That's the sh*ts that a connector lock was not seated all the way, causing the connector to wiggle. Kudos to the tech who was very diligent in running it down all the way. It's a b*tch to run down an intermittent electrical and or comm failure. He's a damn good tech and found the problem. Just be glad it wasn't an intermittent open on the comm or electrical cabling as those are a serious PITA to isolate and then replace the entire harness or jumper a new wire for the entire end-to-end run for an intermittent copper open. Nice truck...and a great tech you got. I have PB Limited, 2021 so I can appreciate your truck. PS: Like you I am not a zealot for any particular brand, eg, Chevy, GMC, Dodge or Toyota.. I like-em all and they all have their issues. It's just the way it is as you mentioned.
Thanks for the update! The digital gauge cluster was one of the selling points for me on the lariat as well. I'm up to 5k miles now in the middle of a Minnesota winter and the truck has been flawless. Just had first oil change done free with Ford points.

I’m in the market for an F150 and now thinking of going with a used 21 Powerboost instead of ordering new to get the features people are missing on the new ones. Could maybe pick up a Platinum for the price of a new Lariat. Thanks again for the videos. I didn’t know much about these trucks and you’ve helped me understand the Powerboost a lot!
@@patrickbriggs1883 yeah they’re sick. There’s nothing like ordering your own new car though. Coming from VW and needing a bigger vehicle for my business and hauling a dog and child around. It would be my first truck too!
Glad to see you got it back. I was concerned that maybe it could be a design flaw and was something I was going to have to worry about. On a side note, I am coming from a 2020 Shelby GT350 Heritage edition which in the city driving was around 13mpg and that was taking it easy. Now I get over 20mpg in a much heavier truck with twin turbos.
It’s a really well built truck. Coming from driving the explorer limited for a week; getting back into the f150 I noticed a significant bump in quality… I know several people with gt 350’s and they get shockingly bad mileage. My 07 z06 would get 20 around town and 25-30 highway (before the cam). It’s almost unbelievable how bad the mustang is on fuel lol
And Ford wonders why they’re losing money🙄 *hint* it’s bc of dumb recalls like these and prices being too high! Glad you got it back in good condition, though.
Hi Patrick , I got a 22 platinum power boost and mine is making a clicking noise in the front end when it goes from electric to gas , does yours have the same noise ? Just trying to figure out, went to the dealer and they couldn’t fine anything wrong with it , idk if is normal or not but i soon as i left the dealer and drove the truck for a while the clicking noise started again …
I’m not so sure I want one ….you know w parts shortages ..labor shortage….know these things are going to have troubles…even the tundra I’ve heard is having problems. Maybe I wait.
I've talked to (3) guys that have had the Powerboost and all (3) sold the trucks because of the jerky transmission. Is that an issue with your truck? Thanks in advance.
