Thank you for showing this. I have been watching videos to get ready to start my hand at this technique and didn’t know what to use to seal the paintings.
Thanks my lovely,, they're very shinny and much better than pouring the liquid direct...l like the way you handle it so smooth oooh my goodness they're so beautiful 😍💗😘🎈 happy father's day 😍🎈
this was super helpful, I've been intimated by this Liquitex because every time I see someone using it they also use a torch, I'm so not a fan of a torch. Thank you!
I have not done any varnishing as yet, but I intend to, and your way is so simple, thank you for showing your way, I’m definitely going to give that a go! Inspirational! ❤️❤️
I've watched this video before, but once I was ready to varnish, I had a brain fart and forgot about your way. The way I did it was a disaster. Needless to say, I will NEVER forget again!!! Claire, this is just so simple with astounding results! Thank you so much💗 I must go buy a sponge and hose (pop sock) as you call it. Thank you again!!
Hi Claire, thank you so much for chasing away my reluctance to varnish some of my paintings. This has given me the confidence to do them...once my Liquitex has been delivered.
Thank you Claire, I have wasted so much money with failed varnishing, had given up. Until I saw you making it look so easy, thank you, thank you. Tried, tested and successful. Very happy new painter.
Claire I must thank you so very much for this tutorial on varnishing of paintings which is much appreciated. It was a wish come true cos I was so nervous to attempt it without any knowledge of it cos I've heard of so many making a mess, after all the hard work put into painting it. Thanks once again for the step by step instructions so well explained which is so helpful to beginers like me.
Claire, I can’t thank you enough for this video. I just tried varnishing one of my favorite pieces & it was a mess and totally ruined it, I was in tears. So thank you, I have learned SO much from you. You are wonderful to share your knowledge 💕💕🧜♀️
Ah thank you so much for your message, I feel your pain, i ruined my favourite ever painting varnishing too, in fact I ruined several paintings, its trial and error with varnishing but this works 100% for me, so glad its helped you xxx
THANKS, I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE DARK PAINTING YOU HAVE THERE AS I ENJOY LOOKING AT LAIRY LOUD COLOURS THAT ARE VERY GLOSSY. I PAINTED MY KITCHEN CUPBOARD BRIGHT RED. THE PAINT IS OF A VERY HIGH GLOSS.
Some great tips! Non-spray varnish always scared me because of the (seemingly) increased potential to not coat the canvas evenly but with your tips I think I might have to try the liquid varnish!
I just watched several videos on varnishing, and I have to say, I like your idea the best. I use the Liquitex high gloss varnish, and I was using a sponge brush, and it was working just fine. I had one painting that came out with all kinds of ridges, and I was so disappointed. Oh well. I was looking for a better way to apply the varnish, and your way looks the easiest and best way. Now I just have to get a car sponge and nylons. 🙂 Thank you for creating this video. It was extremely helpful to me. God bless
Thank you so much for explaining, I too ruined a few pieces, which I loved, by doing the pour over, never again! I have a few waiting to dry out, can't wait to try this, many thanks
I ‘m very happy with this video , you Made it so much easier than I was used to and never had such a Nice 😊 end result, thank you very much . I just saw your video’s tonight for the first time and I love your way of pouring and also the way you explain everything with a clear voice , very important to me because I hear not good, I Will gone look a lot at your video’s in the future, thanks again
Thank you so much, after many failed attempts using spray varnish, roll on varnish, even resin I finally mastered your technique! The only difference is I used liquitex pouring medium and it does exactly the same as the gloss varnish, giving a lovely clear finish.
Thank you for this video... I have tons of paintings that I have been to scared to finish them with anything for fear of messing them up but this I think I can do 😂
Thanks for this video Claire. Liquitex really does leave a beautiful smooth finish, super glossy!! I love it, I think I'm going to have to buy some. And using the sponge seems to make your varnish go on much cleaner than my brush, I hate those pesky bubbles!!!
With the high gloss varnish, after it is dry does it still feel sticky or tacky. I now wait 24 hours between coats with Liquitex Gloss varnish for best results. . Have seen so many disasters with the high gloss varnish so have been reluctant to use it. Best information I have seen in your video. Thank you very much Claire. Regards Glenis.
Thank you, Claire, that was very helpful. I have a question. You said you keep the sponge in a plastic bag to keep it saturated. Saturated with what? Water? Thank you in advance.
Hi Claire! this was SO helpful. Could this be done to a canvas that was printed, not painted? I've bought a ready made printed canvas that i'd like to apply this finish to.Please let me know and thanks so much!
How long does the sponge/nylon keep that way? Do you clean it? I was using a foam brush in a bag and started to notice dried bits of varnish when i would go get the brush out again.
@@rainbowacrylicsbyclaire I had a tiny piece hanging off the side that I didn't notice, so when I swiped one way, it left a trail....Lol! Thx.... I'll give the pantyhose a try!!

Excellent. I've tried a number of methods to varying degrees of success. I love the simplicity of your process with excellent results!

Great abstract art work👍

Thank you, Claire. Can I just check. Do you let each layer dry before applying the next. I'm very new to this.

I love the painting with the white negative space is there a creation video for it? Thanks in advance
I had a look but can’t find it, I don’t think I filmed it, it was such a long time ago x

Excellent lesson! Great results. How long until completely cured and able to pack and ship?
Thank you so much 😊 I wait 3-4weeks x

Once dry it’s not sticky at all, smooth and glossy, only takes about 20mins to dry x
Ty so much for the instructions.. if I did get a bubble, is there away to fix it?
I just wipe it with my finger while it’s still wet x
Thank you for you video. I used it in similar way and had a lot of cracks on my varnish. Do you know why it might happen?
Maybe because the varnish layer is too thick?
Thank you, Claire, that was very helpful. I have a question. You said you keep the sponge in a plastic bag to keep it saturated. Saturated with what? Water? Thank you in advance.
The sponge soaks up the varnish so saturated with varnish, I put it on a bag and squeeze out the air so it doesn’t go hard x
Hi Claire! this was SO helpful. Could this be done to a canvas that was printed, not painted? I've bought a ready made printed canvas that i'd like to apply this finish to.Please let me know and thanks so much!
I’m really not sure x
Hello, why do I get tiny bubbles with this technique? Do I need to wring out the sponge before each use?
Molto interessante 👍
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a question though - does anyone use polyurethane or poly acrylic finish or is varnish better for paintings?
Not sure unfortunately x
Do you use a dense sponge and where did you get it?
It’s quite light and fluffy, from the car section in a supermarket x
How long does the sponge/nylon keep that way? Do you clean it? I was using a foam brush in a bag and started to notice dried bits of varnish when i would go get the brush out again.
The sponge and nylon stays like that for ages but the bag I store them in has bits of dried varnish on so needs changing x
How long do you wait between coats of varnish?
About 30mins x
How long do you let your paintings dry before vanishing them?
At least 3weeks x
my problem is that in my city no one sells varnish, and NIT a single shopping web sites from inside the country has it either...so idk😢
How long do you wait between layers of varnish please
About 30mins x

Does the pantyhose help decrease brush marks/lines from the sponge?
Yes and also stops bits of the sponge breaking off and sticking to the paintings x

About 30 minutes x
@@rainbowacrylicsbyclaire sorry i just saw this, thank you so much ❤🥰.
Can we make PM at home ?
Yes from pva glue and water x
