I agree with Chris D...seeing is better than trying to figure it out from the pattern...once I see it done, then following the pattern is much simpler..thank you :)
Thank you for *showing* us how to do this. I have such a difficult time reading patterns. UA-cam has been a literal Godsend to learn how to crochet some of the more "complicated" patterns. I follow along the pattern as you do it. Again, thank you so very much!
Ok...'re-did' the twisted one. Wooo! When I get to the 'slip stitch' to join I lay the work flat and go a bit slower. Hoping after a while I'll get the hang of it. I WILL keep going. Thx!
Thank you. I appreciate all you are doing and all the advice and suggestions from you and everyone more experienced than me. Continued success and happy crocheting. :)
I've never so much as finished a project, and only knew single crochet and chaining before I started this project. I'm pleased to say that I'm following along just fine! My only mistake has been choosing yarn that isn't very pretty. Thank you for your awesome videos!
Hi Mikey, I crochet this motives with you and I added them to the bottomof my sweater. It looks gorgeous and it's because of you. Thanks for your instructions!
Hi, I really like this pattern. Although it is a challenge, the hared work will pay off in a beatiful shawl. Thanks! I've been following you for a long time.
gorgeous this is next on my list to do! I've been wanting to make tab top curtains with an interesting border for the tabs to go on for ages and until now found nothing i liked or if i liked it it seemed too complicated! You are an excellent tutor! :)
OMG I cant Believe how easy you made this thank you MIKEY you are the Best Seriously!!! I was looking for a dressier shawl to wear out Next weekend on a trip to casino and this is it...I made it with a gray shimmer yarn and black but it is coming out beautiful thank you so much I would of looked at this patterned and thought no way I could do this but you always make everything so simple in my mind which left alone to figure out a pattern screams OMG tooo hard lol
Mikey is using a Caron Tulip Etimo crochet hook....they can be purchased online on the Caron website ...if oyu search it the website should pop up ....Cathy@The Crochet Crowd :)
I am new to crochet and everything I've learnt I've learnt from videos I don't read patterns well I saw a scalloped baby hat and mittens pattern on red heart and was wondering if you would consider doing a pattern like this love your videos thank you
Love your video. It's so easy to follow, especially for someone like me who is unable to read a pattern. Thanks!!!! I found this pattern that i love on redheart.com for a roll collar wrap (unfortunatley, youtube will not let me paste the link in my comment) but being unable to read it, i was wondering if you could do a video of it. Thanks
This IS so beautiful that I had to try. I am on my 4th motif and ready to give up. :( The motifs are easy but... IS there a different way to join them? After joining they don't look 'even' and seems like I am 'twisting' when I make the last two chains and joining back. Help...
I'm a little confused. In this video Mickey suggests attaching the motifs to one another as you crochet them. In the written pattern it says he suggests crocheting the large 27 motifs before joining. Which is easier to do? Thank you. :)
Interesting that actual pattern calls for a 4.00mm hook, label on yard recommends a 6.0mm hook and Mikey is using a 5.0mm hook. I made one motif using each hook. Settled on the 5.0mm actual motif size didn't vary much in my opinion given the airy look of the pattern.
Ch 3, dc in first ch-3 space (by working around the post of the joining dc), please explain this instruction...i watched the video and there was no metion of working around the post of the joining dc. Thank you
Newbie question -Can I use any #4 yarn? I cannot find that Red Heart yarn anywhere. And the pattern says to use a G (4mm) hook but you are using a H (5mm), I'm curious as to why? Thank you!
hear fan"Circular Motif Shawl" www.redheart.com/free-patterns/circular-motif-shawl Just finishing it today - with handspun / hand dyed wool - very pretty although not as quick as I thought!
There is no pattern in the link- only this video again- useless for me because uk and au terminology for crochet is different from US - so we need the written pattern to convert... Shame because i love the shawl..
The link in the video's more info doesn't go to the page that has the pattern. I had to dig a bit to find the page with the link to the pattern. www.redheart.com/free-patterns/circular-motif-shawl

Such a lovely item - would be a pretty wedding shawl

Totally agree with you! I am a very visual person....reading patters for me is very difficult! I love this channel.

Making this now with the Bernat Cotton-ish yarn I bought at the Spinrite Tent Sale this past weekend! Thanks for the video Mikey! :-)
yes it should fit a 12 yo ... if your afraid it may be too long oyu could always leave some of the motifs off ....
Cathy@ The Crochet Crowd :)
I am new to crochet and everything I've learnt I've learnt from videos I don't read patterns well I saw a scalloped baby hat and mittens pattern on red heart and was wondering if you would consider doing a pattern like this love your videos thank you
Waaaaw
Thank you I love it
If the size of the shawl doesn't fit as is you could add more motifs to make the shawl bigger Cathy@ The Crochet Crowd:)
No, I am saying i did all 27 large motifs and joined them as I went before doing the interior. You must join as you go.
Hello, Unfortunately Mikey doesn't take video tutorial requests at this time .....Cathy@ The Crochet Crowd:)
Hi Mike ! Can you please do a tutorial on how to crochet an adult vest please
Love your video. It's so easy to follow, especially for someone like me who is unable to read a pattern. Thanks!!!!

شكرا جزيل
I am thinking of doing this as an afghan...would I have to alter the pattern at all, or just make a lot more of the motifs?
In round 3, the pattern says chain 1 and join with a dc. The video says chain 5 and join with a clip stitch. Which is correct?
Interesting that actual pattern calls for a 4.00mm hook, label on yard recommends a 6.0mm hook and Mikey is using a 5.0mm hook. I made one motif using each hook. Settled on the 5.0mm actual motif size didn't vary much in my opinion given the airy look of the pattern.
WOuld this fit a large sized person or how do I make it bigger
Ch 3, dc in first ch-3 space (by

Please How yarn it take it?
I am allowed some flexibility, either result will look the same. Do what you feel more comfortable with.
can you use a cashmere & silk yarn for this pattern?
did you use the cashmere or silk? Lion Brand is having a sale until midnight tonight. Thanks
Newbie question -Can I use any #4 yarn? I cannot find that Red Heart yarn anywhere. And the pattern says to use a G (4mm) hook but you are using a H (5mm), I'm curious as to why? Thank you!

There is NO way I could that!! But good luck everyone! I can't read patterns plus that looks hard.

The link in the video's more info doesn't go to the page that has the pattern. I had to dig a bit to find the page with the link to the pattern. www.redheart.com/free-patterns/circular-motif-shawl
Thanks for adding this. I like to actually read the pattern and follow along so this is a big help!
