You must try out Home Free's cover of Do You Hear What I Hear and Mary Did You Know.
Watch them sing Do You Hear What I Hear . They do an amazing job. Adam's beat boxing is out of this world
The sisters at the Notre Dame Basilica in Mankato Minnesota gave Home Free permission to film this amazingly beautiful Christmas carol. This is my favorite rendition of any I've ever heard, it's more joyous and relatable than any I've listened to. Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season.
Isn't that the same church they filmed angels we have heard on high?
It's ok to say " down home " because that's really who they are 😊
Filmed at the chapel of The Sisters of Notre Dame, Mankato Minnesota.
Mankato
Angels we have heard on high. Filmed in the same basilica.
I heard that Tim Foust made this arrangement of this song at age 19 when he was a member of an earlier a cappella group. He has a five octave range, so he has no problem singing any part of the range.
This is before Chris Rupp left to pursue his own interests and Adam Chance would then replace him in the group. (2016?)
If you listen to their outro they tell you where they made this video.
I love Home Free! If you haven’t heard their Do You Hear What I Hear - it is one with Chris Rupp and it is one of my favorites! Great reactions!!
Yessss!!! Adam did the arrangement & its spectacular ❤❤
A masterpiece!!! ❤
#HOMEFREE!,,,,,so beautiful!
I just love them! I was so glad to discover this rendition this year. So special!
What do you love about Home Free's Christmas music? And their music in general? I LOVE YOU, HOME FRIES! Thanks for watching. 😘
Aside from being Christmas music two of their best videos are Do You Hear What I Hear and Children Go Where I Send Thee featuring Kenny Rogers. Both are with Chris Rupp 😊
I just love the way they put there spin on all that they do. And they are all best of friend in rl and it shows in their music. And as many have said you need to rest to did you hear what I hear and Marry did you know they’re so good. Also they have an original holiday song Snow Globe that is fantastic. This arrangement was put together by Tim back in high school when he was with another group. So much talent.
For Home Free's music generally, it's a relief from the sex, drugs and rock & roll. Since the music labels have homogenized music and song generally, Home Free remains selective with their material while being original in presentation. Of course, the many beautiful and perfect harmonies are its brand. Also Home Free has been unaffected by the 30-year rap virus, the countercultural, loser-behavior variety. Who needs more inspiration to violence, a war on police and and free-range breeding for fun and profit.
There is much to be eschewed on the music scene. HF is no part of that. They are decent.
I enjoy it when you come back to Home Free, they really are extraordinary! On top of the great singing and harmonies, they have written some really good songs of their own and performed them as a group! Thanks, Low bass Kenneth
I loved your reaction to these men I totally agree with you. They seem so genuine and down to earth. # HOMEFREE.
Hi from Wales. What a beautiful rendition
Saw HF in concert in French Lick, Indiana last Friday, the 15th. Third time I've seen them in concert and It was the best one yet. They are simply amazing and do such a good job of getting the audience involved. It was my Christmas Present to me, and undoubtedly the best gift I will get this year.
I was there as well. Fourth time I had seen them since June. I also agree the it was the best one I had been to.
Community/family/brotherhood totally explains Home Free and the appeal they have - aside from the music. Lots of groups can sing well, can meld well, but there is something about HF that just draws you in.
Nine years has done wonders both for Austin himself and for his voice. Austin at 28 was fantastic. Austin at 37...
Of course, they have all matured - their new cover of Colder Weather is lovely, their Christmas in LA - the audio was released 2 years ago, but the video just the beginning of Dec - is amazing....
This is the best rendition of this song I have ever heard. Their harmonies are wonderful. Adam Chance took Chris's place. I've heard that Tim did this arrangement when he was still in high school. If you haven't already, check out their rendition of "Auld Lang Syne". They tell you at the end where they filmed. Thank you for not mentioning Tim's twang....we Texans have a twang...it's inborn.
This is the song that introduced me to Home Free. It’s still my favorite rendition!
This song was my first introduction to Home Free--and they've been my favorite musicians ever since!
Love it when these guys voice the bell tones🔔
Besides the unbelievable harmonies--and gorgeous church backdrop--getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is a real treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
#HomeFree #HomeFreeDoesChristmasBest #AdamRuppSinging
For as incredible a beatboxer as Adam Rupp is, when he sings, he adds so much, magical!!!
arranged by Tim when he was 18-19 years old! Such talent from 5 guys is unequaled plus this is real worship! You can tell these guys are true believers and show such loved and respect to the Lord Jesus!
