    Ld for compression = Dia Sigma st/ 4 Tau bd
    Ld for compression = Dia Sigma Sc/ 5 Tau bd ..
    Means while calculating Ld we will take different values of stress in steel in compression & tension of same dia of bar ..
    Such as ..

    Sir, one doubt. If grade of steel increases the strength of steel also increases. Then Ld should decrease but, still why the Ld increases. ( of course Sigma of S is in numerator of formula I know)

    In column the grade of concrete normaly high as compared to beam.
    But while pouring concrete the grade becomes same as of beam and slab while calculating DL we are taking tou bd of higher grade of concrete.
    So is it correct or wrong.
    Should we pour concrete in column portion higher grade, if so how it can be.
    Guide me.

    Please clear my confusion..
    You took Yield strength while calculating Ld . But what is the value below
    For tension safe permissible stress in steel .
    Fe 415 = 230 N/mm2
    Fe 500 = 275 N/mm2
    Fe 550 300 N/mm2
    For compression
    Fe 415 = 190 N/mm2
    Fe 500 N/mm2 = 230 N/mm2
    Fe 550 N/mm2 = 250 N/mm2

    Sir is vedio mai ek confusion hai phle waala vedio mai v confusion tha. Left side mai development of beam and slab in tension member ke liye nikale hai and right side mai development length of column in compression member nikale hai. To confusion yah hai ki. Ld of beam and slab in compression member kha nikale hai and same Ld of column in tension member khan nikale hai. Please 🙏 btaaye sir bhut dino se yah doubts hai
