As another commenter mentioned- OSS is indeed a 176, which I have personally never seen but heard great things about. The SC EQ on this is very powerful. The only other 176 emulations I have seen are from UAD are MJUC from Klanghelm. The only thing I wish AO would implement is the unit “passthrough”/ frequency response. Most of his stuff has a perfectly flat frequency response- would be nice to have an optional “box tone” option. He does great work though
@@StudioLife101 well ideally mojo with the processing…if thats was the only option I’d be more than happy (and we’d be closer to “analog”). But might as well make it toggleable in this day and age, id somebody wants a particular compressor’s action but without the color and saturation. He does attempt to implement some saturation though, so that is great 🙏🏽
The dB comp Meter is whacky, as is The Meter on Buster SE. Both comp Sound great and compress great, but it is worth it to check the meter calibration. Buster Se meter shows about half of the GR and the dB comp is weirder.
the OSS is the 176, the tube predecessor to the 1176. That being said this compressor definitely gives that smack regardless
The FETISH is the 1176 from AO
Never seen a 176.... In 30 years....only a copy online..😂
@@AJOrpheo Great plan...👍 Very helpful...
@@StudioLife101 Its a long ass list, cheers 🍻
For 1176 see FETISH, and for just the “box tone” of bypassed 1176 there is FET SNAP
Thanks for doing analog obsession stuff,i really trust your your ears...and Dan's eyebrow!
The eyebrow knows all...👍 😂
Thanks for this guys. You packed a lot of good info into 6 minutes there.

Great idea...I'd love that on all these modelled plugins....the mojo without the processing.👍

I did not know about the OSS and I love 1176 shenanigans so I will check it out
I love the dBComp on Kick drums love it
Greetings from the pub 🍻
Doesn't DB stand for Drum Bus? I thought the DBComp was intended for this. Of course it can be used on whatever you want.
Nope…dbx not drum bus. Google an original dbx 160….looks the same 👍
Cool thanks. Sounds great on drum bus though. Gotta go easy.@@StudioLife101
Hi guys.. Ever thought of checking out the Fuse Audio Labs stuff??
I'll add it to the list.👍
@@StudioLife101 thank you! 🔥
Thank you