I think one of the things (besides his amazing voice) that makes Austin my favorite (but I love them all) is the joy he obviously gets from singing. If you watch their recent release of I Want Crazy, during part of it they are being grumpy and you can almost tell how hard it is for Austin to sing that way. Definitely recommend it and all of their recent releases.
I went to their Dec. 2nd Christmas show and it was amazing!
Their music is joyous except when it is not. They love singing together and it shows.
Masterpiece from the boys. Tim's stunning arrangement. I've seen them live. They are incredible!!
Love that so many folks are FINALLY discovering this performance! My favorite rendition by far!
So beautiful! Did not know you were doing this!! 🤗🤗🤗
I’m suggesting “Angels We Have Heard On High”- Angelic Rob leads off, more 5 part harmony, and the arrangement is stunning, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas “- Rob lead. Not only is are the harmonies glorious, the video itself will tug at your heartstrings.
Well, it was this song that got me started; well, "THE VOICE" that did!!! Typical of the season, being November, Gospel songs & Hymns related to CHRISTmas, I'd heard so many times before but it sounded good -- really good and clean, that lower voice started moving up which caught my attention --- then even higher from that fry/scoop yet so so clean (audio only, imagine)... Got my attention and had to look 'em up -- to "find" that voice and listen again... and again --- NOT TYPICAL!!! I've been stuck ever since -- and perfectly happy. Intrigued enough to "have to see it for myself" ... and I did, a bit surreal (even after!). Verified and will go see 'em again. Phenomenally Exceptional - Exceptionally Phenomenal !!! They are the only group that can pull off Country -- and Oh MY!!!! Wishing you the best Happy Holidays & a VERY Merry CHRISTmas!!! Be Safe
How nice to see you again, I have missed your reactions to Home Free. Thank you for sharing with us!
This was delectable!!! Simply divine.
Thank you for this reaction, Christi. I adore Home Free, and I adore you, my friend. I'm so glad for all you do, and for the light your bring into this world. Wishing light and love unto all, in this time, and in every time. May there be good nights and glorious mornings, to all.
Thank you for the wonderful reaction to this classic Christmas song. It was an amazing performance. After the holidays, I would appreciate you reacting to Diana Ankudinova's recent performance on the Art of Hans Zimmer concert in Russia. She performed her rendition from the soundtrack of the movie Dune.
Love .. 🌲🤍🌲 .. Home Free ! Thank you
This arrangement was done by Tim Foust. Fabulous--as is everything they do!
“Mary did you know” and their original song “Snowglobe” are two I would highly recommend
New subscriber. Yours is the best reaction I've seen to this gorgeous rendition. All of your observations, from those about the individual voices to their down-home a cappella brotherhood, were right on point. And I appreciate your generous spirit. If you haven't heard their collaboration with Kenny Rogers on the old black gospel Christmas tune Children Go Where I Send Thee I think you'll be blown away. Home Free has a lot of top-notch Christmas songs. And their beautiful original, by Tim, Snow Globe, as well as their newest release, Colder Weather, will give you a chance to hear Chance and solos by all of the guys.
If you go back and listen to the very last few seconds Austin explains where this was filmed.
You are correct in your sentiment - They are incredible vocalists .... five that never disappoint ! Harmony is as great as the vibrato, silky smooth and out of the world range .... all are wonderful .... Tim has a three range voice ....& Bass is legendary ! jj
Sincere reaction. Greetings from Holland
I have been following them since the sing off. I just love Home Frees tight harmony. Angels we have heard on high is another one with Adam singing.
I saw HF live three weeks ago in Charlotte. Outstanding breakdown of this performance. Thank you!
Austin"s degree is in Theatrical performing which is why he communicates the message of each and every song he performs.
Beautiful harmonies
Beautiful song, loved the reaction.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Just got home from seeing them in concert tonight. They sang this one, and they were amazing.
Love your reaction and break down of this beautiful rendition of this song
I love the tight harmonies and incredible talent of each member of Home Free. I did have a ticket to the Christmas concert, but became ill and unable to go. I was at last year's Christmas concert and several others. They are just as good live as they are on video. In some cases, better than they are on video. They are personable and the most humble down to earth men you could ever meet. Thank you for your wonderful reaction to my favorite group.
