The good old days. When social media was non existing and people actually just enjoyed life.
Amen.
@@janpiet1530 amen
Amen to that, brother. Now, where can I find the Mech Warrior 2 game for PC
yeah sitting at home playing destruction derby is enjoying life
I ordered it from eBay yesterday
i remember this like yesterday
i'm 30 year old now
I’m 36 and I feel the same way
90s games were the best

31 here and you posted this a year ago so, oh man the memories, had to check this out after trying wreckfest for the first time, such nostalgia
@@jayhosh8126 Wreckest is also very awesome game .. somehow it give us the same enjoyment we had in ps1 days
gameplay and music :)
i used to turn my car sideways in narrow parts of the track to see the biggest pileup i could get
I thought I was the only one. Especially the narrow part at 12:40 that was extremely fun to do.
+Daan Rotteveel I did the same :D
+Daan Rotteveel Yup, same thing.
John Carlett haha same here
Me too, to get most points and always parked on a ramp if I could :)
I remember playing this as a teenager and thinking it was a significant improvement visually over the first one. I'm currently playing Wreckfest on the PS5 which is how I imagined in my head this looked.
I've been trying to preach to anyone who will listen that Wreckfest is the closest thing you will find to a spiritual successor to DD. I love Wreckfest!
So true….relatively it all looks as good as each other
@@crimsontide1980 when telling my friend today he should download wreckfest he brought up DD. I said "this is pretty much a modern version of DD".
@@Swoldemort500 It really is, reminds me of the Wreckin Races or whatever they were called where you would try to finish first but you got points for damaging and destroying cars. Wreckfest is essentially a more modern version of DD minus the commentator. I love Wreckfest, I really, really hope they decide to make another one eventually
@@crimsontide1980 and Flatout 2, it was great at the time (I believe Wreckfest is from the same developers). BeamNG does a better job with crashes though.
It was genius to have polygons fly off as damage. Of course small particle effects were so difficult to use on such limited hardware so instead they just had some coloured triangular polygons fly about when you crashed as cheap effects. It gave the game a distinctive look and you knew instantly what you were playing.
Just turned 28 years old today, and it’s crazy to reflect back on how much time I played this when I was 5 years old. Does anybody remember when Pizza Hut gave out free demo games like that snowboarding game? The nostalgia
Dude yes the pizza hut demo was the best
Cool boarders? The snowing one?
pretty nice graphics for the time.. memories :D :,D wanna go back
frame rate was nice too.
Except that this is running on an emulator which has increased the resolution massively.
There was an incident where me and my sister played this and drove backwards on the track and jumped over a hill when suddenly one other car just crashes underneath our vehicle and launched the car like 200 feet in the air. We could never reproduce that.
Extra1 Yea the physics were outta this world. It was mad fun nonetheless
Hol up..YOU DID THAT TOO?
Same thing happened to me, saved the recording on memory card so I could show my brother later hehe.
OMG SAME! I reverse raced and hit a car the moment it hit the bottom of the hill - it sent me flying directly upwards so high that all of the course disappeared beyond the draw distance. I was convinced it was a rare error
This is seriously one of the best PS1 games ever made.
Yep, but PS1 was the house of great series : to name a few, GTA1, Tekken series, Resident evil, Fifa, Gran turismo, Metal Gear solid, Cool Boarders, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot
Wow so many memories. This was my very first ps1 game. Me and and my dad played this so much in the late 90's.
Wow, took me some searching but finally found what this was called. So many memories going down that big hill was always my favorite. 100%would play a new version of this game day one
Check out Wreckfest, closest thing you'll find to a new Destruction Derby game. It's actually really damn good
@@crimsontide1980 Just got that game recently, and the thought that crossed my mind was "this feels like a spiritual successor to Destruction Derby." Destruction Derby and Jet Moto were my childhood racing games, and, to be honest, nothing has topped those since.
The gigantic jump down a huge hill? Was there also a weird bump on the right hand side that you could use to make the car do multiple barrel-rolls etc? I played that thousands of times
I had a chipped PS1, I played this game in the US version (60hz). To date still the best stock car game for me.
A monumental suite, graphics, perfect animation.
Hours upon hours upon hours have I spent playing this game with my friends!! I wonder why nobody has created a better nextgen version of this?
Wreckfest

@@cinematicgamingmedia2390 wreckfest is terrible compared to this
The AI was a massive improvement over the first one. The AI was actually solid for the time compared to Gran turismo, Ridge racer and the like.
After 26 years this is still better than wreck fest.
Oh my fucking God, the nostalgia...
One of the greatest soundtracks in a game I can ever remember... And you turned the music off!?!?!?
after about 25 years and millions of hours play, I still remember everything perfectly
Wow this game brings back a lot of fond memories....
Memories...
