Really happy to hear Avenged Sevenfold :) There's obviously plenty more out there by them. On the rap side, I'd love to see some more attention on Lupe Fiasco or Canserbero (imo some of the best lyricists in their respective languages)
fun fact: the rev (the drummer) has an incurable heart condition (enlarged heart) and was told that he might live until 30. he actually wrote a song called "fiction" 3 days before he passed away, in the lyrics he wrote "promise me you'll never feel afraid" like a message for the rest of the band. and in this song "so far away", they said "sleep tight, i'm not afraid" in respond to the lyrics the rev wrote for them, their way of saying "its okay brother, rest in peace, we promise we're not going to feel afraid". 😭
I'm thrilled to see you react to some Avenged Sevenfold. This song is a tribute to the drummer and one of the founding members of the band Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan who unfortunately died way too young. If you want to see some other amazing songs from them you can check out Nightmare, Afterlife, Bat Country, Almost Easy, Hail to the King, Shepherd of fire, Beast and the Harlot to name a few. I would stay away from a little peace of heaven until you have heard a few more songs from them since the subject matter of that song can really turn people off from the band.
I would say the best A7X songs for a breakdown are Beast and the Harlot, Nightmare, The Stage, Almost Easy, etc. I think they're lyrics are pretty solid throughout tho - Fiction's another shout following on from this song (but context is needed)
@@2d_enjoyer Haha it is! My fav actually. But some reactors are left a bit shocked sometimes when A little piece of Heaven is their first AX7 experience and then just stop exploring A7X all together. A little piece of Heaven is (in my view) there more out of their element/ordinary song. Knox gotta check out some of their other songs before so he can fully enjoy the masterpiece A little piece of Heaven is. Let's not traumatize the boy right from the start 🤣
I remember when I first watched this video. When it got to that montage scene, I didn't think much of it, but when it showed Rev splashing himself with coffee, I smiled, then I immediately started tearing up. You never know when it's going to be your last day. This nice, funny, cool, chill person that you once knew, just gone. Rest in peace..
He splashed himself with beer actually that video is on UA-cam it’s called Synester Gates gets drunk ( R.I.P to The Rev) it’s a 7 minute video of them being buddies.
I remember not long after this song came out they toured, from memory it was meant to be their last tour (thankfully it wasnt) and when they played this song, the whole stadium atmosphere changed and everyone sang, cried and hugged in memory of the rev
What always hits me hard is the line "Sleep tight, I'm not afraid", as it's a reference to the line "All this hurt can finally fade, promise me you'll never be afraid" from Fiction, the last song The Rev recorded before his death
Sadly, depression robbed me of my childhood when I was young, I never got to experience that feeling of immortality, childhood innocence, or happiness, I've wanted to end it since I was young, and with things getting worse, that has not changed. This song is so deep.
Fuck, you put a feeling I have had for my whole life into words. As long as I could remember I was aware of death, my feelings in it flip flopped between I don't want to die(existential dread) and I want to die so much. I never felt that immortality and bravado others seemed to experience in teenage years. I have not even really left my teenage years as I have just turned 18, but still the sentiment remains. I hope you have found even some happiness. I'm still depressed as probably are you as it never really goes away. This song reminds me that no matter how much I have thought about ending my life, people around me would feel pain and heartbreak. I'm sure people around you would too. Hope my message wasn't too much or too vent-y. I was so touched that someone could put my exact feelings into words, made me feel less alone. FoREVer ❤
@@Unknown-lm6tnhey man, hope your feeling better after this time, i was always a happy naive chil but when i got to 14 years old my life went upside down i was fully depressed (where i found avenged and they really helped me out) and only when i turned 18 i started focusing on myself and doing things i love and that and i can say, i may not have a good life but I'm happy, i have plans for the future and I'm excited and scared at the same time about it, hope everything goes well for you mate ❤
Jimmy, "The Rev" Sullivan. He died of an overdose, but he was born with an enlarged heart. A ton of speculation's around it all, but the thing to take awa is that they will always miss their best friend.
