House Of Broken Love by Great White
Yes, definitely a must !!
Face the Day
YES!!! Emotional!!!
My favorite from great white
100 percent.
Underrated band.
Very
I don't like throwing the term underrated around it's so overused, but Great White was definitely underrated and underappreciated, they were awesome musicians, they went through the whole LA 80s scene. And because of bad management they never got to where they should have been.
VERY VERY
@@kurtsaxton823 And The Station fire tarnished their legacy
@@laurencedassen4264 yeah but I don't really think that was their fault. Definitely didn't help.
“Save all your love” is sooooo beautiful…❤
House
Of broken love is a must
These guys and Tesla always got lumped in with hair bands because of the times and their look but both were just solid, blues-based rock.
I've been saying that for years.
Both killer bands also
Especially the criminally under-rated Tesla. Still rockin' since 1989.
You can add White Lion to that group
Bands that have long hair BUT Not Hair Bands! Rock On! 🎸
Amazing band.. Criminally underrated..
agreed, on my driving play list ..
By far, Great White's best song
"Lady Red Light" and "All Over Now" is somewhat similar. Else check out "House of Broken Love".. Slow but very good.
House Of Broken Love banger, you’ll love the guitar groove all the way through the song
Keep going. "House Of Broken Love" is awesome, if not their best.
House of broken love
Once Bitten, Twice Shy was a cover song, originally written and sung by Ian Hunter (formerly of Mott The Hoople). This one is all Great White and a bluesy metal song!! My favorite by them!
This one is on the Once Bitten album. Like you said Once Bitten Twice Shy is the title track to the following album. I prefer Once Bitten more than the follow up though. I'm glad these guys listened to the studio version of this song. The video version was heavily edited.
Another great song as lady red light is a banger
I was living in Boston at the time of the nightclub fire where 100 people died at one of their shows. Such a tragedy and I still can't help thinking of it everytime I hear them.
Same - it’s the first thing I think of. Always.
And if you knew someone.
The site of that nightclub is on my commute. It's eerie to see the place where so many died in just a few minutes.
@@turdferguson3475 Do they have a memorial or did they put up a Chik-fil-A?
@@bloodnthuner There is a memorial, kind of a small park with lots of stonework.
The Angel Song by Great White is one of my all time favorite rock ballads!!
“Hollywood ain’t paved with gold. It’s just a trick of light.” Lyrics to the song are spot on.
@abdab7 thank you for sharing the Angel Song ❤️. I knew they had a third big hit but couldn't remember the name. Now, it seems like, the rockers are fading out and leaving the power ballad to country artists.😅
Rock bands that incorporate some blues, always adds something special to a song. BANGER!!!
Glad you did the album version. the official video is edited down to about half the running time.
🎶 Face The Day 🎶Great White
Is Face The Day an Angel City cover?
@@gregv8645yes
@@gregv8645 Yes
Face the day both groups do awesome versions of that song.😅😅😅
Rest In Peace Jack Russell!! Sad Day!😭♥
Rip😢
Great white is a blues band with balls.
Save all your love!!! A great one.
I saw Great White open for Judas Priest in 1984 having no idea who they were. They performed worthy of being the opening band for Priest. 💯🤘
RIP Jack Russell 🙏
Legends never die. ❤
You guys need to do house of broken love now, that one is really bluesy and the entire intro is 🔥
Love the build on this song! This is a GREAT driving song.
I was supposed to attend their show in 2003 at the Station club…we arrived late because we could not find it. The Station was fully engulfed when we arrived. We arrived a good 15 min before law enforcement arrived .we were unable to even get close because of the heat smoke ….it changed my life , it was 20 years before I went to a indoor concert and even now I locate all exits , and stay fairly close to them
As the one's below say ..."House of broken love" is a must.
Great band! Great reaction! You need to go save your love
Check out”House of Broken Love” great guitar solo!
You can probably tell by the sound of that voice that Great White could do KILLER covers of Zep tunes, and often did so in concert. Underrated band. Sound similar to The Scorpions as well imo.
They did an entire album of Zep covers called Great Zeppelin , recorded live from Bakersfield CA.
@@rogerdaly6326 wow…cool. I’ll check it out. Easy money for Zep too.
Great white is the band I've seen the most live. Because they opened for everyone in the 80's
This song was a classic. I never really got into Great White (fault of my own), but they had some good songs, but this was was the one when it came on the radio, you just had to crank it up and get lost in it. I do have it on my playlist now though.
Great band! Save all your love, lady red light, angel song, keep going!
I used to work with a guy who thought they were saying "broccoli" instead of "rock me" and now I can't unhear it 😂😂😂😂
You should check out House of Broken Love.. very good bluesy/rock sound.
