Here it is at last, the conclusion to the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, 20 months after I uploaded the first episode of FF13, what a journey... It's time to see the fate of Lightning and her friends as they face the final day of the world together, will they all be a part of Bhunivelze's new world? This video also contains the secret ending AFTER THE CREDITS courtesy of my friend splitplaythru who was kind enough to let me use his video...
I just want to thank everyone who watched this series and took the time to like and write such nice comments. It has been a very busy two weeks (take a look at how long the FFXIII and FFXIII-2 movies took to make in comparison), but I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and even though I didn't like the game too much for the first 6-7 hours, as the story progressed and the battle system shone through it really ended on a high note for me and I was left with those classic "feels" once the credits started rolling...
This game/trilogy polarised a lot of fans, but having played all three and invested hundreds of hours on them in total, I have to say that even though they are not the best FF's ever made, they were well worth playing and left me with some nice memories... In total this trilogy has almost 24 hours of story content spanning hundreds of hours of total gameplay, 12-14 times as much as a regular feature film. Not many games give as much bang for their buck as FF's.... Quantity is not an indicator of quality of course, but whatever you think about the quality of the story, you cannot deny that they poured a lot of time and effort into making this trilogy. Whether that time should have been spent on a different story/title is another matter...
Thank you to Square Enix for their years of effort to create this series, I still think FF13 was the best looking game of the PS3 generation. In my humble opinion, when it comes to games where the story and emotions are just as important as the gameplay, not many developers out there do it better... Hopefully the next release can win back some of the old fans that they lost...

I would like you all to know how much Final Fantasy XIII changed my life even though it's just a game. Before I saw the first one, I was a pathetic, depressed emotional loser who hated everything even myself. I was reckless and suicidal but that all changed when I met Lighting and the gang. (Ironic isn't it?) Even though they're just fictional characters, they felt like the real deal. Lightning motivated me to change. Like she said "It's not a question of can or can't. It's something in life we just do" I started being more productive. I stopped being the incompetent and spineless coward I am because of her. She gave me hope and a reason to live happily. She made me realize of what was ahead of me. A bright future I can mold myself. Thank you Lightning! Thank you for changing me. I'm happy for her and sad at the same time because this is the last time we will see you. I hope SquareEnix could pop her up again in the future.

ShyGuy Peach I am same as you. I suffer from a health issue, thanks to Lightning, I found the courage, the strength, and hope to continue my life no matter how dark or impossible it is. Your story should be known more
I just watched the whole game. The feels I'm feeling right now simply cannot be described. To all who say the FFXIII series sucks, shove it. This was brilliant.
I agree. While the first one didn't make much sense, the second and third games tied everything together nicely. I like how the other games in the Nova Crysialis companion fit with it too.

dansg08, like I've said before, your videos allow a window into the FF universe for the many of us who would never be able to complete a FF game let alone a Trilogy Saga. We simply don't have the time or patience. But your movies allow for the FF storyline to come through clearly without getting muddled by side-quests and game mechanics. It's a huge bonus you can do this in full 1080p. I'm also glad you kept some battles in the movie. Your editing was fantastic! I can't imagine how much time this took you. And you still cranked the episodes lightning fast! (no pun intended) Thanks.
Thanks, it has been the goal all along, ever since I made the first movie for FFX. Not everyone has the time/resources to play and complete these games, but I think they have stories that are worth sharing, and I try to do that through these movie versions so that the gameplay side of things doesn't get in the way of the story. If my videos help people get into Final Fantasy then that's great. That's what this site is for, to share our experiences with the world, and that is what I'm trying to do :)

Looks more like English countryside. France is very flat, much flatter than where Light was.
+raquelborn Well, the writings on the sign and on the wall are French. "Gare" means train station in French. Also southern France is quite hilly - the Pyrenees and the Alps are there, you know.
If I have to guess where in France Claire is, my first guess would be Provence. Hills, wine fields, brilliant weather, the Mediterranean - perfect place for a hero to have a vacation.

Finally, I was really waiting for Noel to finally get Yuel back. No disrespect to the Serah-Snow fans but I find the Noel-Yuel story to be a bit more interesting. Anyways, all in all this game, Final Fantasy 13, 13-2 & LR:FF13 have officially replaced FF10 & 10-2 as my favorite. I'm sorry to all the fans of the older games but for me this game takes the cake because it was so much more different with it characters and it's storyline. Square-Enix took a big chance when they made this game because they decided to stray away from they're usual way of making games. And I think it worked out well. Final Fantasy 13 series was refreshing.
replace ff10's story? get the fuck out, if any game designer wants to create perfection they must experience ff10.