I remember the day this video came out, the moment they started showing Rev’s videos I started crying like a baby, now it’s more than 10 years later and I feel the same way… foREVer 😭❤️ Thanks for this Knox, now check out A Little Piece of Heaven, Rev wrote this song about a dream he had, and it’s 100% crazy, you’ll understand why his mates loved him so much
The rev was one of the best. Will be missed, but will always be remembered. Id like Knox to react to the rev 1 take drumming thing he did for i think it was bat country but correct me if im wrong
@@xdHyperzthe first album sounding of the seventh trumpet was all on one take, and I'm pretty sure after it he never did it one take but i think your speaking about the video of him playing almost easy where he has like crazy drumming
Your story about your friend is exactly what this song is about. They lost their brother when they were at the top of the world. This song gets me every time
The look of real pain on your face had me close to tears. This is a tough song, knowing the background, and it's so relatable to anyone who's lost someone. New sub.
RIP Rev I met A7X at a show in philly years ago. Amazing guys. Really down to Earth group. Took the time to chat and even have a few drinks with us. This song was for their drummer who passed away. They wrote this to express how much he meant to them. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. Absolutely amazing drummer. They made this as their goodbye song for him. They have another song that's more of a celebrate the life style. PLEASE check out St James by Avenged Sevenfold. Amazing tribute to an amazing guy.
Also a dope song. I really want to see Fiction as a part 2 to the sad side of this saga. It'd be nice if he knew a little details going in like handed in 3 days b4 found and seeing the absurdity of his toxicology report. I think with the lyrics alone he could reach the same conclusion without that supporting evidence though.
Rip Rev , you are truly missed and never forgotten brotha . He was the drummer for them for a long time with absolute talent on the drums , one of my favorite drummers .
I absolutely love Avenged Sevenfold.. It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this video, it still makes me tear up every time. Gone but not forgotten.. Jimmy”The Rev” Sullivan…
Yeah no joke. That guitar solo at the end just gets me every fricking time. Syn is a genius. I watched two reactions to this song today (the other being from the channel "The charismatic voice"). Guess who teared up twice today.
I was 13 when I got into A7x. It was after Jimmy had passed, but this song hits HARD. It means so much on a personal level, but I share their pain. Jimmy was a great person and an extremely talented drummer. The world lost a good one too young. When I listen to this, I feel everything. All the emotions. I think of my loved ones who were taken too soon. Little fun fact. My first time seeing them live was Feb. 9, 2018. What would have been Jimmy's 37th birthday. When they played So Far Away that night, I wept as I screamed the lyrics. It was a special night.
Avenged are my favourite band and I'll be honest I almost skipped this because I've never been able to get through this song without crying. Like you, it has a direct application to a specific event in my life (the loss of my daughter) and the emotion in Matt's voice gets me every time. "As soon as I'm done, I'll be on my way". Outstanding video Knox.
I absolutely love this reaction! Most of your analysis was spot on! Their drummer, The Rev, a.k.a. Jimmy Sullivan was diagnosed with a heart disease, so yes, in a way he was suffering. So glad to see you react to this band!
Oh im pretty sure there was more to it than the heart disease. He always struggled fitting in and feeling like he belonged. A7X was the main thing that ever gave him that feeling in the world. Also it's pretty evident he commited suicide with 2-5min research and any knowledge of drugs (by the 5x over lethal mixtures on his tox screen). I know people that OD'd from Lortab and Valium (2 of the weakest in their classes) he had like 4 much stronger opiates and also around 4 benzos i think at least as well. Add hard alcohol to that to be sure. He was 28 and not stupid and probably not a drug novice. Sooo if u take that and his song Fiction he finished the lyrics and demo for 3 days b4 he was found.. Wellll if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck. Well u know.
@@theRevVA32 Im not sure if its the band not wanting to think thats how their friend ended up but they've said they dont think he committed suicide and its also probable that he just got too fucked up that night and paid the ultimate price
This song always kills me, the pain in M Shadows voice and the music. My first time watching a Knox Hill reaction and I'm so pleased that I did, you analysed the lyrics and video so well. You showed respect to a fallen brother, thank you.
