- The Disaster Transport SR is a dual delay with reverb and modulation. It was designed from the ground up to create an intense wash of lo-fi swirling tape styled echo. While it may look intimidating at first glance, it’s actually pretty easy to navigate. The top row of controls are for delay A and the bottom row of controls are for delay B. Delay A is a 600ms delay with modulation and delay B is a 300ms delay with reverb. Both delays can be run separately, in parallel, in series or in series/parallel. To take it one step further, there are also expression controls for the repeats on delay A as well as bleeding delay A into delay B. The switching was designed so each delay can be used individually or in tandem with both true bypass or trails.
In addition to being used as a straight delay, straight reverb, rhythmic delay, modulated delay and old school tape-style echo, the Disaster Transport SR can also be used to create a wide variety of wild sounds ranging from warped records, clanging flange, smooth chorus, echoed out squalls and various other-worldly effects that will blow your mind, man. If you are a fan of old school tape delay and crazy lo-fi sounds, you will get hours of enjoyment every time you plug into the Disaster Transport SR.
Delay A Controls:
Time: Controls the delay time from about 30ms up to 600ms.
Repeats: Controls how many regenerations of the signal there are. This ranges from one single repeat through an endless wash into self oscillation. This can also be controlled via an expression pedal. The Moog EP-2 is recommended.
Mix: Level control for the wet signal. Unity is around center, anything above is boosted. Boosting this works great when using a distorted signal. Please keep in mind this is a gain control, a bit of hiss is normal when it’s above unity.
Depth: Controls the intensity of the modulation, from no modulation to all out seasick pitch bends.
Rate: Controls the rate of the modulation. The LED for delay A flashes in time with the modulation to visually show where the rate is set.
Bleed: This feeds delay A into delay B, post reverb. Use this control for series or series/parallel operation to create rhythmic repeats, extra long delay time or an all out echo wash. This can also be controlled via an expression pedal. The Moog EP-2 is recommended. When using the bleed, experiment with the repeat controls on each delay line. Try using them in different settings, both together and individually, for different timing and textures.
Delay B Controls :
Reverb: Controls the amount of reverb added to the input of delay B.
Mix: Level control for the wet signal. Unity is around center, anything above is boosted. Boosting this works great when using a distorted signal. Please keep in mind this is a gain control, a bit of hiss is normal when it’s above unity.
Repeats: Controls how many regenerations of the signal there are. This ranges from one single repeat through an endless wash into self oscillation.
Time: Controls the delay time from about 30ms up to 300ms.

Having played this pedal for close to two years now I feel it is the best "ambient" tool on the market. It really is "Cocteau Twins in a box".
I'd even go so far as to say it is my favorite pedal released in the past 10 years and that's saying a lot with all the Strymons and Eventides out there...
Softlightsymphony [test vid]
Nice comment. There’s something really magical about this sound. The way the mod on 1 delay and reverb on the other create otherworldly soundscapes is incredible.
It seems a little noisy in this demo. Is it really that noisy?
Wow! I like this reverb & delay all in one with the A & B switches!!! This is a nice ambient pedal!
The switches for both delays switch the inputs only. The outputs are always connected. This allows you to have trails by always leaving the bypass switch engaged or to use the bypass switch as the master on/off for true bypass. Additionally, you can feed delay A in to delay B with the bleed control without having delay B switched on for a cleaner rhythmic delay.
Sounds gorgeous, so mellow... lovely atmospheric effect. GAS'ing big time!
That thing sounds amazing! I've had several new echoes on my radar lately, but that one just shot to the top of the list! Great work, EQD. I guess that's why I have more of your pedals than anyone else's.
Cant wait till i buy this pedal, the avalanche run and the sea machine
I'm so glad I found you guys. I'm ganna have to start adding your pedals to my board
Thats one hell of an ambient post rock modulating delay machine. Great job Jamie!
this is a beautiful pedal. can't wait for it to hit the market. you guys are really stealing my heart with stuff like the rainbow machine and this. now, i just need to save up the dough. keep it up. you've got that perfect balance of crazy, "out there," unique effects and still maintain usability.
I just got this today, and it’s amazing!
I don’t know if it’s possible to own too many pedals, but everyone should make room for this one.
thanks!
Such a versatile pedal in every way. From a basic digital delay, to a monstrous modulation machine, to modulated reverb and everything in-between. This pedal could tackle so many variations of top notch desirable sounds either separately or simultaneously. For the price, you can achieve top of the line delay, modulation, and reverb. The minute I have enough money for this, I'm ditching my Boss DS-3 (not a bad pedal by any means), but this thing is so much more clean, versatile, and natural
Amazing delay machine, i love that sounds.
Ill get this for my bday
I was thinking the same, it's sounds a lot like this will destroy you, they move on tracks of never ending light. Love that song!
This Will Destroy You is the best of its kind... simply amazing
Check out the most underrated band in Denmark, called My Beloved.... its a little darker than TWDY, but they are amazing too...
I think you can find it on youtube
Genial !!! Amazing !!! ill buy it ....
Yo! Where TF did the old demo of the disaster transport jr. Go? It was one of my favorite pedal demos of all time and I’m trying to show somebody because it really shows off the oscillation.
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that Andy from ProGuitarShops hasn't demoed this yet because he's locked himself in a room with it and won't come out.
:))
He's too much of an 0-3-5 blues player to even fathom its sonic possibilities.
@@AndyAcker Is that a fact. You're Joking right ? Oh hahahahaha I get it now. You 're joking.
Wanna match this with the hoof reaper and make some black metal shoegaze
Man, I might have to buy my first delay...
It's out now, thanks!