I hope Final Fantasy continues to change because if thy start trying to relieve the glory days, by producing games like 10 and 7 again. It's gonna make it obvious that Final fantasy and Square are washed up, has beens.

+Jman I think it all had to do with the lighning character. They made her so unrelatable it threw off the whole plot.
I don't like how IGN gave this a 7.0 and said all the characters lost their development... I did think that for Sazh, but not for Snow and people fail to realize (even after seeing the ending, surprisingly) that the Hope throughout the game was a complete fake. The closure for this trilogy was really good, actually. There were some stumbles in the story, sure, but the only major problem I saw was the fact that there were only 2 parts with Cinematics -- the introduction and the ending.
It's because programmers didn't get much budget to realize it, that's why the game is based especially on completing missions and it's "poor" with the story part. And that's a pity because LRFFXIII had strong possibilities to become one of the greatest FF ever... :(

I have really enjoyed these vids and they quickly became my youtube highlight of the day. Thanks a lot for uploading these, I don't own a PS3 so I would have never been able to experience the story of this game otherwise.

Everytime I watch videos like this,it always gets me to the feels. It's like you played the game yourself but not. I really wanna play the series. And the plot twist though. Thanks Dansg08 for a wonderful gameplay.

i swear, i just keep falling in love with the FF franchise over and over again... some tittles may be not as good as others, but they all have their own charm and get the attetion of different kind of players, but they are still just what i need to get some real enjoyable time and experience.
I had so much fun playing through FFXIII and FFXIII-2, then Lightning Returns gave me so much feels and a really enjoyable gameplay. I must say, i enjoyed watching the cutscenes again with your work.
So thank you very much for uploading this. It makes me want to play all three games from the very beggining again, which i will defenetly do once i get a little time.

After I saw for the second time, it is our planet, at the minute 54:44 you can see the Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain) and then France, and they indeed, all of them landed on France.

I have never played this game. But I watched this one video (Part 17) to the end. And I must say... the story and the concept is truly beautiful. I am glad to have witnessed it.
Also... this is a fantasy game. However, the fact that it supports science (life in other planets, or aliens are more advanced that we are), that it questions the existence and power of God, that it seeds the idea of souls to never die if hearts never forget them, and that it shouts humanity to be truly powerful... make it truer than just a mere fantasy.
Also... the scene after the credits... it make me feel like I'm Lighting reborn. :P

This was one of the coolest, weirdest and most interesting Final Fantasy Universe yet. I enjoy all the Final Fantasy Universes, but this one was extra special. I can't wait for XV.

I'm sure that this project took you hours of work to complete. I'm sure now you can catch up on some Zzzz's haha. It was crazy, I legit was on my way back from the bar and I take out my phone and go " I wonder if he posted up the rest of the lightning return series I need to tune in to see what happens next!"and Bam! There it was :-) these RPG's are crazy as you become so enthralled with the story, I was actually tuning in daily as if this was a primetime television show thats crazy! Very creative and well done put together... Great job bro! I definitely will be tuning in your channel to see what else you do.

Final Fantasy 15 was my first final fantasy, but I was so much engrossed with the story of the 13 that even though I didn't have the opportunity to play any of the games in the series, I cried like a baby at the end of this. This was brilliant and I hope someday there will be a story just as great this in another series. Goodbye Claire

One of my favourite scenes in the one between 1:46 and 3:40 :') I cried so much that when I reached the end and realised it was happy I cried 10 times more.

I watched the psp game Crisis Core like this too, Which was really nice seeing as I wont buy a psp for just one game. This is a very nice way to experience a final fantasy game. Even if playing it yourself might have been better. 9hrs of movie entertainment is really not something offered by many other games.
hahaha we have the same thoughts on just playing the game when it release on PC version XD hehehe i don't want some overheating console because i play almost non stop when day off amf.