What gets me inspired is everything put out after their Waking the Fallen album. During that tour (this was 20 years ago so I may have forgot exactly what happened) Shadows, the singer, tore a vocal chord and started choking on blood on stage. He was rushed to the hospital for surgery cause, back then, they did heavier aggressive screaming during this time. Doctors and what not said his career was over. He was like "fk that". after healed, he retrained is voice and kept on pushing. Granted, he doesn't scream like he used to, but thats fkn amazing!!
One of the only songs that will make my grown a$$ cry like a little baby. Having lost loved ones that were either blood or could be close enough to have been blood, and the pain you can hear in his voice it just brings it out of me
I just cried watching your reaction, bro... I'm sorry for your lost, I could feel your pain only by watching your expression when you mentioned your friend. Thank you for your honest reactions, I really enjoy your content because of your honesty and criticism. Greetings from Brazil!
Avenged Sevenfold was one of the first bands that introduced me to metal. And the Rev became one of my favorite drummers period. So god damn this song hits your heart and soul HARD...
Omfg I love avenged sevenfold. I got an A7X tattoo on my arm the night the rev passed away. Been a fan since the first album and they remain as my favorite band of all time. They are massively talented. Love that you decided to check them out. RIP JIMMY THE REVEREND THOLOMEW PLAGUE may you drum in heaven with the great and gods
I know I’m watching this 3 months later, but this song really hits a soft spot inside of me, every time I hear it it brings both happiness and sadness, and no matter how long I don’t listen to this song, the lyrics are still embedded into my mind
This song really hits your soul. Especially if you lost people in your life dear to your heart. Rest In Peace Mom. This was her get away song when she thought about my Uncle Brian. He committed suicide and then she passed away from heart failure in 2019. I think about her everyday and this song makes me feel like she’s in the room with me.
It was so cool that Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater played Drums on their new album after the drummer passed away .. a legend stepping in to help these guys cope wit the death of a great friend .. RIP Rev ❤
I appreciate you sharing about your friend and relating it to the video and how it makes you feel. This is such a haunting and beautiful song, it really shows us how precious time really is.
Even well after a decade, this song gives me chills and makes me tear up. ANYBODY who listens to it can relate in some kind of way! I’ve had 3 family members who battled and lost to addiction, so this hits home.
Avenged Sevenfold now?!?!?! This song is about the drummer, The Rev. One of my favorite bands of the past 10 years. They have a ton of great songs. Afterlife is the song that introduced me to Avenged Sevenfold, but I like So Far Away the most. RIP Rev. Great reaction as always. So sorry for your loss, Knox. Have a good week, man.
The first guitar solo always gets me! One of saddest yet best tributes a band could do to one of their own. And the way you figured that out not knowing about their drummer's passing is really impressive. Great reaction to one of my favorite bands!
When you said you didn’t know anything of the song yet I was like wait till he finds out what it represents lol. Im sorry about your friend. Life can be so softly brutal, take and give with no sound. I hope you have been able to sit with it ok over the years. I lost a friend to a house fire when I was really young. I don’t remember much from that age but even then he sits in my mind some days. If your interested in checking out some live stuff the LBC concert is amazing and the Rev the drummer is still with them for it. Just some of the best work I’ve seen them do in that show!
Avenged Sevenfold's been my favorite band for nearly 20 years now, seeing people react to this song for the first time is always amazing. It's such a powerful song. RIP Jimmy, foREVer.
Every person has at least one musical moment in their life that will stick with them forever. You’ll remember where you were, who you were with and what you were feeling. I saw A7X at a festival not long after this album dropped, and when this song came on, you could hear a pin drop. During the first guitar solo, I closed my eyes and became immersed. When I opened my eyes, it was a semi circle of lighters. Instant chills. I took a picture, but I don’t need it, because I can close my eyes, to this day, and still see it behind my eyelids. I can still feel the electricity. It was completely emotional and it was my “one” moment. Thank you for your reaction.
