ha I recognised the food coop from when we visited Heidelberg for my birthday earlier this year. we walked past it on the way to the botanic garden, which I must say was absolutely fantastic! probably my favourite that I’ve been to so far. I had been to cambridge university’s the weekend before and it was big… but didn’t feel as loved. Hope the Heidelberg tourism board is remunerating your efforts.
What a beauty. It is almost like this video should motivate us, even though we have not heard about this plant, to make pretty ourselves, like by cutting our nails. And then we are being informed still about horticulture.
I just lop the top off my pepper plants after a year or so and that seems to rejuvenate them. I'm sure the pepino will behave similarly! Not sure if there's a 'correct' way 😁
They look good, I guess you can propagate by cuttings. Any idea if that variety gets purple stripes when ripe. I'm just getting started growing these in Hawaii, not sure if they will like 150 inches of rain a year or if I should keep them in the greenhouse,I will soon find out
I could never grow pepino melons from seed. 30 seeds never germinated. I wanna grow it so bad here in malaysia but i cant get the plant itself only seeds. They grow them in cameron highlands but i dont think they grow plants only the fruit
@@allthefruiti just ordered a pack of seeds again to try. The previous ones i bought were 2 year old seeds and likely they were not viable anymore so now im trying a newer batch. The reviews for this seller show they do germinate so im giving it a shot again.
They ripen around October for me. Fertilising doesn't affect the flowering that much here but my fertiliser is one that's rich in potassium and lower in nitrogen.. I usually plant what I prune just like tomatoes it grows into a new plant. That's handy to overwinter in a pot for next year. Overwintered they flower earlier.
@@allthefruit l don't prune as much as you did. I just let them grow and what I prune I root for next year or give away to friends and FB contacts. I like them more than melons tbh.. I can't overwinter these here. They don't survive the frost.
Nice. Other people trampling my plants is the worst thing in the world, i don’t know how you can let those pesky lunchladys live😂 (just joking i also didn’t kill my father when he trampled all of my fruit and vegetable plot while fixing the fence)😂😂😂. But it certainly made me lose motivation.

Ive no space for cuttings 😂 dont overfertilize your plants and let them climb up some structure

Go to Cameroon highlands and get a few cuttings. It seems they root quite well

I plan to cover them with leaves for the winter. Plant what you prune? How many do you have now?

Pity
They grow and fruit better grown up a structure as done for tomatoes so they get good light and less pest damage.
