- I finally get behind the wheel of a Dreamscience stage 2 Mk4 Focus ST! This particular car being the edition model, previously reviewed on this channel by myself when it was stage 1 last year. Big up to James for letting me loose in his pride and joy!

I've just watched your Mustang E video and have to say the 0 to 60 on the Focus ST appears to be a much better driving experience - the exhaust sound is just great!
Yea it’s definitely more engaging with a manual, and dramatic. The EV is just super effortless!
Very nice. From what I've seen the Dreamscience tunes generally seem to do a little better than the Mountune ones. A bit smoother as you were saying. What would be interesting is to put a Dreamscience map on, test/time it then delete it. Put an equivalent Mountune map on and repeat tests. Keep all things constant except the tune.
Yea that would be good to test them back to back, shame I don’t have a Mountune car to hand. The Dreamscience map does feel good though 👌🏻

The Mk4 ST seems to be a rarity on the roads, hot hatches in general sadly aren’t as popular as they once were 😢
This makes me want upgrade my st edition now.. goes to show what they’re capable of when you spend that little bit more. It’s so tempting. But it took me ages convince the missus to get the st edition. Suppose she may not notice if have it done 😂😂

@@CarFocused two very valid points. Only thing is she has to occasionally drive it. I wince every time she takes it out. Would be even more nervous if was running 365bhp lol.. may go to 330bhp map. Or even considering changing it in approx 12months for i30N.. decisions decisions .

I have ST mk4 Dreamscience DS Ultima with complete Scorpion Exhaust and kit induction air MST Performance. I use Royal Purple 0W40 + ZX1 Extralube

Great review Gary..I really like these part from the front end which will put me off buying one I’m afraid. Awesome car but don’t look aggressive enough for me.
They do look a bit happy from the front don’t they 😂 I don’t mind them though, would make a great all round car.
Wow impressive 🔥 I’m just about to put the stage 1 on mine. Curious as to what the add ons do to the warranty 🤔
Any modifications to the car will void warranty to parts that the said modification affects - so if you install a map, and your suspension fails - Ford should still honour the warranty. If you install a map and the engine blows up, it’s another story. But, the Dreamscience software can be safely removed and it doesn’t leave a trace of being installed.
Mountune mods won't affect warranty. But not sure how they compare to the others.
@@snotwurfit Mountune are no longer warranty friendly. This ended after the mk3 RS.
Great video Gary. Did you prefer the stage 2 Focus ST or the stage 2 Fiesta ST from dreamscience?
In all honesty I prefer the Focus. I do love the Fiesta but I find the three pot a little lethargic. They also seem to rev hang a fair bit which is a bit annoying. Great cars though and I’m being picky but I’d take the Focus.
You can solve the minor turbo lag issue by activating the standard Anti-Lag system these come with I'm sure🤔

With Standart GPF? I think stage 2 will only deliver with gpf delete the max Power
Yes mate standard GPF still. If it were mine it would be one of the first things to go I think, but James is happy with the car as it is.
It's the next thing to go. But Stage 2 works fine with it. 👍

No way mate mk2 rs is a beast and already going up in value. Plus 5 pot engine is👍.

Is the airbag wrap safe?
I would assume so, you’d have to contact the supplier direct for confirmation.
Airbag is unaffected by the wrap 👍

I hope this engine better than the rs mk3 version I be concerned to push it that hard as I blew my rs up with very low mileage

@@Chappers.Gaming it is the same engine but was detuned. They have now tuned it up so I be careful. They have made some changes but it still basically same engine when I worked at ford saw many failures
@@gavinbetts4404 why did they detune it? That's a shame, the RS is still a unique car regardless of the engine because it's all wheel drive. The ST isn't... Also wow what problems dose the ST / RS engine have, head gasket I know they changed
After all the issues with the mk3 you’d like to think Ford made enough revisions to make this one safe. Plus with 280bhp from factory it’s a considerable drop in power from the mk3. In terms of tuning I don’t have the knowledge or experience to say if it’s safe or not, I guess time will tell!

DS do a great map but I'd put money on it that it's got a de cat on, I know the map includes an over run but it's just to many pops, not that I'm complaining 😉
Standard overrun is about 0.69 seconds I think and DS do 0.95, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 and I’ve only got 0.95 on my mk4 but others have longer and don’t have to de cat it. Sports cat downpipe or de cat downpipe for the stage two.

I wouldn't let dreamscience near a 30 quid car nevermind a 30k car. Most blow up within 20k miles. They've got a terrible rep.