The Rev was an incredible drummer, one of the all time best, and an incredible song writer. He wrote SOOOOO many of A7X’s best songs. He also had an incredible voice. Check out their entire Live at LBC concert for their best live performance and bonus, it’s also when The Rev was still alive
Thank you for pouring everything you have into your breakdowns Knox ❤️ Music being able to invoke this level of emotion is what makes it one of the most beautiful things in this world. This song always gets me 💔
I sang and played this song at my best friend's celebration of life, he uh.. well, took his own in 2020. Despite the losses I'd already experienced, it was and is the hardest of my entire life. And this song put forth every emotion I felt at his loss.
Critical Acclaim Live in the LBC from Avenged Sevenfold is a staple for reactors, but really anything from A7X is welcome. Jimmy was a uniquely talented drummer, but also had an impressive vocal timbre and range, and was a phenomenal songwriter; he is missed by everyone. Thanks for the reaction.
They were friends since elementary/middle school and grew up together and formed their band in high school. He passed away in 2009. That whole album Nightmare was a tribute to him. There is a lot of reference to the song “Fiction” in it. Which was the last song the Rev wrote.
A7X has some great stuff to dive into. I'd strongly suggest you watch "Critical Acclaim" Live from LBC. Must be the live version though. With a lot of metal so much of the energy is lost when you don't see them do it live.
This band is quite unique. Most of them do backup vocals and do more than just play their instruments. You should react to some Live concerts to see this. Afterlife Live in the LBC is a good one to listen to. You'll hear all of them, including the passed drummer (The Rev) sing.
Love that @knoxhill is reaching out to different genres.. I hope he checks out more ax7 and the Rev. jimmy is missed and glad more and more people are finding his music. Thanks again KH!
So Far Away is such a hard song for me to perform. Not because it's difficult, but because 3 of the 4 times I've performed it, it was in dedication to people I've lost. The first one was my grandpa to a heart attack, one time was to my boyfriend who passed away from heart failure, and the third time was for his older sister who took her life because she had power of attorney and had to pull the plug. She spent her last five-and-a-half months feeling like she killed him. For me, it's hard to listen to that song without being reminded of all three of them. I wish they were still here, but they're not suffering. They're not in pain. In fact, I believe they've been reunited with their loved ones and they're patiently waiting for the day that we can see each other again. I look forward to that day, but I'm not trying to speed up the process.
Just stumbled across your page. Avenged Sevenfold was my very first rock concert when i was 16, I saw them 2 years after the rev died and they sang this song at the concert. Everyone shut up during this song and just let M.Shadows(Lead singer) sing it and by the end we were all crying. Such a special moment I'll never forget. One of the best concerts I've ever been too. ❤
Thank you so much for your reaction. You did it so well and you get it. I have always tears in my eyes while I am listening to that song. Thats a true power of music. It cuts you deep and leaves you heartbroken. Avenged Sevenfold 4ever🤟🤟
Hey man, please don't stop doing metal reactions. I have watched a lot of reactions to this song and yours is one of the best. I like the way the pay attention to what's being said and we're able to accurately out the pieces together and figure out almost exactly what was being communicated. Most reactors go into it with the knowledge that this is a tribute to the former drummer. Your breakdown seems genuine to me so I don't think you researched it beforehand! Either way I'm enjoying watching the metal. Started watching a long time ago for some rap breakdowns but I'm a metal head to the core. Just letting ya know Im enjoying this so far
like 10-11 years and i still cant listen to this song without it choking me up, even in a reaction!! growing up avenged sevenfold were my favourite band by far, losing the rev was so sad:(
I've said it before: if you could physically bring a guitar to life and make it wail in anguish, this is it. Such a great song. If you want more A7X, you got to do Carry On. Was made for the ending of Black Ops 2, and the video was done via mocap in engine. Also, always double check the song length with them. Often times the official music video is much shorter than the actual song itself, in particular on the songs Beast and the Harlot, Bat Country, and Afterlife
I think this was their first album after their drummer died. Sadly he said he’d die before 30 I think it was and he did. Amazing drummer and if you listen to any albums prior to this, he’s a beast. The Rev is up there with my fav drummers of all time. Sadly lost him and Joey from slipknot.
