How to Sound Bluesy in Dropped D

To me, there are two sides of playing acoustic blues in the key of D. You can fingerpick the brighter side of things and go for a Mississippi John Hurt kind of sound or drop your 6th string and play with a darker, bluesier vibe.
In this lesson, we'll get that low growl happening on the 6th string by using Dropped D tuning and we'll throw a couple of gritty, dirty sounding blues licks right on top.
If you're looking for a quick way to expand your confidence playing D Blues, give this lesson a shot.
Tune Down. Have fun!

Normally I consider myself rather the Metal guitar freak..but I get more and more involved in that frank cool rural acoustic Blues..

@@BluesGuitarInstitute I subscribed and for sure will be following your posts. I'm more of blues/rock electric player, but the acoustic stuff is dear to my heart bc it is how I grew up listening to my dad play the ol' blues stuff. Again, great technique and teaching style. Learning more all the time. ty- Joshua
You talk too much. It's not that complicated.
