Erich Kastner's classic tale of theft and junior detectives was also adapted for BBC radio in 2009, and I'll be posting that in a couple of months - but this one is from 1991, and was originally broadcast in two parts on BBC Radio 5 - which at the time produced an awful lot of radio for younger listeners...