The real Battle Royale
My favourite game as a kid this could play this for hours
Its not just about watching an old favourite game.... this transports us back to simpler times, and I would do anything for the world to be that simple again 😢
Used to play this at my mates house when we were about 13/14. I'm glad I grew up before social media.
Best game ever
These are the most greatest race tracks of my life ! :D Iused to play it so much that at the end I mastered every race track and demolished a lot of cars and gained lots of points for that.
Me too. It a great game.
GTA, gran turismo, tomb raider, destruction derby etc. gosh i miss the good old days of playing OUTSIDE after school with my friends and clocking my games on the consoles on rainy days.
I sucked at this game as a little kid and the main menu creeped me out but I loved it
Who's idea was it to get Jay Leno as the announcer
I thought it sounded like Jerry the king lawyer. Haha.
Wow it does sound just like Jay Leno 🤣
I remember having a demo disc from psx magazine. That game was satisfying af
I'm 14 and I used to play this when I was 7 the best game I played on the ps2 tho
I used to reverse my car within the long stretches of lanes and use my back bumper to do the biggest pile ups ! :D
Used to love that jump. Aleays satisfying hitting it right
I loved the circle race when all the cars blow up
This game was so much underated.
Had such nice graphics for the time
0:16 - 0:30 FUCKING EPIC :D
The sounds are so nostalgic. WOW TOTAL DESTRUCTION
My brother and I are remembering the commentary. They’re bloody hilarious
@@alisonstewart143 Hell yeah, same both us ahah
Such fond memories….even running at “some” frames per second
i loved this game so much. good times back then
i wonder how many hours of my childhood were wasted on it :D
I was literally thinking the same thing. Loved it
Whenever I go to the local racetrack, I always let out a "WOW! TOTAL DESTRUCTION!" and "HA HA HOOO" whenever a wreck happens.
damn bro you drunk xD
I played so many games in my life, but DD2 is ( and will be ) my all time fav. I lost my gaming- ❤ to this game..
I remember that it took me 2 weeks of playing to get the driving down. After that u was a pro. What a great game and music
I played the hell out of this game.
Hey go easy on the paintwork
had this on an actual disc in 2000 i think. great game, love the vibe.
childhood memories coming up when i see this 😍
Muito foda esse jogo. Que saudade.
You’ll NEVER beat the start up theme of the PS1. Absolutely etched in history as a true phenomenon. ❤
the position number changes places in the HUD from that first track to the second track lol
hi, I download the rom and use PSX emulator
in the rom are 19 *.bin files?
how to play this game?
2021 and i Love it!!!!😍😍😍
man that oldschool pop-in is harsh
I miss this game.
the first seconds...this sound...omg!
Your radiator has blown!
The PS1 was probably the biggest overnight lead forward I ever saw in gaming. Before it we had only 2d games played on 16 bit machines. Yea Doom had come out on PC in 1993 but next to no one could afford PCs and I had only seen screenshots in magazines.
Memories 😢❤❤❤
Ah yeah those object/texture pop-ins, good times
my 8 yo me playing this on a saturday morning before breakfast
i didnt knew it but life had peaked for me at this exact moment
I lost my CD for that game and it was my favorite ps1 game 😔
Crazy how that draw distance used to be an acceptable thing...
What a memories!
Loved this game!!!
Like this if you're 30 or over and remember playing this clear as day, and what friends we played this with
I loved this game wish they’d make a version for PS4
Used to race in reverse that was cool
Hey go easy on the paint work.... Remember this growing up 😁
Memories
this game was my life!
Still play the N64 version frequently. A little easy, which I rarely say about games, but lots of fun.
14:47 When you hit that weird corner on the right side of the track just right you can do a barrel roll.
I can hear myself saying “these graphics are so real I feel like I’m actually there”. 😂
So much nostalgia ;_;
I used to drive backwards, because the rear could take way more damage.
The nostalgia 😄🤦🏼♂️
I love how the car is way faster than a Lamborghini
Que saudades dessa época
Bruh you turned off the music? The music kicks ass!
Childhood
1:03 Liberty City?
Yeah that's pretty funny now, knowing what came after.
when the ingame soundtrack was fuckin awesome!
This game was hard as fuck when I was a kid. As an adult it’s still hard
That draw distance though
I used to play This
They need to make a remastered version of Chalk Canyon for Wreckfest
My first PS 1 Game 😀
I had this game with Wipeout 3
6:58 best map ever
This was so much fun
Iam only 14 this was my fav game when we was like 455678
Back in the days where you had a button as accelerate instead of a trigger like nowadays, full on or full off 😂
This looks like RetroArch is running this through emulation on a newer pc😮
One of those jumps has a bump that you should have hit Atleast once to send the car into a corkscrew
Lol ,I played this waaaaaaaaaaay to much back in the day
imaginemse un juego asi en linea y con graficos ufff
destruction derby 2 is an amazing game. shame it wasnt in playstation classic.
Memories. The commentary, poor driving steering and no rewinds :)
Glory days
