I was a dumb kid driving to work one day in my parents minivan. I was approaching a blind turn and while I went through the intersection a motorcycle was flying through. He hit me on the drivers side door, smashed my window and left my car basically totaled. He survived and is fine but I thought I killed that man. My window shattered and I remember looking at the blood all over my face through the rearview mirror and "Dazed and Awake," eerily kept playing through my radio. Listening to this album used to put me in a trance like state and I love it so much. Ever since that accident I can't listen to it the same. This is my first time listening to it in awhile and it makes me grateful to be able to type this comment here. I still think of the motorcyclist who had it way worse than me but it was such a deep and hard lesson to learn at 17.

Hello, just reading your comment which has struck a chord with me.
I had a similar accident in 1992.A kid on a motorcycle hit the side of my car narrowly missing my friend in the front passenger seat....it was dark and the lad didnt have his lights on,a life altering event for everyone that seemingly came out of the blue. The lad suffered life changing injuries as a result.
Situations like this move with you for years, finding it's own resolve but never quite leaving the questions fully answered....Peace to you in 2024

bumping the DAVID PAJO mention, because Aerial M is his solo project and it would be a shame to not know that. Pajo played with Slint, Tortoise, Stereolab, Royal Trux, King Kong, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol among others. Props.

I was at that show. So amazing. I had just played at Metro with Jim O'Rourke's band opening for Stereolab, and most of us high-tailed it over to Empty Bottle for this stellar show. That was my first time seeing Alan Licht, and I said some dumb adoring fan thing to him after.

It's new years right now. No one's at my house because my siblings all have different parties they've gone to. My mother is getting drunk with the neighbors. And my dad left a long time ago. This music both soothes my soul and breaks my heart. This music means so much to me. Thank you David. Happy new years.