My band opened up for a band named Dante Fox @ the Woodstock in Buena Park, CA.... That night they got signed and changed their name to Great White.... They were so good even back then.... Prayers up guys❤️🙏
Saw them so many times live!!!!!! Jack(lead singer)is phenomenal! Great reaction video! Thank you!
At their height they were a great band to see live. Awesome Zeppelin covers as well.
Saw them live in Billings, Montana with Whitesnake. They were great.
The third Great White song you will definitely want to check out is "House Of Broken Love"!!!!!
Everyone overlooks the first 2 albums..out of the night and face the day we're so underrated
Still one of the greatest songs in Rock n Roll
Cool Tunes Boys and girls !
Never really a fan of the big hair bands in the 80s, but something about Great Rock hooked me. This song was the first one I heard by them. Enjoyed your reaction!
I saw them as the opening act for Whitesnake in Portland, Maine, July 22, 1988. They were phenomenal as were Whitesnake.
They were outstanding live!! They cover Led Zeppelin excellently!! Love them and miss them.
What are my absolute favorites!!
Phil’s hand movements are funny !
This song is from the album Once Bitten. The song Once Bitten Twice Shy was off of the later album Twice Shy.. both great albums. Bluesy hard rock greatness.
Once bitten twice shy (great song)
This song is off the Once Bitten album, "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" is off the Twice Shy album.
Great White has many great songs and they do really Great Led Zeppelin covers
They have an entire album of Zeppelin covers called Great Zeppelin recorded live from Bakersfield CA.
A+++! There best song!
Great White was formed in 1977 and was a precursor of the 1980’s metal genre.
hi from UK, my two fav tunes from this band are DESERT MOON and MONKEY ON MY BACK, great songs and great reactions guys
This album had the cleanest production of any album (CD) I owned during this time. Pristine sound.
Once Bitten Twice Shy that Great White did in 1989 was actually a cover, originally done by Ian Hunter in 1975.
Love the way they take you into this song and the way they show you out. Underrated band AND singer. If there's Bluesy undertones, I'm in.
I'm certain you both would appreciate their "House of Broken Love". One video has nice big slices of them performing mixed in the video story. You'll love it's ending drums. ☮️
Samantha was all in on this one when they cranked it up!💯 Chair dancin', head bangin', air guitar, and air drums!😂 Phil, you're cool, just not as animated as Sam.👍Still lovin', y'all's channel, you make me smile, sing, and dance, every day! Thank you.🤗❤️✌️
The outro guitar solo is one of my favorites!
Seen them several times live awesome show yay, Jack Russell is good, good review 🎸🎸🎤🥁🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another good reaction. What hurt this band a lot is when they played the stage nightclub in Providence Rhode Island. A fire broke out from the pyrotechnics and someone had locked every door but the entrance many people were trapped in the fire and died. It was not the bands fault, but the memories haunted them for years and they could not get booked anywhere. They were a great band. Can you react to SAVE YOUR LOVE? My favorite song by them. Great love ballad.
It was The Station in West Warwick RI
They didn't lock the doors either. Everyone ran for the front door preventing anyone from opening the door as it opened in. There was alternate exits that barely anyone used
@theOGnokk you better do some research people could not escape because of locked doors...
@theOGnokk yeah the station, my bad. It was a long time ago, and it hurt their carreer.
@@denniswhitney6147 I know for a FACT that the doors swung inside because I was a frequent patreon there. They never locked the doors. You should do some research before trying to tell someone else to.
Turn it up to 11!
This is one of my favorite bands. I highly recommend Step on You, Old Rose Motel, Doctor Me or The Big Goodbye.
Check out House of Broken Love if you want to hear more bluesy-rock Great White.
This song is from the album Once Bitten. The song Once Bitten Twice Shy was off of the later album Twice Shy.. both great albums. Bluesy hard rock greatness. She Only and Save Your Love are two awesome ballads to check out.
Don't forget Afterglow...... that was the favorite ballad of the ladies!
Great song
Great band on its own. Also one of the greatest Led Zeppelin cover bands
I think you would enjoy "The Angel Song" , but please do the music video if you would.....Great White is one of my favorite groups.....
You got to see this video!
Definitely one of my favorite bands as a teenager in the late 80's ❤
The real video is excellent
Alot of ppl on here are saying House of Broken Love and I totally agree. A great Blues toned song. It's a must listen to.
Seeing them twice in concert was amazing. A great But underrated band. Jack Russell a great voice. CC Deville awesome guitarist.
When was CC Deville in Great White?
@@cookypuss8603 your right my mistake
Great song, instalike!
So many memories with this song! I was 17 when it came out😎😎🔥🔥
Great song and the great guitar player John Sykes
The guitar player was Mark Kendall , Sykes was with Whitesnake , Thin Lizzy and Blue Murder.
