Lapping zone is the area where two reinforcement bars are overlapped to extend their length beyond the standard length of 12 meters. Lapping zone depends on the bending moment and the tension zone of the beam.
we will show you how to identify the tension zone of a beam and where to provide lapping for the top and bottom bars of a beam. I will also tell you the basic rules and precautions for lapping in beam reinforcement, such as the percentage of bars that can be lapped, the length of Lapping Zone, and the alternative levels of Lapping Zone

To get effective depth of beam, why are we not subtracting 2xcover and 2x half of the dia of bar?
I.e 2x25 and -20 instead of 25 and 10?
Effective depth d= 450-25-25-20= 380mm hoga
