I usually paint old photos of mine, instant nostalgia so just bingeing on your videos. BUT I really want to have a go at this. Some interesting pigments/paints in this. It made me think of Harry Potter with Indigo Dementors swirling about. Thanks.
Wow, this was very educational. I didn't think you could put light colors on top of dark in watercolor, but you just proved that wrong! Thank you so much Angela.
I am often asking my grandchildren "what colours do you see in that ploughed field" and we then start to move away from just 'brown'. Looking more closely there are so many more colours if we take time to really look. My grandchildren love doing this, and it makes me happy. Really enjoyed your video, thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your love and skills for watercolor!!! I am so grateful for your “way”. You speak to my heart for the love of watercolor. This video is so helpful for my card making hobby! Thanks again Angela.
Thank you so much Angela. I would never have thought to use darks in this way now I can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for your generosity you are a constant inspiration to me. ☺xx
Gorgeous demonstration. Thank you. I often saturate my watercolors and the darks. Thank you so much for sharing your technique. Liked and subscribed. Looking forward to checking out your others demonstrations.
Beautiful, Angela! Thank you. I could stare at this piece for a long time - just relaxing my mind. Hopefully, making one myself will have the same effect!🎨🖌😎
Call it serendipity but my current project is painting northern lights . This video gave me valuable info . I wasn’t happy with the first version . I planned to repeat it today ... then your video showed up ! Thanks
Thank you Angela for your amazing gift revealing the magic of lifting and revealing the illumonosity of watercolour iut if the dark. This has also answered my question about "lifting".
I did a space/nebula scene lately, and the dispersion of the Nickel Azo Yellow and the Cobalt Teal was really fun to play with! I think the Quin Purple dispersed well too, but since it was so dark it didn't have the same dramatic effect.
Nice tutorial. I'm making a list of all the colors you're introducing as "high flowing". Trying to make my backgrounds interesting. This was very informative.
I am intrigued after watching your youtube video of a watercolor on black ground. I have painted in acrylics on dark background and really like the play of colors against the dark background. Lately I have been using brusho crystal watercolors. I'd like to try them on the black ground as they burst with bits of contrasting colors. I wonder about using Brusho watercolors with opaque white. Would it be labeled a mixed media piece? Do you call your paintings on black ground watercolors?
So you CAN use lights over darks. :) Very interesting. I am going to have to try this soon. Thanks for sharing Angela, and have a safe trip. From Prescott Valley AZ ;)
@@paulalittle2495 Hi Paula in Mesa :) MY brother lives in Chandler, and we are down there quite a bit. He is about 10 minutes from Jerry's and close to Blick's too. There is a Hobby Lobby and Michaels about five minutes from his house, so it is a favorite destination for many reasons. LOL :)
Angela Fehr I heard you mention your a runner, May 4 is the famed Whiskey Run. Marathon, half, 10 k. My husband and I ran the10 k a few years ago, what a fun couple of days.
I love that phalo turchois. I just found a dark color i love. It is DS lunar blue. Is the dark paint still wet? The yellow doesn't muddy? Which color is in the mixing pallet that looks like pink? Good video!
Oh my gosh! I thought the title said 'working with DORKS in watercolor'. Lol. A woman after my own heart, I'm a dork too. Then it clicked. DARKS. Ha ha.
is there any kind of indicator on tubes of watercolor paint that indicates how they flow? I don't want to buy all of the daniel smith paints to experiment with! I know they have the paint daub sheets, but I wondered it anything was on the tubes itself. Thanks!
@@angelfehr Thank you so much for replying Angelia. A tube of my most wanted watercolor paint is coming, i just bit the bullet and bought Daniel Smith Sleeping beauty turchois! Can't wait to get it.

I love hearing you giggle in between sentences, your joy in playing with watercolors is contagious! Thanks Angela!
Thank you for this. Truly fabulous! Learned so much in fourteen minutes.
Every brush stroke you make always turns out beautiful!
Wow, this was very educational. I didn't think you could put light colors on top of dark in watercolor, but you just proved that wrong! Thank you so much Angela.
I have been so afraid of using darker colors, even for contrast. So this video was great for me. Now I need to start playing again. TFS

What a great way to teach children to "see."
You are the best! Courage is the greatest gift! Thank you!
Love the action in that painting, the light bursts out several places, and it makes you just want to see more! Thank you for a fantastic journey!
Looks like a beautiful galactic experience! So fun!
I love this. I love abstract and it's nice knowing it can be done so beautifully with watercolour.
yes, that does look like fun!
Very pretty!
I see a seal' s head looking down from the top. First I thought dolphin, but then it grew whiskers. 😃
Makes me think of looking up through a tree canopy. As always, enjoyed your video, thank you.

What an exciting video, must experiment with this. I see a beautiful waterfall falling just inside a cave- in your painting-just gorgeous!
Fantastic painting..the turquoise is really lovely. I am looking forward to trying this tonight! Have fun in Arizona.
Wow this was absolutely beautiful!!! These colors together all took my breath away!! The paper seems nice also I'll have to try a block!
Love this! Thank you, Angela.

Does it work well with water color pens

Where are the stars in this nebula? :-)
Most of the QoR paints has super pushy effects.
