Both Naitch + Kerry both REALLY SOLD IT in between falls. No American promoter would ever let Naitch get a clean win on his figure 8. I always hated how he'd let every single opponent reverse his 'special move'. Well how great can it be if you let Barry Horowitz reverse (No disrespect aimed at Barry but he'd appreciate my point). You can't allow that every match.

I'd always heard about this match but could never find it. Flair was really subdued pre-match + it made me wonder if he was kind of pissed that he had to fly over to Japan to take the Belt back after only 2 weeks. He might've expected a bit longer of rest because the travel as Champion is GRUELING and Kerry was supposed to have the belt for a longer stretch but the NWA board felt that Kerry had become a liability by missing dates because of his worsening drug habit. They felt they could no longer trust him. Too bad.

What happened to the part when Flair pinned Von Erich? Remembering I saw this in the segment of the Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling and mentioned whomever wins the European Heavyweight Championship between Stephen Peitipas and Killer Karl Krupp will face Ric Flair in the old Halifax Forum. Petitpas pinned Krupp and win the European Heavyweight Championship, but I sided with Krupp because his foot was drapped over the rope, and pin should have been count out. Technically, Krupp deserved the title shot...I hope someone has that on film and uploaded it to UA-cam

I have heard he missed a couple of dates, but I have never read which dates he actually no showed, if he did? I'd like to know if the defense against Mike Rotundo took place? I think Mike was the NWA Southern Champion at the time. To the best of my knowledge the Von Erichs only appearance in the Mid-Atlantic was for the World Tag Team title tournament in 1982. from what i have read/heard, Kerry was only given the title as an "offering" to Fritz and the Von Erichs after David died. David was recommended to win the NWA title and would have had a longer reign. Kerry defended the title the day after he won and at least ten more times before he lost it. I think i read he had ten wins and two draws, with three of his wins coming from DQ.

@@diablo666541 I think Texas Stadium on May 6th 1984 was like 16-17 minutes. It was far from their first match, and probably the poorest in the series. The Cage match at Christmas Star Wars in 82 wasn't very good either. They had a fantastic two out of three falls match earlier that year in Reunion dale Arena in Dallas. Kerry was chasing the title for over 2 years as were David and Kevin. The reason that match was so short is it was a 107 degree's, I kid you not when it took place in Fort Worth. Flair said even though they had 45,000 people there, it would have easily sold out the stadium well over 60,000 if it hadn't been at 300 O'clock in the afternoon. He said people were bring carried out of there from dehydration if not heat stroke right and left. They expected it might be too be potentially cold at night so they started it much earlier. No one expected to be the scorcher it was.
