First of all amazing tactical awareness and reaction to potential issues. Second you were extra unlucky with duds but extra lucky with escorts and captains.
The reason the torpedo tubes are numbered as they are: the right side of a vessel is Starboard and equipment is labeled with an odd number. The left side is Port with equipment labeled with even numbers. Also Starboard has a green running light and Port is red.
This was a really good video Bridger thanks for it. At around 3:21 when the escort request counter drifted down it should have stayed in the upper quadrant I believe.
Step 8 on Page 55 (Convoy Movement): "If an Escort Request marker drifts into a quadrant already containing a Escort Request marker, remove the marker with the lower General Information marker number (least time remaining). If tied, determine at random #." So it definitely doesn't just stay in the upper quadrant.
At around 1:53 when you are looking at the reloads I've also noticed that some boats lose reloads available and haven't tracked down why that is. Also, some boats decrement when you reload and some don't. You have to watch when reloading for sure.
I figured it out after recording this. There's a bug in the module that causes all reloads on the X, Y, and Z boats to steal reloads off of boat W instead of their own stores! I reported it to Joel, who will hopefully fix it soon in the official module. I've fixed it in my own copy already.
Am a little over an hour in and this is fantastic, it's good how you explain things. Around turns 9 and 10, you seem to have forgotten to move your boats on the approach during convoy movement (vassal only does the attack map for you). Good news is I don't think it'd matter because you tended not to move during U boat movement, so you could probably have done both and ended up the same!
Yup, I think I may have missed that. I know they are supposed to fall back once the attack map becomes 'active', but I must have been focused elsewhere.
Everything is good on set up, except you only reshuffled the patrol deck after each use. The battle deck does not get reshuffled until the end of setup. You do not have to designate which boat you're going out until after your random pull.
Really great stuff here thanks for this. At around 59 minutes I noticed the sighting for observation is fixed in this vassal module. Did you do that or did you get an updated module?
You change steps with you both first and then you move I believe turn 15 you moved to and then dove Down to periscope, you should've went to periscope first, and then only moved one space
You cannot re-pull a convoy search result, you really can't report anything concerning the enemy the things at your disposal are silent, running and evasive maneuvers

@@Bridger15 my bad. When in doubt, read the rules. Sorry.
Can you use dice if you want, instead of the cards?
When you're hunting for stragglers, you have to roll greater than the distance not equal to or greater
Thanks, Bridger great video
1:38:42. It’s not one away, he’s two away. Why did you count one? Uboat was not spotted. Target marker….a dot…..uboat. How is that one space away?
He's definitely 1 space away from the closest convoy ship. That's what matters, not how far away he is from the request marker.

I just set up a new patrol and (again) had the W boat torp reloads disappear. Must be vassal mod bug?
@@chrisschall5834 yes. All other subs pull reloads from the W boat

mark, it is strange but mine do move on approach areas when a boat is already on the attack. I think, though, that I may have clicked Attack on them?

Very nice video....fyi, at about 1:13:00 you moved on without checking for Escort detect for that top right boat.
You may have convinced me on this one.
With a slow convoy submerged, U-boats only move on even turns.
Mike, I thought that was just in approach, not on attack map.
@@chrisschall5834 yes, correct and you moved on the approach map every turn with your submerged U-boats
Page 60 you may not report for a convoy spotting a Steam torpedo.
Your escort request marker on the last ship that was sunk turn. Your opening shots should've moved up a couple of spaces.

I fixed it myself. Joel will be fixing the official module. Once I'm done tinkering with mine I will release it for anybody that wants it.

Did I re-pull a convoy search by mistake?
