All the companies are acting like they own the employees and limit what can they do in their own time. The employee and employer relationship should be limited to working hours. What the employer does in his/her personal time is immaterial unless it influences employee performance or a conflict of interest arises. In no other country, this is even an issue. Moonlighting should be a right of the employees.
What would you say when an employee is working during night hours(moonlight) and next day he has to join the main company does this not affect his/her performance. In this case company might be the sufferer then what is wrong if company terminate such employees due the the declining performance
@@AnkitKumar-gb5cp All the companies have periodical reviews and overseeing managers... if the employee is not performing satisfactorily let the employee know... and treat him/her like any other employee... if things do not improve terminate the employee... employee should judge the factors that influence their performance themselves and decide whether to work 2nd job or not.
I have read many articles and opinions of experts in this regard. But none comes close to these 10 minute video which gives a holistic view of the issue and the potential way forward. Commendable job by The Hindu.
Sir you are getting better at this after each passing episode..initially you seemed too serious..but i see you open up your arms more . The delivery is suitably animated now...the content as always is great...
Neatly put by the presenter. Moonlighting , apart from legal, has ethical issues to it. Time would come when employees would be able to negotiate terms with employers and reach understanding on such multiple engagements while being employed. But most big companies have strict conflict of interest policy and prohibit any employee from engaging in any other activities whether as an employee, consultant etc
The tears of employer might be employee will not be doing extra hours that intended where they can earn more money for their stakeholders rather than employees providing benfits for extra hours ..
Even labourers in India earns more than engineer employed by these companies. They save in lightings, hiring of space, etc . Still they are crying, what will happen in future...... Ravinder Kumar Bhatia
even Government employees are denied from having two jobs at same time and i guess companies shouldn't have objection in employee post-office life but subject to how's their performance at their main job.

Very good analysis. It’s high time to change norms, and give employee freedom.

Hobbies are encouraged by employers. If hobbies bring home money why not.
More or less the rate of increasing inflation pushed and still pushing Moonlighting and ethically this isn't wrong
in corporate having full time job moonlight as an actovity os strictly prohibited
Thank you
Andhar guys are good at it
I Hope those 300 employees sue WIPRO.
But moonlighting will increase unemployment also. Because one person doing two jobs.
If you have skills, you also do 10 jobs at a time, productivity is not a crime, you work hard, you earn money .
*Over time 🤣🤣🤣
The Hindu is dead in social media era... He is speaking more than what he knows. He is a glorified tele prompter.
It's highly unethical act
Please work on your pronunciation of "The Hindu".
