    The hardest part for someone like myself is that I have only ever used floor modelers (Pod Go and Helix), so a lot of the minutia is somewhat over my head. I usually buy presets from Worship Tutorials, Alex Guitar, Tone Junkies, or you, and then tweak them to taste. I've never been able to create a patch from scratch that sounded decent.
    Side note: When you added that transistor tape, it totally changed the personality of that patch. Wow! Loved your tip on the swell reverb as well! I'm going to use that.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  11 місяців тому +4

      I hear you. You might like next week's upload, I'm doing something called the "Factory Settings Challenge" where I only use the stock settings pulled up for every block (you might be surprised!).
      And yes, the Transistor Tape is my FAV delay block in the Helix. That's probably due to Andy Timmons' influence on my choices of tone where he used to have a pair of Echoplexes in stereo. What a tone!

    I’ve had my Pod Go for about 3 months or so, and have been so confused and honestly lost much of the time, I just put it away. I’m an old school guy who played in bands all through the 70’s. I played a Strat, through a Marshall half stack with a wah wah, fuzz and another pedal or two. There was no internet or cab sims it pretty IR’s(which I still don’t understand) Told the wife I must have a brain tumor. :) I retired a couple of years ago and started playing again after about 30 yr absence from playing. I thought the PodGo was the way to go, since it sounded really good and didn’t look too difficult. I mean I am an educated individual with a degree and ran a district office for a Fortune 500 company for many years..But my 68yr old brain feels like it just doesn’t work anymore..! Your video is so great, very informative, and down to earth. I sat and watched it through twice. Now I am going to sit down with my amp, a Boss Kantana MK2, guitars, and see if I can replicate this fantastic sounding preset you’ve shown here. There are still a few things I’m not sure of, like the Snapshot thing, compared to an octopus in the user guide. I want to be able to set and use 2-4 presets with different sounds for different songs, being able to look down at the screen and select my preset, play and move back and forth between them with the foot switch. I wonder if it’s possible to make a preset as yours is, select it and be able to turn off an on the different pedals as your while using that one preset. Then select yet another preset and do the same…I like to he a Wah Wah in one of the presets too. I apologize for going on and on, I’m really looking forward to getting into this PodGo and jamming with some former bandmates from days gone by….Once more great video and Thanks again…..!

      Thank you for watching and sharing your story, I can only hope that I'll be playing guitar with such passion by the time I reach those years of my life. It's all about familiarisation which only comes by using the gear on a regular basis. If I had access to a Boss Katana, I'd definitely give it a shot to get a Sunday-ready tone on it!
      Keep on keeping on! I'm sure you're going to rock with that POD Go!

    I have followed this step by step. The delay isn’t doing anything on either setting. and the ambient is off when the light is on and off when the light is on. What did I do wrong?! Thank you so much for this video. May 2024 be full of blessings and good health. Help a brother out internet. What did I do wrong? I’m gonna delete the patch and start over. Another question the compressor and the delay are not mapped to a stomp does that mean they should always be active in the signal chain? PS I know these are rookie questions but I gotta say line 6 editor is infinitely easier to use than my previous multi effects unit. So glad I upgraded. Now I just need it to work. And yes I did update the firmware

    • @ddarko77

      So I started over and got it to work. Who knows what I did the first time. This was great not only to use in PW but also a build crafting exercise. So sorry I just got around to reading this! I'm glad it worked out. Yes, sometimes I need to restart a preset build when something just isn't working. I've caught the offending parameter sometimes (like my kid accidentally assigning the noise gate threshold to the expression pedal so toe down at volume 100% the gate is also clamping down hard).

    good video....except for one thing....i followed your instructions very carefully and I ended up with no sound coming from my pod go (with recent 2.0 firmware update)....can't figure out what I did wrong....tried to go back several times to catch a few steps that were too quick to catch initially....getting fed up trying to use it and spending way too much time fiddling with settings than actually playing the guitar....suggestions/comments welcome...otherwise I'm going to sell it and go back to using amps...

      Hi there, thanks for watching and sorry to hear that. Double check a few things. What’s the volume pedal setting? Sometimes I’ve saved a patch with volume at zero. Check the output block and the level dialed in. Sometimes accidentally assigning a control of the output volume can click it to -120dB (essentially muted). Then check the individual blocks as to whether the volume is zero. Sometimes we can accidentally drag the wrong slider, like the EQ volume slider, the cab output slider, etc.

