Nice project, two gifts in one if you are putting a gift card inside. I'd use a snap for the closure. If you use the RFID fabric for the lining it will protect credit cards.

Leave your velcro together, just pull back off 1 side & stick it, then peel off the other half & close

I should make one of these for myself; so, I can shop safely at Walmart and Kroger. A woman tried to snatch my purse at Walmart. I could put a cord on one of these and wear it inside my blouse or dress (out of sight). I have learned not to take my purse to many places. I now hate shopping at both of those (Walmart and Kroger) department stores.