Never heard this but love it!
Great catch about the drum fills Phil! Definitely some great drumming in this one!
They were the right band at the right time back then-
'Rock Me' is from the album 'Once Bitten' along with 'Lady Red Light', Save All Your Love' and 'Mistreater'. 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' is from the follow up album 'Twice Shy'.
Great song!!! Now y’all gotta do “Lady Red Light”….this is from “Once Bitten” as well. It’s got an edge to it y’all. You’ll love it 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Also, you should really see the MTV unplugged version of Led Zeppelin"s I'm gonna leave you that Great White does...it is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
Great band and super cool guys. I got to hang out with them on their tour bus during their "Sail Away" tour. Man! You have to listen to:
House of Broken Love
Face the Day
Lady Red Light
Sail Away
The Angel Song
Old Rose Motel
And so many more!
Totally agree on House of Broken Love. 3 great guitar solos in one song. I _LOVE_ great guitar and this song's got it.
I have never played the guitar in my life. As a drummer however I really appreciate that killer bass guitar riff. I love playing songs like this. If you want to hear a similar one, which is a little dirtier and sleazy, check out the track Slow and Easy by Whitesnake.
Great White is such a great rock band... They were much more than hair and girls in music videos; they had a great groove and bluesy delivery that made them unique in the L.A. scene... Jack Russell (vocals) and Mark Kendall (lead guitar) formed the band as kids in the 70's and Great White took off after years of struggling in 1987 w/ the line-up of Michael Lardie (guitar/ keyboards) and Audie Desbrow (drums)... their 3rd album 'Once bitten' going platinum... followed by 'Twice shy' in 1989 selling 2x platinum in the US.
Their biggest single was a cover of Ian Hunter's "Once bitten twice shy"... but they also scored MTV hits like 'Rock me' ... the ballads 'The Angel song' ... 'House of broken love' ... 'Save your love'... 🔥🤘
5th album 'Hooked' in 1991 sold gold (half million copies) w/ the singles - 'Desert moon' ... "Call it rock n' roll" .
The 90's grunge era came in by 1992 and sank Great White's commercial popularity... their 6th album 'Psycho city' in 1992 was one of their best records but it sold under half million copies... Standout songs - 'Step on you' ... 'Old Rose Motel' ... 'Big goodbye'... 🔥🔥🔥
...but it was more fashionable to listen to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, R.E.M. in the 90's than an 80's band like Great White.
Great White still released some stellar records - 'Sail away' in 1993... 'Let it rock' (1996)... 'Great Zeppelin: a tribute to Led Zeppelin' (1998) and "Can't get there from here" (1999) before the band split up in 2001.
Jack Russell and Mark Kendall reformed Great White and eventually reunited w/ Michael Lardie and Audie Desbrow after the Station Club fire tragedy in Rhode Island... Sadly, Jack Russell's declining health from alcohol abuse led to him being ousted from Great White.
Today, Great White is still touring w/ a succession of lead singers... while Jack Russell is back touring w/ his own band Jack Russell's Great White.
Seen them in concert in 1987 and they were incredible.
Once bitten twice shy is not a Great White song, it was a cover and probably the only song they did that I did not like. It also was not on the same album as Rock me. Great White is known for the killer metal bluesy rock. Definitely an underrated band of the 80's. Got to see them live twice!! The Rock Me album was my favorite! Every song on it was Smokin and the ballad Save your Love is badass too❤😂🎉
Now you are enjoying a Great White song!!!
Rock Me
Love it ❤
……sad that every time I hear Great White I get instantly sad 😢🙏🏻 R.I.P. to all ❤️ had friends who never came home.
February 20 (2003) 🙏🏻
Seen them a few times in the 80’s and 90’s .. Even have a few albums signed by the mid 80’s lineup ..
You _HAVE TO_ do "House of Broken Love". My favorite by them. Also, check out "Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy and "Take Your Fingers From My Hair" by Zebra.🦓
I’m grateful that you reacted to the long version. The radio version (also for the music video) is missing some of best parts of the song.
Another great song!!❤❤
Awesome guys!!!❤❤❤
GW has a huge catalog of great songs. Also try Desert Moon, Can’t Shake It, Mista Bone, Baby’s On Fire as a start. So many others…
lady red light, old rose motel, and shot in the dark are also solid tunes from great white.
Definitely check out Save Your Love off the same album as Rock Me (Once Bitten from 1987). Also check out House of Broken Love off of Twice Shy (the same album that Once Bitten Twice Shy is off of from 1989)
Hey Guys!!! Here's a LIVE Video to the "Great-Zeppelin" Post that I just made!!!