Totally different than the Dispatch Master. Both are delays with reverb, but that is where the similarities end.
Man I’ve been sleeping on this pedal
most beautifl delay i ve ever heard. im pulling my hair now for buying the line 6 DL4 two weeks ago
keep your hair in! the dl4 is one of my favorite loop pedals (save that it is a terrible delay). Check out Nick Reinhart from tera melos and how he uses the DL4. Other name worth bands that used the pedal during its high point are the Fall of Troy, Explosions in the Sky, and Minus the Bear. Fun fact: the guitarist to Minus the Bear has 4 DL4's on his pedal board, all set as loopers ( he was also in the band Botch )
Fantastic!
In stores now!
That is awesome
do this incredible machine comes with its power adaptor? or i have to buy separately (im buying it from ur site)
Does the Disaster Transport Sr. handle instrument and line levels?
What does the bypass switch do? Just seems kind of pointless when you can turn on both sides with their own switches.
Is this named after the old ride at Cedar Point ? 🙃
Yes. Also the avalanche run
100 x better then the original. I just bought a echo dream 2. I should have waited.
Where can I hear the reverb alone? And can I use this pedal as reverb AND delay pedal?
Looks like there are a few seconds of just reverb at 5:06 - 5:18
Also really itching to hear how it sounds with both self-oscillating.
This would be cool with my Avalanche Run.
True that!
Got this and an Afterneath yesterday. Didn't have much time to do too much more than testing them out of the box and sort them out with my other Earthquakers. After lunch, it will be time to fire up this crazy set up and see what can REALLY be done with it all.
Does is self oscillate?
Amazing. When will these be available?
I WANNNNNNNNT ITTTTT
I had to watch an ad before i could watch the ad for the pedal.
Ha
Tap tempo (external or otherwise)? External synch?
No tap tempo. Sorry! There is, however, expression control over Delay A's repeats, and for the Bleed control, which feeds Delay A into Delay B in series, and if used in conjunction with the footswitches for Delay A and Delay B, allows for series/parallel delay routing. Thanks!
which is better this or the avalanche run?
they both rule! if you're into darker, modulated tape-like delays, I'd go disaster transport sr. if you like brighter delays and need tap tempo & stereo I/O, then the avalanche run is the way to go!
I love EQD Pedals. I came quite late in the game to the Synthy/LFO/Boutique/ Psychedelic pedals after playing off and on for 40 years.lol. Yes, I'm that old. I like Rock/Punk/a little modern Metal/Djent whatever. Can't believe I used the word Djent.Oh well, thats what they call it and I dig it MAN. OK, so EQD, do you have a pedal that is a lot like this ( Disaster Transport SR )but an actual Reverb w/ delay traits ? Kind of like the Yin to this ones Yang. That sounded kind of weird. hmmmm. You know what I mean. Right ? Also, Does this pedal or will this pedal sound good or like a shit through a heavy Amp like a Laboga Mr.Hector,5150, or a ENGL Powerball ? Is the NUX Atlantic a good pedal for it's price ? for any price ? for Metal or heavy Rock ? Whatever it's called this year ? Happy Trails-
This pedal does sound great in the fx loops of high gain amps such as the ones you listed. If you add a reverb to this pedal, you probably would have exactly what you are looking for. We have a reverb/delay pedal but there is no modulation like in Disaster Transport SR. Here is the link: www.earthquakerdevices.com/avalanche-run
...and I can't believe you used the word Djent either, but I'm glad you did. Happy Monday! Take care
@@EarthQuakerDevices OH, Wow ! Thank You so much for replying you sexy freaks(huh?)!!!! I will pull the trigger then. So just run a reverb into this bad boy and i'll be dancing with myself ohhhhhhhhhhh.Still in production ?
@@EarthQuakerDevices Happy Monday, well Tuesday actually now says the Vampire. Thanks Again !!!!
what's being played at the beginning?
I think it's supposed to sound almost exactly like "They Move On Tracks Of Never-Ending Light" by This Will Destroy You, but it isn't exactly the same. It's really goddamn close.
Maybe there are legal problems with playing the songs exactly. I'm not sure.
All I know is that it's a great song to play when demoing a cool delay like this.
I think I found my delay pedal. Hurry up Thursday so I can have some cash
Is this an analog delay or digital?
Analog-voiced digital delay.
this or space spiral? which one is better? what's the difference? aahhh please help!
Good question! If you're looking for intricate multi-tap delays or to stack multiple delays at once with expression control, then the Disaster Transport SR is the way to go. If you just want a simple short-to-medium modulated analog delay, then you'd probably prefer the Space Spiral.
EarthQuakerDevices woah thanks! I need them both hahaha
it's some kind of sleep aid I guess
It's time to sell my Strymon shit for this pedal.
@Claudio Zenobi that would be a very unwise move. Sell something else. Always keep strymon.
just add a tap tempo and it's a true must
Carlos Loor I wish they’d have made a version with tap tempo when they released the Avalanche Run. I’d pay an extra $50-$100 for tap tempo and/external master synch.
HATE the overly loud intro and outro. LOVE the pedal demo.
Why is this considered "lo-fi" I don't really here any sampling loss or anything like that in these delay effects
I think it's because the echoes aren't perfect copies, which is a characteristic of analog delays. I take it this is a digital delay that's trying to appeal to analog purists.
+Joe Mofo it's a cool pedal, though

You guys inhale, right...? Yes. Of course you do.
and another $200 gone........
Sounds like an instant Christian Worship Delay! waaaaant!!!!!! 😂😃☺😊
+kernelspy agreed
Id get this one but its expensive (play worship as well) I think i'll get the jr version which in my opinion is just as good
this is exactly what i thought!
