Hey Chris, thanks so much for letting my paydirt be a part of this video! I am excited to share it with all your subscribers and hopefully you all end up over at my channel soon! Great Canadian content along with great paydirt. The Cariboo Gold Rush at your doorstep!!
My dad taught me to pan some 65 yrs ago by placing 2 or 3 heads of sewing pins in a gravel then I panned them . He then gave me a series of pan loads with an unknown to me number of pinheads. He knew how many then I had to pan them and tell him the number of pinheads. Took me a while to be consistently correct. He was a water borer and also did placer explorations for gold at Gympie, Borneo, New Caledonia and other places where he panned the dirt at various depths to gauge if an area was suitable for dredging operations. Also tested areas at Mt Garnett for alluvial tin.
That is indeed the best gold panning lesson I have ever seen on UA-cam good going
Thank you, your a legend, I’ve been thrashing your vids before I take my son out on our first prospecting adventure
You, pauly and Dan hurd are my gurus
Love it. As alwayse I picked up on somthing new.
Love the bit of future product placement
I happened to stumble across your site after watching Gold Rush. I really enjoy your videos that I can honestly say I've watched every single one that I have found. I actually can't wait for new videos when they popped up. Just wanted to say thanks for the awesome videos mate. I'm from the cheese state in the USA.
WHICH a friend of mine is from Melbourne and of course his plates on his car say Aussie Dave.
Great video Chris, very informative for a person who loves watching you prospect for gold and wishes they could also.
Brilliant, was watching this as I was panning
That video is one of the best ones I have seen showing how to pan good job
That’s a great video Chris! I learned some new techniques from you on this one!!
Thanks for a very informative video. I bought myself some cheap paydirt and followed the video. Found a nice little selection of flakes and a sapphire. I’m headed for Tumbarumba next weekend so am planning on having a crack at panning in the wild while I’m down that way.
When I started planning, what I did is I put the smallest piece of lead buck-shot I could find an if you have it in the pan when you are done, you have accomplished what you need.
Excellent video this was Chris it was very interesting to watch and learn. I personally don’t pan for gold etc etc but I do love watching your videos and programs all about gold ie Aussie Gold Hunters ummm Gold Rush and stuff but I do prefer watching you out and about in your country and region looking and panning as it’s very interesting and you explain everything you do very well. Keep safe out and about when your prospecting and stuff.
Thanks again for your wonderful insight in panning for gold was enjoyable to watch love from Scotland 🏴
Nice tutorial, thanks for sharing!
Klesh is awesome. I love watching you two bloke's.
Chris - seriously appreciate your work, i will get out there one day - looks like great fun, will try and get the kids involved as well.
awesome tutorial for the gold panning of pay dirt Chris :)
Thanks Chris, a very concise instructional vid on how to pan. Well done matey
That was excellent! You really got in depth with the whole process! Give Fern a scratch behind the ears for me.
Always good info.no matter the equipment...it always come down to a gold pan
Very good vid Chris👌🏻 I would recommend this to anyone who is taking up panning👍🏻⛏🏴
Great panning video! Wish there would have been one like that back in 1968 when I started panning for gold!
Great tutorial. Trying to catch up on all your vids currently. If you haven't already made them, it would be awesome to see some videos on:
1) Panning with a ton of blacks sands (I am getting a vast amount of those)
2) How to tell when your sluice is full... Not seen any videos really touching on this and I am new anyways, but I am pretty sure I am emptying out my sluice way too often for fear of it being too full. Personally, I am only using a 6x24 with Dream Mat right now.
Thanks for all your great content!
Great video. If I was a newbie(I am) and was panning a purchased bag of pay dirt I would pan into a container where I could pour the water and washed out pay dirt through a very tight sieve so that I could pan the concentrate lost again.
Great video Chris. I really enjoy your production when it is just you, your camera, your gold tools/ toys and your passion for sharing your knowledge. You seem to be in your most happy of place when you are making videos like this.
Lot's of rain here in Victoria over night so all the creek's should be running hard replenishing the gold deposits. Cheers
Good lesson to watch and get educated before going out to the creeks,Thanks
Thank you kind sir! This is a very well made informational and tutorial video. Sending you golden smiles from California. Cheers!
Thank you for this. Very helpful to get me started. Love your content
Thanks so much for this, you helped me find my first gold!!!

Hay Chris you are a legend the best gold show on utube
Hey Chris, any idea if you’ll ever do another run of your own paydirt? Would love to get my hands on a bag or 2. Great video as always mate 🤙
I’d be interested as well, tried to get a bag of your paydirt the last time but didn’t order it fast enough :(
Thanks for the information you share . I'm just starting to try panning. In North Carolina . I do find videos are helpful.
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking the time and showing your panning process.
Good detail, Chris. I think you'll find that the place names shown on their website are all in BC, Canada, not USA.
Great illustrations about panning
Great instructional video! But I still like teaching people in person myself.
I get asked about this all the time I appreciate you showing this good video for it thank you Chris
merry Christmas n happy new yr Chris bit late but was out in the scrub with the kids

