Man i just want to say thank you for the videos. I just started playing MTGA like a week ago and i found your channel while trying to learn the game via watching videos. Now i have watched like last 20 video you posted, great content! The only bad thing is now i can't search another game without saying '' Alright, onto the next one ''
So, this deck looked super fun, and after having tried it it is AMAZING as a FTP/low-paying player on Arena: 1. Games are super fast so you do your dailies very quickly 2. The combos are genuinely fun 3. It is fairly easy to pilot for less-than exceptional players (such as me, I fear) 4. Best of all, it seems like the opponents are actually kinda liking the deck too! I received a surprising amounts of "nice!" reactions while combing with cavalcade/rider/spitfire. I guess it must be fun seeing an unexpected combo play out, even when you are on the receiving end. I also suspect that losing quickly is not that bad from the opponent perspective - definitely the game does not drag out! So, thanks for the excellent content!
@@StrawMan1235 yeah, for some reason mono red decks manage to curve to Torbran way too consistently. I run 28 and I still miss my fourth land drop often enough.
God I missed lobotomized mono-red. Something that just feels SO right about turning a bunch of creatures sideways with the Conga song blasting in the background. T H E R A P E U T I C
Fun combo, LegendVD :) 8 cavalcades in the deck sounds nice. But it won't work in most cases :-D So, I don't recommend to craft it. Those 10 wins I believe out of 30 games in the best case. Realistically out of 60. It's easy to break this combo, as you need 3 things on the table: 1. something that grows using non-combat damage, 2. Something that deals non-combat damage, 3. Creatures with 1 attack. So you need to put it on the table fast. And Hellrider is very expensive for this deck. Few suggestions: 1. Card draw - is a must. As there are 16 1-mana cards. (Light Up, Flame Of Keld). Without it, you will seat with an empty arm and table in 80% of games. 2. Monored aggro should not have 24 lands - that is a lot. 3. 4 knights - not synergetic for this deck. (in most cases it's just 1/1 as chances to draw 2 out of 4 in the first 3 turns is very low. -3 equip ability not working). 4. Put 2 Ramunap Ruins instead of 4. It's very expensive to do 2 damage. You will use it very late in rare cases. But 4 of them will make rare land to enter tapped pretty often. 5. Hellrider is expensive. Despite it seems synergetic. I've put 4 Lighting Strikes (you need removals as most of creatures 1/1, you need to throw something big in the face, you can enable Chandra's ability that wasn't used as well) So, something like this can make you enjoy the game more frequently: Deck 18 Mountain (ANB) 114 3 Chandra, Acolyte of Flame (M20) 126 2 Torbran, Thane of Red Fell (ELD) 147 2 Castle Embereth (ELD) 239 4 Scorch Spitter (M20) 159 4 Chandra's Spitfire (M20) 132 4 Cavalcade of Calamity (RNA) 95 4 Fanatical Firebrand (RIX) 101 4 Torch Courier (GRN) 119 4 Chandra's Pyreling (M21) 138 1 The Flame of Keld (DAR) 123 4 Light Up the Stage (RNA) 107 4 Lightning Strike (XLN) 149 2 Ramunap Ruins (AKR) 326 In any case - you have great content VD. I'm enjoying it. Especially drafts:-D
At some point, virtually every standard, Mono Red "Something" is just a bastard. Bastards are supposed to make everyone around them salty. You sir, have won the salt wars.
Nice deck. When I started playing on arena after a 15 years magic hiatus, I had an almost identical one. Got to mythic from bronze in 6 days without knowing the first thing about the current meta!
Made the deck, played a tournament and made a 6-2. The only losses against Neoforms. I used Hellrider a lot back in standard, love the card. I never lived the dream (Gimli plus Hellrider or Cavalcade) and I never used the Ranumap and one loss was because drew 2 and 2 castles, so I think it should be 4 castles and 2 Ranumaps or even 1. Very good content!!
@@LegenVD Yeah, I used to always play 3 in standard (in mono red) because of that, but in this version (all creatures except for the Cavalcade) I think the risk is worth it, because if you dont have Hellrider or Cavalcade, the extra damage is very important. If the deck were more "classic" (with shocks or direct damage and bigger creatures) and you expected longer/grindier games, the Ranumaps are much better than the 4 Castles.
I agree with Light up the Stage, especially because you can probably get away with cutting four lands for them, since this deck would be so consistent at triggering spectacle.
I don't love Light Up in decks with this many 4-drops and so few burn spells. It will lead to many awkward situations where we are unable to play the extra cards or struggle to enable spectacle.
At 17:38, could you have sacrificed fanatical firebrand to deal 1 damage to face after the attack step but before damage, pumping spitfire one more time for lethal?
Wonderful deck, fun and fast, well done and thank you! I only have a doubt, there are no draw cards and i was thinking to add Light up the stage, you think it's a good idea? If yes what substitution do you suggest? Again, nice video! :D

I think it is one of the best decks to climb the ladder (other options are goblins mono-red, embercleave mono-red, and burn mono-re). You will have the 50% win rate you need to climb even if you make some misplays. But, the most important part is that games last 1-5 minutes instead of 10-30 minutes. To get to mythic you usually need to play hundreds of games. Time adds up pretty quickly
This deck doesnt perform the same as in a video. And thats very sad. Most of the times in historic you get destroyed on turn 4 when you have 2 or 3 1/1 on the board and that's all. I dont believe author didn't cut off all his losses, and I thought Legend lets them stay in his videos which is fair to the viewers. The deck doesnt have a single removal exept maybe sacrificing firebrand, and against equipment decks and curiosity decks you just cant attack or lose in a race.
Variance is a thing that exists. Linear aggro and combo decks can get away with playing fewer removal spells if they can consistently win by turn four.