This video makes me cry every time, Rev's death still hurts me to this day 💔 it's so insane that the passing of someone you've never met other than through their music can be so painful
I've watched a lot of your reactions man. This is the first time I think I've ever seen you get all choked up like that. This is my all time favorite band so I'm super stoked to find some of their videos here , thank you brother!
This is a very deep song especially if you knew the band and how they were before. The drumming in this song was also done by the rev and was recorded and clipped before he died so they still used it
I’m so glad your reacting to this Knox … one of the most beautiful songs ever .. that song hits you hard when a chapter of your life ends and you think of the people you love and leave behind or left you behind.. ❤️
RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan He died from a drug overdose, and it was not ruled a suicide. But if you read what was in his system when he died, and how much. It seems like it might've been one. Also, you'll see towards the end of the guitar solo, Synyster Gates has "The Rev" inlayed in the neck of the guitar. And the strap of the acoustic guitar says "foREVer".
This song is both great and heartbreaking. A song that hits your soul and makes you miss those you've loved. The guitar sounds so brilliantly mournful it invokes such an emotion. A great song for a great drummer, RIP Rev.
Normally, I'd think for this song, "oh no, the reactor wasn't told the background of their drummer passing" but I wasn't worried with Knox, I knew he had this and he did. Also, that guitar solo has so much emotion that it has its own lyrics.
“I’ll see you when he lets me”. Late 2021 one of my absolute closest friends sadly left this world. He wasn’t blood but he was my brother. Would’ve fought, killed and died for him in a heartbeat and he would’ve done the same for me. Got a tattoo in tribute to him and those lyrics are what I got on it. Very special song that everyone can relate to
Unarguably on of the most beautiful songs ever written. Great reaction btw you really feel the pain of the song. Its like being punched in the gut every time. Phenomenal band, great lyrics and something we call all relate to.
No suicide. He had a fairly severe heart condition but no matter what his friends and family told him, he wouldn't cut back on his drinking and drug use. Just didn't take the best care for himself, ya know? One of those types of situations. He liked to push his own boundaries. He was warned as a teenager he may not live to see 40, so he did the exact opposite of what his doctors wanted him to do by throwing caution to the wind in an effort to pack as much fun and adventure into the time he had left. Great person, and an even better musician. Within the music industry he was considered an exceptional talent and rising star. Throughout the 2000s, it kinda wasn't even fair for everyone else that A7X got to have both him, and their lead guitarist (Synyster Gates) in the same band at the same time. Both were immensely skilled musicians who could tilt the stage in their favor anytime they wanted.
I recently lost one of my best childhood friends and this song gets me every single time. I know it’s irrational, but I still partially blame myself for not doing more for him before it was too late. Listening to this song after his death holds so much weight and emotion while also giving me a bit of catharsis. A7X has been one of my all-time favorite bands for 2 decades, but this song in particular will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. RIP the Rev and RIP Jamie (my friend). 😢
So glad to see you react to one of the greatest bands out there! Thank you so much Knox! This song is a tribute to their drummer who passed away: James "The Rev" Sullivan... One of the greatest drummers to have ever lived... I hope you continue to go through their discography later on... I promise you will not be disappointed...
It is, unfortunately about their past drummer. RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. I looked up to him while learning to play the drums when I was younger. It's hard for me to watch this without tearing up, between him and another good friend I had lost at a young age. They are one of my favorite bands from my youth. You should definitely check out "Nightmare", "Beast and the Harlot", "Bat Country", and "The Stage". Oh ALSO "A Little Piece of Heaven". It's not the same as most of their music but it's a bit of a fun experience. Awesome reaction as always man! 🖤🤘
You definitely need to check out Chapter Four or Unholy Confessions by these guys. Also this is like my 10th time saying you need to react to Self-Destruction by I Prevail
Another great reaction and this one always tears me up I was supposed to see them in concert and they ended up canceling the show because they said the drummer had food poisoning so they couldn’t make it to the show and then two days later you found out that he overdosed and him in the lead singer Matthew Sanders, we’re best friends, so your heart always pours out for him
Love that you give metal a chance👌 so many just rubbish it as noise, but never actually listen to the lyrics. So much feeling, soul and passion in most metal bands lyrics that ignorance lets slip away.