Master please continue your good work A+
Chris thanks a bunch enjoyed watching your video!🙂
Brilliant vid mate, thank you! I needed recalibrating and the tips on the clean up for me are game changing 🙌
I have done that with the same XP pan many times... Watching like the first time...
Nice video you showed me a couple of nice tips to try, thanks Chris 👍😎
Excellent video, my man!
That helps a lot Chris 👍👍👍👍👍
Chris, do you mind if I share this video with my grandkids. It's one of the best panning explanation videos I have have seen yet. I've tried to show them how it's done several times over a couple years but they don't really get it. This should get their attention. Thanks for a great video.
Love the videos man .not had any luck in North carolina USA panning yet but I'll get there .
Well put together :) Keep after that candy!
Great video bud thanks I wish I had it when I first started minning. I started after we got locked down from covid. Now I love it. But it's a lot of info very fast for beginners. I probably pan to rough but I'm finding some. 😁
I go digging with Washington Beach Mining all the time fam. he work very hard to get that AU fam. i'm learning a lot fam. load's of great info. nice bags you pick up fam. GOLD SQUAD OUT!!!
Great vid Chris.. thanks for sharing as always mate 👍🇦🇺
Chris
I am just starting out and am waiting for my cold pan kit to come in...
By Friday I think,
I am getting a 10" and 8" pan and small shovel and snuffer bottle and a few other goodies....
I have been watch your Video's and believe I am getting a good Education...
do you have any other tips???
Thank you.
Watch as many of mine, Dan Hurd and Adventure golds videos as possible
Great video! That XP pan looks a lot like the Minelab pan I started with. You really have to try to lose gold out of that pan with those deep riffles, great for beginners. I have since been using the Chinese riffle designs because you can pan down to very little material.
Hi Chris, thanks for that level of detail. Think I might venture into eBay land
very informative! love your vids dude! thx for not using the word boogah this time! lol
Clothes are getting better, house is getting nicer, more dogs, getting married.... Looks like our favorite hill billy is moving on up in the world.... Keep up the good work Chris
I like the "Lift and Dip"
I think I'm a little bit heavy handed with the pan. So this should help me with that. Hope everyone is well 👍🏻⚒🏴
I brought alaskan paydirt to practice but live in a no bedrock area so gotta spend a weekend prospecting camping 🏕️
Well done!
Great video thanks I don’t see the links for the paydirt though?
Love the channel mate ❤️🙏👍
Hey Chris 👋

Great to know that you know what you talking about. Now I am subbed to your channel. Full view every single vid. Keep up the good content my friend like 4 shore. 👍
You and Mick should be on a season of Aussie Gold! You're an expert on finding gold!🥰
This was epic! Thanks Chrissy Poo x
Don't forget to leave the super fines for the gold gods!
Do you already have a video like this, with the core information on how to locate gold?how to survey a creek/steam for where gold deposits will be, where to look, and what to look for, all condensed in one video.
Thats what I would like to know.
I live near a stream by a major open pit gold mining company..I wonder if it would be a good place to pan..
No, that is far too complex to fit in one video. Almost all of my videos contain various aspects of what you are asking.
@@VoGusProspecting ok, thanks for the reply. I've been watching for the last year or so and I have noted the tip within your videos. But it would be a good mini series of a few videos highlighting the tip and techniques of locating gold.
Great video very informative
lol scared of water! Thanks alot for the video ... I'd have struggled for awhile! NW has pretty deep rivers.
Wtg chris u nailed it was that paydirt worth what u paid ?cuz I haven't bought any yet cuz of the ones who do play fair ball kinda ruins the experience much love n stay golden
Rrrr showed 3 bags to pan was hope to see the Washington state of gold for you , might add a bag to pan learn from that size normally has a .2 with possibly some mico fines , nothing like the 🧁 they sent you . Thumbs up think thou seen's dog got a hit he needs a treat too !
Wish I would've found this video on panning when I first started
Awesome video mate!
Wish I had seen this before I started planning. It's taken some trial and error to get a decent results
Thanks Vo-gus great demonstration & information mate. Give Fern a good scratch under her ear . Stay safe 👍
I wish you were still doing it Chris I would still definitely get more but I know you're busy with your UA-cam channel and editing your videos would take a lot of your time
Its so much stress to do more than anything. Takes me 2 days to bag 100 bags. Hope your partner is doing well
Chris, I don’t see a link to get a shed? :)
What are the small riffles for on a pan? I never see anyone use them
cheers mate
Great tutorial Chris. The new prospector should be well on his / her way to panning gold .
I think the Earth was a Supernova . . . it's the only explanation for all the heavy elements. There's gold everwhere in some amounts. It'll be awhile before I can prove it as a Theory. Gonna try. It's everywhere!
You know how I locate magnetite on the river in Ohio when I can walk down to the river and then all sudden my phone goes out of reception I know I'm standing on some lol✌️
Thanks!
Wicked brother legend 😎
Gold will not collect on the floating magnet if you have enough water to keep the magnet separated from the material in the pan. The magnetics will rise to the magnet and be cleaned of gold as it travels through the water,
I have found that in my area the magnetics are primarily iron stone. These are chunky.
If I do it in water they literally pull gold off the bottom with it. If I don't pan the magnetics I tend to loose a little gold.
Having said that, the finer magnetite does not create that problem. So perhaps it depends on the magnetics.
Kool as mate,
hey chris question how does importing dirt from another country sit with australian customs
Not sure. All mine have got though. But many others have had it confiscation
Hey mate - best gold panning instructional video on YT!
Yeah! That’s better than yours😂 jk I’ve learned from both of you and countless others! Thanks guys keep up the great vids!!
Great vid...all ur content is Fantastic. Thanks again for your intensity and continued work. Cheers from Texas!!
Finally got my gold pan today! Watching a few videos before I do my very first bag of paydirt, the Klesh beginner bag. I’m excited! Wish me luck!
Oh and thank you for the instructional video! Lots of help. Between this and watching VoGus and Klesh on you tube constantly, I think I get the idea. 💪👍👍
I
Am
Struggling
Here.
😩😂😂😂
This is not as easy as it looks! My kitchen table is soaked. I am soaked. And the only gold I’ve found so far was a picker I grabbed outta the kitchen strainer. I will not give up. I will get this down. 💪🤨🫡🫡🫡
Right good shit mate
