Newby here.... During the Iranian crisis about 1979 I was stationed aboard the Midway ( CV-41 ) and bought a cheap guitar in PI for $20. My best friend and I joined and went together so..... with not much else to do I began to learn to play. Being a die hard Neil fan I learned who knows how many songs of his. Forward to today... I,m 65 and had pretty much given it up... harmonica and all..... then I got Covid. I made it through but just barely..... but realized at least one thing.... Picked up my old guitar and going to play again ! No more wasting time ! This song in particular I remember learning years ago...... but not like this . Thank you ! Hitting it hard tomorrow !!!
That’s awesome JJ! Thanks for sharing. I’ve got a few Neil and/or CSN lessons here. Glad you beat COVID. I got it about 3 weeks ago and am just now feeling back to normal. Stay tuned to my channel… you are exactly the type of person I do this for!
Thank you Mike for generously sharing your God given talent with us. I get so mesmerized by your playing I forget at times that I stopped by to learn Lol. Thanks again Mike we appreciate you.
Thanks Tony. It’s a do-over… I had posted the same lesson using a different guitar but it overpowered the microphone. Didn’t realize how quacks it sounded until after I posted. This one is better. Cheers!
@@campfire_guitar_lessons I noticed that Mike. I was about to ask if it was a Martin, when I noticed the Taylor. I like this one so much better because it gives me a sample of how my 12-fret Taylor should sound!!
Thanks Duke. I had to re-do the lesson due to the Martin guitar overpowering the mic in the first posting. Should have caught that before I posted it. Live and learn!
Thanks Rig! I’ve definitely simplified Neil’s version. His original sounded like a solo demo… he wasn’t consistent in chord structure from verse to verse. Regardless, I’ve loved his version for 40 years.
Thanks ski, and thanks for your service. Sounds like you have some really nice hardware! That Collings dred is perfect for old Neil tunes like this one.

I’ve learned so many songs from Mike. Guitar playing really IS easy, just takes dedicated practice and Mike Kelly!
Thanks for the kind words Dan! Dedicated practice is the key factor.

Wow. Just found your channel and thank you for these great lessons. Can I ask what guitar you are using on this song?
Thanks David! It’s a Taylor custom shop Grand Auditorium. Redwood top and walnut back and sides. Short scale, 12 frets to the body.
Got it thanks Mike Kelly. I won't even bother with the notation sheet. Figure it out this way seems easier.
Eric… the melody is laid out at the bottom of the comment that I pinned. Thanks.
Had to have more after the Cinnamon Girl lesson .Great fun
Same tuning, but a whole different feel. Thanks for checking it out, DW!
Thought i never gonna say this butt...i liked your version better than uncle Neil's...im learning yours, god jobb Mike🤠

Hey Mike, Part two is hard to follow. Are you able to type out the tabs for part two? Thanks!
Howdy Tom. Please look at the bottom of my first pinned comment. Both parts of the riff are laid out in my numbering format. Thanks.
