@@kiddied1426 I really love this MOS so far. I’m currently at AIT halfway through my training. I will say, aviation AIT is a completely different monster compared to any other MOS. Aviation is a stress inducing mos. we have high responsibility - if you mess the smallest thing up you can and will kill people. Therefore AIT here has incredibly high standards and purposely stresses you out to test your limits and ability to focus under pressure. more so than basic training. If you are not dedicated, thorough and meticulous with all the things you do, aviation is not for you.

If you really enjoy working on trucks then this is the perfect mos for you. But, Im warning you, you will be dealing with a lot of bs in this mos. Trust me! And if you have experience prior to joining, then you most likely be doing most of the work while your battle buddies are shitbagging!!
The experience is great but you will have to get your A&P while in to get a good job when you get out. Ait doesn’t teach you everything you need for the A&P but there are programs you can use offered by the army toward the end of your contract to get one before you get out. It will take a lot of work and time.
This is so weird to see two sergeants I’ve seen when I went there and someone who is currently at my unit on a UA-cam video. Obviously I am 15U, and I’ve recognized three people lol Edit: also one of the people I saw in this video is actually in my unit.
@@alexecheverria8971 idk. I myself aren’t one. Honestly the training can have the same thing said about basic be said about it. It’s not like horrible but definitely not easy. Also depends on slots that are open from what I see
What are my chances of becoming a crew chief? Do I get to choose witch path I go down like assault or maintenance? Dose everyone get the chance to become a crew chief? Thanks
Some get chosen to go flight(crewchief/flight engineer) right out of AIT. More often than not though, most are in the maintenance company for a year or two before they’re either requested to go flight or they request to go flight
15U is a general mechanic. You'll start in a line unit (doing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance depending on your BN). If you're good you might get taken by a thought company (bravo company). I enlisted as 15U and ship out in two weeks. I’m so stoked !

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what parts I should focus on the ASVAB to get 104 points in the mechanics area?
mechanical maintenance. it isnt super hard just know how to map a diagram (like understanding ratios and if this then that)
how does this differ from other heli mechanic jobs?
By fixing civilian helicopters in airfields or working in the army as a civilian
Different airframes.