I remember when I was younger and had just finished the game, I loved the idea that Lightning was traveling to visit Serah and Snow who were able to have their soft, happy lives together, just like everybody else in the series. It always made my heart warm. ♥

Hah~~~~ This ending just redeemed the series itself. At first, I thought it was just enough to have the first one and the second and third could just die. But this ending just made me love it. Probably due to the ending of the second one kinda ticking me off. Now the end makes me wish that there was a secret clip where they meet up again sometime in the future (PLEASE I want to see an animation of some sort to see them all reunite once more)

is it me, or when all the souls went to the new world, looked more like the 'lifestream'? the concept of using this kind of form/illustration during the game and reincarnation... is like the concept from 7? just sayin'.
another is that.... hell! that was awesome! i seriously love 13 when i first watched it (i don't have the console or game, so i only watched it here in youtube), i love the ending so much XD but then, 13-2 came along and i was like, "they were happy now! they have a happy ending! why separate them again?! why make them all miserable and apart?! and now, putting this cliff hanger?!" (sorry about my fit...). but then, i saw the ending and the trailer of LR, and i was totally hooked! the stories! it so good T.T its like i read another book with good ending TuT i really looked up on Square, they make awesome stories, game system, background, and the concept for the characters, aw men, so unparalleled! i want to make characters like that in my writing.
for the ending, it was both closure and not. Closure, because they will get to see each other again. I'm guessing, based on the modern day at the scene, hundreds of years have passed and the cycle of rebirth takes place, with the same souls, all over again. They've been dying and reborn, until the ending scene. I don't know how Light remembers though. Anyway, they get to see each other.
Not closure, because, heck!! i want to see them all together! who wouldn't? Serah's wedding, and, if Hope gets any hotter than he was? Or Noel and Yeul, finally together? And if Dajh ever grows up, and Sazh, old as he shoud've been? Or Vanille and Fang's new life? Or Lightning and Hope gets together? ( sorry, i think they're like brother and sister in my view, but i totally ship them >///

I know, people tend to hate what they don't understand. My only criticism/worry initially was how the new clock mechanic would play out, but now I've experienced it, I quite enjoy it :)
The after credits scene gave me chills! I haven't really liked FFXIII much at all, but this last one was good.

Honestly, I felt worried about Lightning Returns after seeing average/poor reviews on it, even having FF13 get on a few top worst list, but... Holy Marlow Briggs this game surprised me a lot, and Ienjoyed it a lot.
So Iwish to join the crowd and say this, I thank you Dan for the uploads and I also wish to thank UA-cam for getting you on to my recommended slot... Because Ijust found another person to subscribe to
Edit (Currently on a tablet device so I can't directly edit): The last few scenes are something that only FF can do and should be left out of Roleplay in MMO's, it is unreal and MMO's should have some form of reality to it

Outstanding videos! A shame you didn't use the GC Uniform and Knight of Etro for the final battle, just as a kind of homage to the previous titles.... seeing them flash during Army of One would be kind of badass. The feels would have been awesome. :P

That was a great ending. I see FFXIII is the origin story for FFVII. They're the "Cetra" that FFVII talked about. The very iconic lifestream shows that.
In FFXIII-2, people became able to use magic because of their migration to Gran Pulse, and it was said that they were able to use the crystal power within themselves to use magic. I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot like the materia crystal system in FFVII. Same world. Same solar system. Same Lifestream.

I don't even know where to begin. That was beautiful, even better than the ending to the first one.
So Lumina was Claire the whole time I shoulda known. And Hope! Did Hope get his mom back? Please tell me he got his mom back! And Noel! I thought Caius really killed Noel there for a second. He gets to be with Yeul at last! What about Snow an Serahs wedding? The epilogue should've been that! I still enjoyed it though.

I think Hope's parents also reborn in the new world. So everyone gets their happy ending. I think at the end Lightning's going to Serah and Snow wedding hhe, but yeah I'm kinda disappointed they didn't show us the marriage

Maybe its because Im still in the state of shock because it IS over, but there could be so many ways to continue. Still so many questions unanswered. And damn Lightning, your sister has been dead for centuries, at least give her a hug -.-
Chealse Charm You make a fair point but I think they were just trying to leave it up to the fans to decide. Anything can happen to these characters in the new world.
Personally I think they all should have group hugged.
Still though, I wish could have saw Snow and Serah's wedding. I always wondered how they kissed. I mean does Snow pick her up, does he bend over, can she reach him by standing on her tip toes?
you know what would be real awsome imo? if FF15 was all about the new world. like compeltly diffrent characters and such but with references to this one and its characters ect i have heard etro is supposed to appear in FF15 so i might not be too far off. im hopeing they do something like that in the future XD i would love to see a slight continuity in the next titles similar to that of how it is with zelda :D although i dont reali care aslong as they keep making these awsome storys. square will forever be the best at telling there storys i dont care what anyone says.
