Even if he takes longer to kill them it he has much more freedom to dodge them. Then there's the fact that his weapons are just as effective as Mega Man's, but he can still dodge better.

Bruh, every Mega Man game is hard. And I suck at all of them (except Mega Man and Bass because I never played it)! Thankfully, Mega Man 10 came along, and gave us easy difficulty.

This game is a masterpiece: good music, HARD AS HELL BOSSES, stages take your HP bar to almost 0 it has 2 characters... its a shame that it didnt get just as much attention as Megaman 8/7 and X series from arround that time.
The reason why that is has to do with the fact that the Super Famicom version (the version seen in the video with fan translations) was never released outside of Japan owing to the fact that the SNES was already discontinued in other regions by that time, and even then, the SFC version isn't thought highly of in general by the fanbase. The GBA version (the one that got released internationally) is notorious for being extremely difficult due to the horrendous screen crunch caused by the decision to port the game almost one-to-one from SFC to GBA, and is widely regarded as the worst Classic Mega Man game.

Whoever is playing this game is AWESOME at it, I own this game and even when I use a action replay I can't not get hit and this person not only didn't get hit once, (unless you count the two times they used the spike weakness upgrade for those two CDs that is) but also knew where every secret CD was, AND made short work of all the bosses with little effort. Plus I like the first Astro man fight as this person didn't have the weapon to beat him (magic card FYI), but still did using only the busters charged shots, (and alot of sliding). So kudos to you player. Great video to. 😎

Ok, I know I'm kind of changing the subject but damn, difficulty in old games is stupid. There is so much goos r/assholedesign material you might think apple had something to do with it. Let's see, we've got barely any checkpoints, obstacles you can't avoid without knowing that they're there or inhuman reflexes/precognition, occasional highly questionable physics and/or hitboxes, fetishistic amounts of instakill hazards, or my favourite, just straight up doing the r-type and taking away your precious upgrades/powerups after death, thus punishing failure by ensuring more failure, brilliant. At least it was somewhat understandable at the time. a) videogames were something extremely new and very different back then so of course no one understood game design, that explains the unintentional blunders. b) arcade cabinets, just like carnival games and those claw machines, operate on a pay-per-try system, which gives worthwhile profits only once the game is rigged. If arcade games were reasonably difficult or fair they would have barely made back their costs, if at all. c) on home consoles cactus-in-your-ass can be seen as a leftover from the arcades but it stayed mostly due to the fact that apparently you could rent out from your local blockbuster not only movies on dvd or vhs but also game cartridges. If anyone could just beat the game in 1 afternoon and return it then about half of the potential customers will NOT buy the product, stonks it is not. At least now we don't have to deal with bullshit game design since greedy corporate crotch goblins have discovered something much more efficient: bullshit monetization, also known as bullshit game design 2: electric boogaloo. Though you still propably could make a game with all these flaws commonly seen throughout the 8-bit era as intentional features and idiots would still buy it because nOStALgiA. Fucking boomer culture, just a goddamn pile of annoying childish delusional cucumberfuckers, endlessly barking about some "good ol days" that never happened and how horrible the millennials are. @@RickThorne1 I play this with save states in the gba version to not loose that much my sanity playing it also if you play as Megaman use the beat shield more often with energy saver it ignores damage from enemies except for spikes and crushing.

I remember back on gamefaqs, there was this really dumb rumour talking about "CD101" and all the conditions to get it. Me and my friends followed it 100%, and the CD wasn't in the game at all. And the funny thing is, the "rumour" was removed off gamefaqs. That's what happens when people lie their heads off and waste people's time.
Whatever editing trickery you did to make certain things glow also inadvertently made anything pure white on screen have black shadows, and a few other quirks like neon trees when charging the buster in Burner Man's stage

@@jruler93 I have both versions and agree that the SFC is far superior. My only complaint was Capcom being too lazy by using Tengu Man & Astro Man from MM8 when they could have had different names. This should have been included on the Legacy Collection Vol 2
That might've made a difference in the beginning, but after a few special weapons it's all the same. Double jump and slide are pretty balanced in usefulness against bosses.
I have to say, Megaman and Bass has amazing graphics for the SNES (and soundtrack too), although overall it's not such a good game due to the difficulty I still think it's really cool that Capcom gave it a last MegaMan game to the few people who were still on the SNES in the middle of 1998 when many were already on the PS1, Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64, that's pretty cool and you don't see many companies doing that anymore. Also, I think it's amazing how they adapted the MegaMan 8 visuals to more limited hardware like the SNES, it makes me wonder what it would have been like if they had tried it with the MegaMan X4 instead.

I was told yeaars ago it was only on SNES in Japan, completely localized for Japan meaning everything is written in kanjii (i think??) Aka Their native alphabet not this one you're currently reading. Making it very hard to translate and localize for the West markets

This game in general didn’t have good reception even in Japan due to design problem and some unfair difficulty
@@jruler93 I have both versions and agree that the SFC is far superior. My only complaint was Capcom being too lazy by using Tengu Man & Astro Man from MM8 when they could have had different names. This should have been included on the Legacy Collection Vol 2

This guy is smart
Fighting the bosses with Bass is much tougher than with Rock.
That might've made a difference in the beginning, but after a few special weapons it's all the same. Double jump and slide are pretty balanced in usefulness against bosses.
@@Ozymandias1111 Some of the King Fortress bosses use harder patterns for Bass.
But the platforming is harder with Rock than with Bass

I have to say, Megaman and Bass has amazing graphics for the SNES (and soundtrack too), although overall it's not such a good game due to the difficulty I still think it's really cool that Capcom gave it a last MegaMan game to the few people who were still on the SNES in the middle of 1998 when many were already on the PS1, Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64, that's pretty cool and you don't see many companies doing that anymore.
Also, I think it's amazing how they adapted the MegaMan 8 visuals to more limited hardware like the SNES, it makes me wonder what it would have been like if they had tried it with the MegaMan X4 instead.

Wow. I had this on GBA and complained it woulda been better on SNES. Im JUST NOW learning it WAS an SNES release in the US. I was told yeaars ago it was only on SNES in Japan, completely localized for Japan meaning everything is written in kanjii (i think??) Aka Their native alphabet not this one you're currently reading. Making it very hard to translate and localize for the West markets
