    I think the first house, as a move in ready place, is the winner. If you want a fixer upper, no.#2 is good, as long as it's structurally sound, and I would check that out VERY carefully. The price is exorbitant, though. And frankly, those beams are something that would be very difficult to make homely. Maybe it's the camera lens, but they're downright menacing.

    The Normandy house has the bathroom downstairs only. No one pays asking price so you could up your price search to 160,000 or even 170,000 and still come within budget.
    Can I ask why you want so much land? That much land requires a lot of maintenance and physical hard work, not always a good idea as we get older.😐

      @susansirges8978 thank you...I learned French at school a long time ago...have got by when I visited in the past and am on day 280 of Duolingo so my CEFR (?) score is currently 32...I believe 50 is the requirement for a working visa...not that I'm planning to work. Mais je voudrais parler avec mes voisins.
