I just managed to complete this nightmare a moment ago, all rings found and game simulator Stages finished. I just wanted to say thank you again, I did manage to find the Rings in the original game like I said before but because it was so long ago it's more than likely I would have forgotten where a lot of them were located. Ring 3 in Act 3 just isn't there for me! 😭 No matter what I do, it never spawns. I'm at 179/180 and it's absolutely killing me! ***IMPORTANT EDIT*** My Ring 3 was actually in a different place!!! Just to the left of where the one in the video is, there's a Ghost Wisp. I used that, went up above it and used the platform there to go up. I then used a 2nd ghost to go above there, went left and BOOM...there it was! Why on Earth are there 2 places for it!?
Agreed. The best part about ultimate is that it has a 360 degree laser this time, so I used that to get to it without doing all the difficult platforming by using it while I'm underneath the shadow of the spinning red ring.
I really love these guides you're doing! I'm watching this because my Wii console still works after 10 years and I don't quite remember how many red rings I got and my mother is gonna buy a new Wii remote one day, so I'm watching these to know where they are.

Never mind finally got it. You need to boost over the flat area, and you need to skip a block by double jumping over it and you will just have a moment to leap off the last block. What a pain in the glutes this ring was.

I beat the game on ps5 and haven’t had any problems. I think it’s blown out of proportion unless you’re on switch but most people trying to 100% the game are on other systems for dem sweet achievements
I’ll be honest, I have no clue if s ranks are necessary since I just beat the game with all S ranks easily lol, but rival rush and red rings in each world are certainly needed. Chaos emeralds are to 100% game land
Well, when in a single world's map, the S-Ranks are marker in the statistics with the x/x out of sign, and so on the owerworld but there's not a statistics page with a checklist in the game and in the options planet S-Ranks are replaced with any% levels and Chaos Emeralds
I've checked and @UTAGaming posted a video about all S-Ranks in a world that I don't remember, that had all 30 red star rings, the Rival Rush beaten, act 7 beaten, only had 1 S-Rank and the world's file stated 81% complete, so S-Ranks do count after completion
There’s a easier way to get the second red ring for act 4, you just aim the lasers on the platform to make you get the red ring after hitting the wall, keep doing that and you’ve got the red ring
Good call! I didn't think about that when I first played the game haha. I got most of the red rings based off of muscle memory from playing the original game and wanted to help everyone out with guides the way I knew how

Because they had to include another wisp to this remaster, the Ghost Wisp (first appeared in TSR, a racing spin-off), resulting in some of the red ring locations changed.
You were able to get Red ring number 5 on Act 2 so easily when that's the hardest one to obtain.I mean how did you do this? The fucking wisp cube runs out so quick for me before i even get to it.
Uhhh... one small problem: Some people have an issue that they cant see the act 4 miniboss' lasers on the top of it, so they have to guess where does it shoot Any fixes?
That’s a Switch port specific issue and I agree I was hoping that they would have fixed that by now. Sadly my best advice would be to just get max boost before entering the fight so that you can get far enough away that the lasers don’t hit you

Um. I collected the 3rd ring in act 6 but it says I didn’t get it. It’s hollow because I did get it but it’s not counting the ring. Is this some kind of glitch and now I can’t 100% the game?

It's amazing how much higher my standards have gotten for video games after branching out past the Sonic franchise. Holy god, act 4 has some seriously terrible level design. I forgot how bad it was.

At 18:42, the caterkillers used to shoot bullets vertically, now diagonally, which increases the difficulty of dodging from them.

S-Rank for Act 5 sucks. Those Ceiling enemies keep tracking your movement and you can't dodge them. You lose all of your rings and only an A-Rank
Yeah unfortunately they don't fire their shots correctly in ultimate. Usually they fire straight, but in Ultimate, they ruined their trajectory haha
How do you get the overall world map 100%? Are the Chaos Emeralds necessary too? Because they're mentioned in the statistics instead of the S-Ranks

I can't get the last ring in act 2. The platforms always disappear before I can make the jump I'm fucking fuming.
Try using the stomp to land faster or jumping on the 2nd platform first to save time.