That part when they show the montage and all you hear is a crisp acoustic guitar his one of the most chilling pieces of music ever. I never knew Rev personally obviously but that 20-ish seconds always gives me chills and almost gets me to tear up. You can just hear the emotion that Zacky and/or Syn put into that guitar
Their slowest and most emotional song. In my opinion, one of the most emotional, genuine, and heartfelt song in metal. A tribute to a lost friend, a brother, and a living legend in the making. Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was so young, younger than me, when he was found dead of an overdose. Heart problems all his life, doctors saying he'd be lucky to live past 30. I guess that time limit coming quick, he was 28, weighed too much on him and he decided to go out on his own terms. Incredibly sad, but I respect him for it. Man didn't let his condition define him and didn't let it get him in the end. While the means weren't the best, he as strong. He was on of the modern era's best drummers, building quickly to be one of the best ever. Not just my opinion, the opinion of many fans and other rock musicians. One of the founding members of A7X. The bits in this with the kids were reenactments of memories from their childhood. It's a beautiful song, beautiful video, and such a bleeding heart of a lyrical and musical masterpiece. One can hope he's in heaven with fellow rock legends fighting over who he gets to play drums for in their next show for the angel.
You're so good at recognizing the meaning behind the lyrics!! Rad that you're checking out A7X!! But you should know that this song is not typical of their style. It's a BANGER and Heart tugging MASTERPIECE, but it was written for their Drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, who passed away tragically... Still an amazing song, but these guys are more known for their heavy yet melodic Metal!! Still, stoked you checked it out though!! Lost my grandmother to Lung Cancer and she too never smoked a day in her life, maybe not quite the same, but when you mentioned your friend, it really touched home for me. Much love, and RIP to your bro as well!!❤️

Wow, never caught that. Such beautiful songs.
Thank God for a reactor like you. You listen to the lyrics and you get it. They lost a best friend and this song is a tribute.

I remember the day this video came out, the moment they started showing Rev’s videos I started crying like a baby, now it’s more than 10 years later and I feel the same way… foREVer 😭❤️
Thanks for this Knox, now check out A Little Piece of Heaven, Rev wrote this song about a dream he had, and it’s 100% crazy, you’ll understand why his mates loved him so much
The rev was one of the best. Will be missed, but will always be remembered. Id like Knox to react to the rev 1 take drumming thing he did for i think it was bat country but correct me if im wrong
@@xdHyperzwait that happened? Idk why I thought that shit was a dream wtf is wrong with me
@@anthonycriscione7618 🤣 pretty sure it did. Most of the revs work iirc was one shot.
New sub.
RIP Rev
I met A7X at a show in philly years ago.
I think the telegram me comment is spam so be careful
A7X is such a great band! I highly recommend their song Save Me. The whole Nightmare album is so good. RIP The Rev 🕊️
A7X has a lot of bangers with deep meaning. They are probably my favorite band. I hope you react to more in the future 👌
RIP Rev ❤
I do love little piece of heaven from them it’s a great song to rock out to.
Why you gotta try and do the man like that? Lmao
Seconded.
too early for him
*Admiral Ackbar has entered the chat.*
Bruh. You aren't wrong though LOL
Buried Alive or Nightmare is a most listen! Especially how Buried Alive begins and transitions into proper metal is 🔥🔥
This is by far the best reaction I've ever seen to this song. Can't wait to see more from you!
Thank you for pouring everything you have into your breakdowns Knox ❤️
Music being able to invoke this level of emotion is what makes it one of the most beautiful things in this world.
Thank you for sharing about your friend Knox. Sorry also for the lost. This song truly touches us.
Loved your reaction man. Been several years since I've heard this one. Still damn near brings me to tears.
Love that @knoxhill is reaching out to different genres.. I hope he checks out more ax7 and the Rev. jimmy is missed and glad more and more people are finding his music. Thanks again KH!
