^THIS^ is a cooking show! It's not on some fake fancy set with everything already prepped and staged, edited and all foo-foo. It's a real kitchen. It's too small, the counters are cluttered, no brand new fancy pots and pans, you make do with what you've got and the whole time you're cooking your family is yelling and carrying on in the living room. We all know we can fix this dish because this is exactly what all of our kitchens are like. And clearly, the number one ingredient is love!

They learned how to make it from black people and I defy you to find any traditionally white foods that are seasoned the same way that black people season it. White people's potato salad tastes totally different than black folks potato salad and anyone who knows cuisine knows that. Just because white people now cook the slave food which became a delicacy (just goes to prove once again the genius of black people who have always been able to make something out of nothing) doesn't mean that it's all the same. It's not and that is why you have soul food restaurants and their foods don't taste the same as Italian or Chinese or German or Greek or French dishes dummy. Ms T is just as talented as some of the most famous chefs in restaurants charging over $100.00 per dinner guest. They use fancy kinds of cheeses that I can't spell or pronounce. My mom cooked the same way - her hands were blessed with love, kindness and generosity. Hearts should be popping out all over the screen as she cooks. At the end she says some of her family have been out and when they come in famished, this mac and cheese is going to be GONE! She made this soulful creation for those she loves - - WITH LOVE!!! It will be enjoyed by her and famiy, not a fancy professional filming crew. Everything she cooks is a masterpiece filled with love! I made this recipe and it’s delicious!! Not only is it easy but it’s cheap to make especially when you’re feeding a large crowd.This ALDI cheese in Kansas is about $4.50 each block instead of paying $7-$8 for the Velveeda brand. Absolutely delicious 💯💯 thanks so much I love how genuine you are.

3 tablespoons....you didn't add, nor do you need to add 45ml of oil to your water. 1/3 of that is fine. If you want really oily pasta, go right ahead. Use olive oil though, canola tastes like shit. "my macaroni is boiling" "while my macaroni is boiling" not once when you have said this has your water ever been boiling....it's hilarious. "im making a cheese sauce" no you're not, you're melting cheese and heating milk. Sauce has a thickening agent like a roux, or corn starch or starch in general.

Mis B Seems the sugar counters the sour cream. I said the same, but I knew others that use sour cream. I really don't remember a sweet taste, more of a creaminess. Hope that helps.

I lived in Willowbrook part of LA. We had a whole lotta black people living around us. We are Mexican, and we had a church across the street from my Mom and Dad’s corner store. Man o man, they could cook up some xcellent food. Ribs, chicken , beans, slice of bread, macaroni with cheese sweetpotato pie it was DELICIOUS. DAD would buy 3 dinners and send to our house, across the street.

I cook with mainly vegetables and herbs from my garden, eggs from my neighbors coop, lean and organic meat, use extra virgin olive oil more than butter, Himalayan sea salt, own and use often an air fryer, and I have absolutely nothing but LOVE for this woman and her videos, so I suggest a lot of you folks here save your condescending cyber finger-wagging for yourselves and your own vices. I made this and it’s the most phenomenal Mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted. Brought it to thanksgiving last year and my whole family raved about it. Definitely a once a year cheat meal! I keep coming back to this recipe.

I saw this video years ago and have been looking for it ever since! So happy I found it again. Still one of the best cooking videos I've ever seen on UA-cam.
In this day and age, it's so difficult to find content on tv or online that not pretentious and serving up reality instead of some fake "perfect" this and "neat" that. If food network was like this, I'd watch more often. This was such a heartwarming cooking video. So pure and genuine, many times I forgot I wasn't there with you as you made it feel so homely, it was as if I was there helping out haha. I absolutely loved it! This is the real honest truth! Angie Beaver my grandma used to make some type of meat, with bone in it, and make us drink two day old soda, because we opened it, and had a sip left, and she kept pouring that sip into a cup, and before we left, would try to get us to every soda we ever drank during that trip, mixed together. And when I got a stomach ache from something she cooked, she made me stick an alka-seltzer tablet on my tongue, until I threw up. So I'm not understanding this whole "warm grandmother" type deal.
