Wow mate what a brilliant video with some absolutely stunning big threadies!! That’s epic bro, they fight light crazy!! 😳👌 love your work; keep up the great vids!
Great video mate. Viper or Owner ST66 from now on ok!! I know its money but if you get a GPSMAP series unit you can screen record which makes much better to put in your videos.
Thanks mate appreciate it. 🙏🏻 It’s hard to say with threadys whether leader size makes a difference, cause you’ve got quite dirty water too. But I think in some circumstances they can definitely tell. Sorry that probably doesn’t really answer your question, if anything just leaves you wondering more 😅
@@BrisVegasFishing hahahah you have done exactly that 😂 good stuff bud 👍 might have to do a video of you on a good bite like that , and swap out to a stupid heavy leader and see what happens 🤷🏽♂️ I think in that water there is no way they are seeing that lure , would have to be all from the feelers you would think . But they do look like they are reacting to it like they have seen it on the live ..
Im the same man i hate it when they get gone with crap in there mouth, all these people way too light gear and i have mates that can only granny knot tackle seen it happen too many times
Do you folks eat them there? We love to eat their relative(Pacific Threadfin) here in Hawaii, and it was considered the “Fish of Kings” in the ancient times. Wish our threadfin got as big as yours though.
They’re a great table fish. Taste amazing, but they are difficult to fillet with bone nodes along their spines and fins. They can get trully massive over here.
@@davidraguse2106 it’s good picture quality is awesome, processing power is a bit slow (takes a while to turn on) and I wouldn’t say it’s user friendly. It takes a while to dial in your settings it’s not super simple to just push a couple buttons and have it dialled. I still use a humminbird for my side imaging as it’s way more user friendly.
Hey thanks mate 🙏🏻 I’m hoping to get into the Haines soon, got some moving around to do and free up some space. But this winter I’ll be starting the build 👌 I really wanna see your Brisbane river series continue, you’ve gotta crack a thready in the yak 👊
@@BrisVegasFishing yeah nice one, I look forward to seeing what you do with it…I have caught an 80’s thready a bit further in that spot 😜 but decided not to post it…I should get back into the series but limited with fishing time lately 😩
Apologies, I’ve probably stuffed up in the edit with putting clips in and doubled up. Incredibly observant on your behalf though, definitely not trying to hide anything on purpose 😂
We have been cleaning up for threadys around goodna aswell lately there are fish everywhere.
Good to hear mate. Just catch and release or you been keeping a few for a feed too?
21:45 "i dont like chancing these fish" he says after losing a pb because he kept the weak hooks on the lure 😂
Bloody hypocrite I am aye 😂😂 ya got me

Hahaha I promise, no more stockys 😂🤞 Yeah I definitely should’ve invested in the gpsmap series.
NICE work Josh, great vid matey,
Cheers Chris
Thanks mate 🙏🏻 glad you liked it
Cheers was that around 10m under your boat where you were been trying for them at the port no luck
10 metres out from the boat.
The port has definitely been tougher lately.
Mate - great vid again! Next time the wind is blowing & tide is right I’ll have to head up there👍
Thanks mate 🙏🏻 yeah definitely
Hey great video
Where abouts were you fishing in the river I didn’t recognise where you were cheers buddy
Thanks mate. It was just up past goodna. But there’s heaps about the system lately
Great vid mate ! That’s some good thready fishing ! Quick question , do you think you would still get the same bite with 70lbs leader ? Or 60 ?
Thanks mate appreciate it. 🙏🏻

@@BrisVegasFishingbro threadies are pretty much blind
I was a commercial barra fisherman in the territory nothing like freash thready for breakfast
They’re a bloody tasty fish aye. Just wish they weren’t so tricky to fillet 😅
Beast mate. Loved the vid👏

Great vid mate! Awesome action
Thanks Wes 🤙
where is it???
Love your work mate!
Appreciate it mate 🙏🏻
what braid to leader know are you doing mate?
It’s just an FG knot mate 🤙 the best knot

What size head unit are you running for the live scope please?
It’s just one of the 105SV models mate 🤙

I have a helix 10 , chasing something for live scope ?@@BrisVegasFishing
@@BrisVegasFishing is the water normally that colour in that system or is it rain affected?
Cool vid brother epic fish
Is that waterway local to your area ?
I only live 15 minutes away from there aye. It’s my actual ‘local’
@@BrisVegasFishing how good is that ...in another video I see you catching Barra ... which system is that ?
@@davidraguse2106 same system mate. They’re a bit trickier to find and harder to catch but 😅
@@BrisVegasFishing sounds like there's a fair population of them.
What is your thoughts on how that has come about?
Nice vid mate, I’m still trying to work out these bastards! Haha…how’s the Haines going? Any update on the build?

@@farcanalfishing 😂😂😂 wouldn’t wanna ruin the spot hey 😉 that’s a good size thready, still fun outta the yak anyway.
You're giving Jeremy Wade a run for his money there.....Josh Charles : "River Monsters".
😂😂😂 if only I could travel around the world catching river monsters 👌
@@BrisVegasFishing did I not see you recently in the US catching large mouth bass?
@@darrenwinsor8900 😅 but that was just a taste. I want a dedicated fishing holiday 😂
where are you fishing because i swear there is nowhere to fish in Brisbane
😂😂😂 it’s definitely brissy. Just in the upper reaches. There’s so much untouched parts of the system, but it can be challenging to find fish at times.
I'd be going back up to the Northern Territory if I were you better fishing, much much cheaper and I'd come with you if I could.
Itd almost be fresh where you are there wouldnt it 😂😂
Hahaha well we haven’t had too much rain, but it might deter some people 😂
@@BrisVegasFishing Those threadies were pretty silver too i noticed
@@MooseaPov silver from all the fresh 😉 I do love the change in colours that they exhibit.
@@BrisVegasFishing Ahuh? i thought yellow was fresh silver was salt. Learned me on that one
🔥🔥
I wasn't rooting for the fish...I know how it feels to lose a big fish...it's not fun.
😂 yeah it’s painful. I wasn’t super worried though, I’d been pretty fortunate and had a feeling I was going to catch more 😅
For a fish that doesn't have that big paddle tail, like a Jew for example, they go bloody hard don't they.
Weird hey. Even though it’s forked, it is far bigger than a paddle tailed fish. Powerful like a tuna 💁♂️
Back in the 70s and 80s we didn't use leader,we used wire trace....what's changed?
Can't really throw a lure with wire trace.
@@Thelankylarrikin we did,and quite successfully given the amount of fish we have caught over the years on a rod with a wire trace.
@@darrenwinsor8900 yeah right mate, I suppose a light guage trace wouldn't hurt especially with the dirty brissy water 🤟
Yeah remember the days up in Aurukun using 12” wire trace. Funny thing its the last thing I would think of doing now days.
Footage of the release for 2 fish was the exact same..... are you hiding something?
Feels dishonest watching the video showing doubled up footage.

Good work on absolutely ruining this spot 😂 gonna pump it now
Yeah go hard son! 🤙 It’s no secret spot
Thready master
😂😂 no no far from it. Appreciate it mate
I love that spot gotta keep it secret tho lol
😂 Cats outta the bag now 🙊 the heat will die off again when people don’t catch one straight away. They aren’t exactly an easy fish to catch 😅
Yeah bro that livescope is a game changer
If anyone’s been down goodna they’ll know exactly where this is haha people have been snagging threadies there for ages