  • @mrb07005

    If using in a live rig would you recommend your chain to be guitar>pod GO for effects>amp kind of like replacing a traditional pedalboard, or would you just go straight from the pod GO to mixer and not even use an amp??

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  5 місяців тому

      I’d go straight to the FOH and not have an amp. But you could patch in an amp for personal monitoring using the Amp Out feature (there is a signal split point before the amp/cab).

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi! Thanks for stopping by. No unfortunately preset spillover is not possible on the POD Go, and it probably won’t be due to processor limitations. Even the Helix has to sacrifice an entire chip (cutting your DSP and signal paths in half) to achieve this.

  • @tdaigneau

    In your opinion, what is the best way to hook up the podgo in a home setting

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  9 місяців тому +1

      A decent pair of headphones. Actually, even a pair of higher end multimedia speakers, like the Mackie CRX series, is decent. The key is in getting used to the tone and correlating its characteristics through the speakers in real life (e.g. if the treble is too much on the CRX, it's just right in the mix).

  • @kevgaming204

    in the global settings, do I use my Amp out source as main out or precab/ir? I'm using the cab ir simulator and not using the actual amp. I'm plugging guitar -> pod go -> mixer

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  7 місяців тому +1

      The amp out shouldn’t be used to send to the mixer, you should be using the main outputs. If you’re running an amp on stage for monitoring purposes, you would set the amp out to precab so the amp doesn’t get cab processing.

  • @ddarko77

    I have an idea in my head; can one in theory have mix levels assigned to foot switches for more than just delay; IE; I want my signal chain (not including distortion options) always on BUT I want to be able to highlight (increase mix level) of the different effects. Example; I want some flange, delay and reverb in my stock sound BUT I want to be able to increase the mix options on those pedals. Additional could I do this with the amp; a low gain level and a high gain level. Does this make sense?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  7 місяців тому

      Yes you can! As long as the effect has a min/max value, you can set it with footswitches. The issue is if in changing the parameters, will there be a weird sound (the modulation level on the Retro Reel causes a slight pitch warble when switched). Always-on flange, now that’s a different sound!

    • @ddarko77
      @ddarko77 7 місяців тому

      @@AllAboutWorshipGuitar as follow up; I have set mix parameters for delay reverb and amp gain. I’m using the EQ as a lead boost just like your example. Still not settled on the last two openings. Any off the wall suggestions internet? I’ve messed around with phaser flange chorus and octave. I’m looking for something that is as much functional as it is quirky to fill those last two spots with options.

    Which pedals would be closest to strymon big sky and timeline? I want to find a reverb and delay thats close to it.

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  8 місяців тому

      That's going to be subjective, as the TL and BS definitely have their individual Strymon vibe that's hard for other pedals to replicate. That being said, I think the GFI Specular Reverb and Clockwork Delay come close, as do the JET Pedals Revelation and Eternity.

    • @kevgaming204
      @kevgaming204 8 місяців тому +1

      @@AllAboutWorshipGuitar I was talking about the delay and reverb inside the POD GO. If I was to get the pod go, I wanted to have a similar sound as the BS and TL. So since there is so many types of delays and reverbs in the POD GO, could you suggest me?

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  8 місяців тому +1

      @kevgaming204 I misunderstood! The Glitz has a modulated reverb sound that can get close to the Bloom, but Dynamic Bloom just came out and I haven’t had time to check it out. It’s supposedly closer to the Bloom tone. The dTape on the TL is the bomb for me, and I felt like I could only get close by loading up the Vintage Digital, have a Kinky Boost in the chain, and then if DSP permits, a Retro Reel with some saturation. But those are all workarounds. There really is no substitute for the TL and BS, I think.

    How can I use backing track with pod go with my stereo monitors

    • @AllAboutWorshipGuitar
      @AllAboutWorshipGuitar  5 місяців тому +1

      If you’re connected to a laptop, the audio can be routed to the POD Go as an audio device (both in and out), and connect your monitors to the outputs of the POD Go. If you’re not using a laptop, the Return can be configured as an Aux In. You’ll have to go into Globals and set the Return for that option first, then use a headphone adapter and an aux cable to wire in your audio source (like an iPod or an iPad).
