than 2 4mm into a socket it’s a nightmare
You can use a wago socket new version
@@emilgemc8913 👀 I shall look into this, last time I did they were poo
Poo
😂😂😂😂
If is a poo then you can pis on top of it
@@emilgemc8913 ‘tis true sir
Yes boys
Ahoy Gary big up
Radials fused at 20amp is a no no as fast as I’m concerned. No one these days takes into consideration one day there might be a reason for extra capacity. I have been to houses where the boiler has failed or a bust pipes and the customer has gone out to argos and bought 3 or 4 convector heaters to heat or dry the house out. Not a problem with a 32a ring . I have even used 4mm to wire a ring if it’s a long circuit.
Nice to see you do a proper job with the bonding and conduit over the cables
Yeah I see what your saying, this is a fair point but I’ve also heard other people saying about rings not being safe because of possible open ring and being left undetected, I’m sure we’re the only country wiring ring finals aswell. 🤷♂️
Thanks for watching
@@JRCElectrical even with radials you could have a earth come disconnected in say the first socket. The rest of the sockets would still work and the customer wouldn’t know as the circuit would still work . Very unlikely I know but just a example. We could go on all day about the pros and cons so probably best to leave it now. Thanks for your reply
@@andysims4906 agreed it’s always good to hear different peoples opinions tho as everybody looks at things differently, thanks for ure comments dude
Loved the music when you was using the multi tool, I thought I was watching a porno 😅
😂😂 a proper 80s porno