This song always hits me in the feels but if you ever get the chance to see it live you will feel the passion and pain in every second of this song.
This is as tame of their songs as it gets, but others are totally worth listening to. And yes song is for their drummer, The Rev, who passed away.
Still crying to this song, after so many years 🖤 RIP THE REV 🖤 thank you for reacting to this
Yep. The Rev was a special talent.
This song is very emotional for me. The year this song was released, I lost 3 buddies to overdoses. I tear up almost every time I hear it.
"Afterlife" is far and away my favorite Avenged Sevenfold song. An absolute masterpiece!!!
There have been two "celebrity" deaths that broke my heart: Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan.
the most honest and genuine reaction i have seen for this video..... and i have seen a lot of them
Great reaction! You might be the only person to ever take those lyrics and truly understand them. You hit the nail on the head.
YESS. i am so happy you are reacting to this, this is easily my favorite avenged song not called A little piece of heaven
I've watched a lot of your reactions man. This is the first time I think I've ever seen you get all choked up like that. This is my all time favorite band so I'm super stoked to find some of their videos here , thank you brother!
Man this song always hits the emotions...RIP REV
Dear God is another song of theirs that will hit you in the feels
another hard hitting song is fiction considering its the last song the rev ever wrote
RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan
He died from a drug overdose, and it was not ruled a suicide. But if you read what was in his system when he died, and how much. It seems like it might've been one.
Also, you'll see towards the end of the guitar solo, Synyster Gates has "The Rev" inlayed in the neck of the guitar. And the strap of the acoustic guitar says "foREVer".
I love this song so much - I play it a million times and never get bored. Tribute to the late drummer and grandma.
This song is both great and heartbreaking. A song that hits your soul and makes you miss those you've loved. The guitar sounds so brilliantly mournful it invokes such an emotion. A great song for a great drummer, RIP Rev.
You should do nightmare next, their best song imo
Normally, I'd think for this song, "oh no, the reactor wasn't told the background of their drummer passing" but I wasn't worried with Knox, I knew he had this and he did. Also, that guitar solo has so much emotion that it has its own lyrics.
"As soon as I'm done, I'll be on my way".
that line gets me every time - i think of my father waiting in the great hall for me when its my time.
Another great reaction and this one always tears me up I was supposed to see them in concert and they ended up canceling the show because they said the drummer had food poisoning so they couldn’t make it to the show and then two days later you found out that he overdosed and him in the lead singer Matthew Sanders, we’re best friends, so your heart always pours out for him
The ending line, “and I NEED ya to, need ya to know,” kills me every time. Lost people too and that line gets me
Love that you give metal a chance👌 so many just rubbish it as noise, but never actually listen to the lyrics. So much feeling, soul and passion in most metal bands lyrics that ignorance lets slip away.
thanks for adding your personal touch, appreciate you letting us in that way. Condolences on the loss of your friend
Much love, and RIP to your bro as well!!❤️
Best reactor in my opinion... incredible how you capture the essence! Thank you for that man!
A7X was my first concert. I started listening to them for a girl, and they really ended up influencing me. Great band, great music.
I could definitely see Knox enjoying Critical Acclaim by them
I am so happy. The joy I got from seeing this video pop up can't be understated. Thank you knox. Check out afterlife by avenged sevenfold
Knox Journey to metal has been one of my fav thing In a while every Monday hype to see what else will Knox listen and how he would break it down really show his skill not many reactor can do it how he do it
i love this song so much man
"ill be on my way to live eternally" *guitar solo* it was nice to see you get the feels at that part subbed :)
I absolutely love A7X!! Some songs I recommend: A Little Piece of Heaven, Buried Alive, Unholy Confessions and Nightmare
Oh I would love to see his reaction to A Little Piece of Heaven, how dark it is.
A little piece of heaven is on his Patreon. I requested it last year
I’ve never seen a reactor take in so much while listening to the song. It was so refreshing watching you digest the lyrics in such an honest way.
If you liked this, you gotta check out their track they just dropped today! It's so different. You'll get a real taste for how all over the place and talented they are.
as you guessed this song was tribute to band's original drummer "The REV"