This is so glorious. I'm not a fan of Christmas music, but somehow Home Free makes it so much better. Their version of Do You Hear What I Hear, arranged by Adam Rupp, is my absolute favorite of their performances, which is saying a lot. If you want to see smolder, watch their version of When A Man Loves a Woman.
You should always check to see if they have an outro - your venue questions were answered there.
😇 Beautiful ❤. Great reaction. HF🤠🔥
Heeeey Christi ! Merry Christmas to you, my sweet friend! 🤗❤🎄🎅 I was fortunate enough to hear Home Free in concert last week! And they performed this song live. They are sooo amazing! 🥰 Such wonderful human beings as well as incredible musical artists! Thank you for reacting to this - one of my favorite versions for sure of this classic Christmas song! I always love your analysis and educated reactions - I always learn something new! Thank you, so much. Peace to you - see you again soon!! xo
That must have been amazing.
@@Indigo_moon 😃 It was... They are great performers - and their music is somehow even more amazing when you see it live...
In the end of the video they say were was film the video
Thank you for your genuine joy in hearing good music! Your knowledge and experience adds so much to the enrichiment of our own love of Home Free. It's getting pretty late to be making Christmas recommendations, but "Do You Hear What I Hear?" is, in my opinion, the masterpiece of arrangement (by Adam Rupp) and performance. I don't consider it Christmas until I've played that one!
Please consider reviewing their version of "Angels We Have Heard on High." They made that song quite special.
Thank you for your reaction &, great break down …yes, Tim’s voice is so awesome &, his amazing range, which so many are so surprised 🙃💗🙃😵💫…&, Austin, well, he’s just too marvellous 🙃❣️💗❣️🙃….the 2 are so scrumptious….‼️🔥‼️ And, they’re down to earth guys that they are …. What makes these guys are totally Spectacular 💗🙃❣️🌟❣️🙃💗
New sub today. I enjoyed very much the comments you made on my favorite group to listen to. I wish I’d had a teacher like you when I was younger. Now I’m lucky to get out enough air to stop the old lady shakiness! But I still love to sing.
Oddly, we hear only the first verse of this song, repeated. Yet the arrangement, and performance blend so well, but are so different, they blend together to make it whole.
Tim has a 5 Octave Voice, which although unusual in a standard Male voice structures, but, not in most quality Bass singers, who often have 4 to 5 octave ranges. Geoff Castellucci, Avi Kaplan, Nick Massi, Elliott Robinson, Paul Robeson to mention just a few, past & Present
Thanks for reacting to this song. Chris and Adam established early on how they would treat their fans even through personnel changes this has remained consistent. Their entire organization is onboard with the treatment of their fans. I think Tim arranged this at a younger age for another group. Any time all of them sing it is special.
Merry Christmas! Your expert reactions are always interesting and informative. Unfortunately for some (me) non singers who sound like a hacksaw going through sheet metal the finer points are often lost.
If there is an outro, you really should watch it. They usually fill in some information. Thanks for an instructive review.
I just wanted to say that I love you. I also think your reactiyes or excellent.
You said that you hadn't seen Chris Rupp before. Maybe my old age is catching up since I thought you had reacted to "Do You Hear What I Hear" a year or two ago. If I'm wrong - do that one (arranged by Adam Rupp). It is a tour de force.
Please do pentatonix version, out ~ 4 months ago. VEVO live performance., plus Kiss of a Rose.
Please find time to react to Angels We Have Heard On High.
Nice version but miles away from the one of DAN VASC. Check it out in youtube
Cance is after 2015.
Where's the backing choir? No credit?
The Chapel at the Catholic University Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana is the setting for this hymn.
They recorded this in Mankato Minnesota, not Indiana. The confusion with the name is understandable.
They said in the outro it's in Mankato, Minnesota....where Chris & Adam are from. 😉🥰
The specific location is the Chapel of the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mankato, MN. It’s an organization of Christian women, but I’m not sure if they’re Catholic Nuns exactly or not. They have locations across the world. Their name can certainly lead you to believe it was Notre Dame University, as that’s what most people know.
@@momD612 I defer to your correction. I remembered it differently for some reason.
@@meaders2002 watch the video outro. They say it very clearly.
After years of performing, Austin has lost his fear of failure. It's the Reason you see the dead eyes on the plastered. Face is awesome singers if not all who are learning the craft . Surveys have showed that the same most feared by people is not death but public speakill. the dathe dead eyes Is fear of failure. Austin has lost thathe rest Of the home free performers have.
No more Angelina Jordan four months? I’m done with you. Unsubscribe.
